I love the current collection Sasha Kuznetsov. Its a small space, but with great history and amazing people. Come and chat with the curator or rent the space for an event. The art is worth seeing, history worth learning.

What? Where did this place come from? Yes please. This Museum has been around for about 30 years and is open for exhibit openings, special events and some weekends. While I was there, Russian was the language of choice amongst guests, artists and the director/curator. Gangster. The art is all Russian based by Russian artists. Some of the art pieces are super cool and super Rusky. I dig. The Museum space is small, just one floor of a brownstone, 3 rooms, but it packs a punch. I look forward to checking it out again soon! $ 5 donation is suggested.

Small museum with active and booming schedule. It is located on the second floor of a Jersey City brownstone, 5 min walk from the Exchange Place path station. Parking might be a challenging task in the area, though. I’ve been here many times and every time it was a warm welcome, interesting art, surprising lectures, concerts and poetry readings. The art they show is mostly by artists of a Russian descent or Russian speaking artists from other countries. Museum also participates in Open art Studios during which they host awesome parties, fashion shows, other kinds of programs and they top it often with great reception and good food. Somehow it is totally under-discovered. I highly recommend to visit this jewel of Jersey City community.
