Very satisfied. Now I will way I love Chipotle but not a fan of Qdoba. Ordered the chicken quesadilla and I received many filling choices(really appreciated that option). I also was not charged extra for guacamole. Now, it is not Chipotle but it is not supposed to do the same thing. The chips, though they do not have the lime and salt taste, will do, especially since I also have the quacamole. Quesadilla, chips and drink — total price $ 11.43 Keep in mind, this is for dinner too.

Walked past… saw a long line… figured…“It’s Mexican. How bad can it be?” I should’ve read the reviews first. This had to be the most tasteless food I’ve ever wasted my money on. I ordered the ‘grilled shrimp’ burrito. There was nothing grilled about the 7 or 8 baby shrimp that I received. The shrimp in Chinese egg rolls are bigger. Plus… these weren’t even grilled. They’re poached in some sort of liquid. By the blandness, water would be a safe bet. If you’re looking for any semblance of real Mexican food, keep walking past… like I should’ve done.

I just wish this was a Chipotle. The quality is ok… not amazing. Why is there no Chipotle in this area?

We ordered Salsarita for an office lunch and I just had to come on here and rave about their impeccable service! Ordering for an office staff of 30 people is a very gruesome task! Its time consuming and often frustrating when people do not receive what they ordered etc. However, I’m happy to say that Salsarita did an amazing job!!! We had never ordered from here before and I faxed in the order the afternoon before just to make sure they would have all the necessary information and I was crossing my fingers they would get it right. To my pleasant surprise, when I called to confirm if they received my fax the manager on duty took the time to confirm all the orders! I really appreciated that because if someone was missing some key ingredients he was sure to ask me to clarify the order. He was very thorough and wanted to ensure our order is delivered correctly. The next day they delivered the food ONTIME like they said they would and everything was not only correctly made but it was labeled to perfection! I am very impressed with their willingness to not only cater to such a large group during their peak lunch time, but to also go the length to ensure that there was no confusion for us when we got the food. We really appreciate all the effort Salsarita put into our orders and we will definitely order from them again.

This Salsarita’s outpost delivers about what you’d expect from a corporate setting along the JC waterfront: bland, poorly prepared, heavily Americanized Tex-Mex. We had some manner of catering pack in the office on Tuesday(Cinco de Mayo fun!) with the standard bits: rice, black beans, grilled chicken, ground beef, guacamole, sour cream, hot and mild salsas, shredded lettuce, and diced tomatoes with a stack of flour tortillas. The hot salsa was probably the star: bright and just hot enough, managing to give some much needed zing to the otherwise flavourless meats and other accompaniments. Chipotle(and Moe’s) it’s not; the corner Chinese/Tex-Mex joints do this stuff better. Still, it’s not the worst I’ve had and the food was fresh.

This place was always average at best, but then last year it tanked and turned to garbage. Foreign owners had no idea how to run the shop, and then they rightfully closed down. Then they re-open with ridiculous shortened hours. They close at 5pm in an area with over 50K residence nearby. Place continues to be unclean and serve small portions. If they fail [again] they deserve to. Corporate should step in and turn this place into a winner.

It is not Moe’s Southwest Grill. Food trays are left by the condiments and utensil area.

We always saw this place closed when we passed by and realized it’s only open weekdays for lunch so ended up trying it when we saw it open the other day. We had the small chicken burrito bowl. There is hardly any difference in price between the small and the large bowl. I think it might be better to charge lesser for it since it is quite small. 6.99 for that size doesn’t justify it. The taste was fine nothing great not up to the chipotle/qdoba mark. The chicken didn’t taste freshly cooked but they do give you guacamole with your order which does taste fresh.

I’m not even going to both comparing this to Chipotle. I’m not a fan of them, the taco trucks in LA are WAAAAY better than Chipotle. Anyways this review is about Salsarita. I am new in the area and trying out a mix of different restaurants/places to eat. Need to find my go-to places. I ordered a salad with a mix of steak and pulled pork, guac and sour cream on the side, mild mix of spices, and all the fixins. Total cost is $ 8.01(did not order a drink) Portion size is very small, I could literally count the number of olives, jalepenos, and diced tomatoes they put on my plate. Everything tasted mild, there was no flavor on the meats. They were pretty cheap with the sour cream and the guacamole giving what amounted to a small tablespoon of each. The steak was bland, it was cut in small pieces and cooked so all the juicynees of the steak got dried up. It was extremely dry. The pulled pork was just that, there was no flavor, I could’ve been eating shredded wheat that had been soaked in hot water for 3 hours and I would not have noticed the difference. I’ve definetely had better foods, and this place has been crossed off my list. For the price this place is not worth it. There was no redeeming quality about the food that entices me to come back again.

