I came here after an unexpected accident on a slippery road. It was the only shop open on a Sunday when it happened. My car wouldn’t move after the tow truck dropped me off and he did the repairs from the ground. He ordered the parts right away and I was able to pick it up the next day. He advised me to get my tires aligned and to ask the right questions so that they don’t overcharge me.
He offered to answer any questions I had over the phone. Great guy, great service. Highly recommend this shop if you’re looking for transparency and fast service.

I stopped @ H&H by chance — was driving by and asked how much to fix the breaks.
Few days ago another repair shop mechanic told me that I need to replace all 4 breaks — brake pads and rotors. On top of that there was some explanation about my left wheel that needs to be repaired (true — there was some noise when driving) — however, since it is such a huge problem something else needs to be fixed and second wheel too as it is required with the first one to the total price of $ 1,300!!!
So, I stopped by H&H and asked for the estimate. Shop owner took my wheels off and showed me what needs to be changed — only brake pads not rotors. I also asked how much to fix my left wheel and he told me $ 70 — so total price for 4 breaks, work and this other problem (sorry still do not know the problem’s name) was around $ 360. I left the car — owner drove me home — gave me a call, when car was done, and drove to pick me up. Very happy with the service, honest analysis of the problem and great price!

I am going to have to downgrade my original review down to a one star. Two months later my check engine light came back on and then my car died on rt 139 during rush hour. I cannot recommend coming here.

H&H Auto is the best auto mechanic in Jersey City, hands down. Andy is such an honest and kind man. He will work with you if you need to priortize work due to costs — to keep you safest on the road. He will not do unnecessary work. I can’t recommend this shop enough. It’s small so you can’t leave car there long.