I stopped going here because they gave me expired food last time! Lets just say that something in my burrito bowl didn’t smell like food.

came here for lunch and it got the job done. $ 8 and change for a big burrito with steak and shrimp. I’m not complaining.

This is my daily lunch spot and although I am quite a big fan of the burritos, it’s pretty expensive and that really brings down this quick Mexican spot a few notches. That being said, it is quite decent… I’m just unsure it’s worth the money.

Taco salad. So good! I wish I had paid more attention to each salad item, but sadly I did not. But it was really delicious, and there wasn’t too long of a wait during lunch time on a Thursday. Plenty of seating options too. I’ll be back.

Came here for lunch. Ordered salad with shrimp. Salad fresh but lettuce still wet. Shrimp was seasoned ok and gave a decent amount. Saving grace for salad was the ranch dressing which probably had chipotle in it since it was pink and their salsas and fresh cilantro added flavor to my salad. Portion on the small side compared to chipotle. Not too many options on the menu or veggies to add to order. Faux chipotle. Nothing authentic about this place.

Stumbled in here on a Sunday afternoon. This place is basically a lower tier version of Chipotle, but we were starving so we didn’t really care. Ordered the small burrito with grilled veggies(no meat) and added chips, guacamole and a fountain drink. This is fast food, but it’s not as cheap as you would expect. Very filling. I should have gotten salsa, not just pica de gallo on my burrito. The pica de gallo was kind of blah. However, no issues with soaking wet tortillas or tasteless chips like other reviewers mentioned. If anything, the chips seemed to be extra seasoned!

I knew it, I knew it, I knew it. This place was destined to suck. Ok, maybe that’s too harsh. I mean, if I was stuck on an island for days without anything to eat, I would almost certainly not think that Salarita’s sucks, but alas that was not the case today. I’ll make it quick — Salsarita’s is the B-side of Chipotle. It’s essentially trying to do the same thing, only with more ingredients and more ways to assemble them. Unfortunately, the food quality is just not there, and the service is maddeningly slow. Still, they do a decent business, and I can only presume that stems from the lack of options — especially Tex-Mex options — in the area. Yes, Blue Moon is just down the street, but they fall into an ever bigger«suck» category because you actually have to sit down there, wait for the food, and pay twice as much for it. Ugh. Whatever I just ate is about to hatch inside of me.

I have to say Salsarita was a much needed addition to the Jersey City Lunch Landscape. As everyone who works in Jersey City knows, finding a tasty, healthy lunch is like finding the proverbial needle in a haystack. I am a big fan of their salad. My favorite is in a plate(as opposed to an edible alibeit very fattening bowl) with shrimp, lettuce, black beans, chunky mild salsa, cheese, cilantro and a touch of the tequila dressing. All this yumminess for a very reasonable 280 calories(thank you Queenie W for referencing the very awesome website with nutritional information). I have tried their chips with Queso and it was delicious — too delicious! Unfortunately due to the calorie content, I will never eat them again! Salsarita has the typical ambiance of a fast food joint. You wait in line, place your order(much like subway) and collect your food when you pay. I particularly like the slices of lime by their fresh brewed ice tea. Salsarita is in regular rotation on my lunch schedule!

Their website is pretty cool. Even help you to calculate calories yourself. BTW: I still can’t get used to their extreme hot sauce…

I work in the same building as Salsarita and was deceived by the yummy smell coming out of the restaurant when I walked by it, so I decided to grab lunch with a co-worker there. We ordered salads, a chicken salad and a shrimp salad. The portions are TINY! There was barely any lettuce, or other ingridients in the bowl. They are extremely stingy with the amount of ingridients they put in. The salad was tasteless and not satisfying at all. The line to the counter is very long, but that’s because the service is way too slow, especially for a fast-food joint. I will not be coming back here again and don’t recommend you to go there either, unless you like your food to taste like plastic!

Meh indeed. I know Chipotle. Chipotle is a friend of mine. Salsarita’s, you are no Chipotle. The food tastes OK, but not addictively delicious like Chipotle’s. The portions(for the price) are nowhere nearly as generous nor the ingredients of the same quality as Chipotle’s. The guacamole is way too smooth(think electric green baby food) and leaves an unpleasant oniony after taste. The meat seasoning is bland(but the green sauce was OK). The cheese had no flavor. The line to order was curiously long and the service was painfully slow. I shan’t return, as there are plenty of Chipotles to satisfy my faux-Mexican cravings.
