Great service, great value, but more importantly, awesome food. Would love if this was located closer to home in Chicago area. Sandwich combo was a delicious, lite option. Entrée portions were large… leftovers for sure. Hats off to the owners and thank you for a unique experience.

In Sedona, Cottonwood, or Jerome, This is the place to go. Incredible food. The Zin burger may be the best burger I have ever had… and that is saying a lot. It is my go to food choice. I have never had a bad meal there and they are very affordable. Any restaurant these group does is spectacular… Bocce, The Tavern, Nic’s. All good. In my opinion the beer selection could use a little bit of love. Some drafts would be awesome. Good wine selection. Great staff. Great prices… so they get a pass on the beer list.

Very good food — I had the mini sammies and berry salad, good wine and the service was friendly and prompt. I would go there again if I were privileged enough to return to Jerome.

Portobello mushroom is a piece of heaven I’ve had several from different restaurants and none of them even come close to this. We didn’t have anything besides that and some bread and wine because we have been eating all through out the day prior to this place. But we had to stop because a friend highly suggested it. Well now I know why! It was just amazing. And the pink mascato lol no words! Best I’ve ever had!

Ate dinner on the patio on a cool day. They had the heaters cranked up and we were very comfortable. Great place to people watch while having a wonderful lunch.

Located in an old historical mining town called Jerome. This used be a ghost town, but it seems business has picked up. There is a haunted 3 story hotel that is nearby that used be an insane asylum where 9000 people died.(Don’t know if it is true that over 9000 people died, but you can look that up) The food at this restaurant is amazing. It is kind of a small cozy atmosphere type of a restaurant/bar. It is generally packed around dinner time, so if you don’t get there early enough, you’ll be waiting for a table for awhile. They do not do reservation. It is first come first serve. It is definitely worth it if you are ever in Jerome.

Where to begin? First off, Grapes is located in a super cool historic building in one of the most scenic towns I’ve ever had the pleasure of visiting. The view from the patio is gorgeous. The menu is diverse and everything looked so delicious, I had a hard time choosing. I eventually decided to have the chicken caprese sandwich with a side salad, and I had no regrets. It was huuuuuge, they didn’t skimp on the chicken at all, and the flavor was out of this world. The focaccia… oh man. We were starving, and this lunch set the stage for a lovely afternoon of wine tasting. We will definitely be back and I will definitely try the pizza next time. And perhaps one of their many unique cocktails! I should add that our waitress was excellent as well. Such a great spot!

Excellent service, good food, nice view! We came here for lunch during our visit to Jerome and surely enjoyed our lunch here. When we arrived just pasted noon, there was no more tables left inside and we decided to sit at the patio. They have outdoor heaters throughout to keep us warm but no happy medium. Either hot or cold depending where you sit. Service was great, our server was very friendly and attentive. She brought small sample of split pea soup when my friend wasn’t sure about soup. I ordered Italian meat pizza. Pizza was about 8 inch in diameter, they put so much meat on top, I couldn’t finish my pizza. Very unlikely for me as I eat a lot but the pizza was that meaty. This restaurant is owned by the same person who owns another great dinning place in Jerome, Haunted Burger. Since I had good experience at the haunted burger, my expectation was high and they met my expectation. Jerome is a little town with good food. I recommend adding this restaurant as one of places to eat in Jerome on your list.

Made the mistake of sitting at the bar with a full view of the kitchen and ended up losing my appetite and wasn’t able to eat most of my food. Here are some of the things I saw: –People were wearing gloves, but touching EVERYTHING with their gloved hands. I was there over 2 hours and never saw any of the 3 kitchen staff change gloves and/or wash hands. –Rags are used to wipe down any and everything and not cleaned in-between. I watched several times as the rags were used to wipe down the microwave and other areas, then used to wipe the cutting board that was being used to prepare food. I saw all 3 use a rag that had been hanging from their pants and it being used to wipe off plates about to go out and the cutting board, then also used to clean up messes on the stove and other counter-tops and never cleaned between uses. –The bread that they use is made the day before and stored in the cheap plastic containers with white lids that you find at Walmart. The bread is then cut on that dirty cutting board, grilled, then put on the side of the dirty stove until the plate is ready.(My bread on my plate was drenched in something wet on one corner & had to have them make me a new one). –Everything is stored in the those cheap plastic containers. Chicken, salad, bread, all ingredients for the pizzas. –The dough for the pizza is sprayed heavily 3 times with a cooking spray before it reaches the oven, once before they put it on their machine that flattens the dough, the machine plate is sprayed, then they spray the pan that the dough goes on. –The ceasar salad is stored in individual plastic sandwich bags, then they squirt in the dressing and plate it. –The chips come from a bag and are left open right next to the conveyor oven where most things are cooked & are likely getting food droppings in it. –Utensils used to cut the pizza and sandwiches were not cleaned in between orders, so all were cut with the same knife & pizza cutter. –Servers were constantly leaning over food that was being prepared by kitchen staff while they were talking. Watched one server cough all over someones pizza and then turn her head to sneeze.

We got the lunch sandwich, margarita pizza, and margaritas. The food was pretty good for Jerome food. The accompaniment of the grapes went well with the sandwich. The fact that one can see into the kitchen is superb! Clean kitchen = Happy stomach The drinks were super strong and big. The service was very great! Truely romantic spot.

Color me confused. I don’t understand the rave reviews. I’m wondering if there are two Grapes restaurants in Jerome — one that is over the top, and one that is so-so. If that is the case, we ate at the latter one! We were greeted when we entered and were told by a voice(someone behind the bar(???) which is directly in front when you walk in, to sit anywhere. The waitress soon followed with our menus and rattled off the daily appetizer specials, wine specials($ 6 wine specials although the table stand said wine was $ 7 — waitress told us that was wrong that wines were indeed $ 6. Why would you have incorrect info out for your patrons?) and entrée specials. Our drinks arrived in short order.(BTW — the Pinot Grigio had absolutely zero taste, but the Jameson’s was a healthy pour.) We ordered the shrimp cocktail starter. No frills here, remember, it is Jerome. The shrimp cocktail came in highball tumbler filled w/ice cubes. The shrimp was good, all but one properly prepared. The cocktail sauce was flavorful. I doubt it was house-made, but still had a bit of a punch. When our waitress came to take away the starter, she asked if we didn’t want the last shrimp, and we told her it wasn’t deveined properly. She apologized and brought us 2 more shrimp & more sauce. We appreciated the nice gesture. Entrees come with the pasta of day, soup or salad. Our pasta was bow tie pasta with Alfredo Sauce. The house salads arrived, attractive with shaved Parmesan and lots of red onions. I’m surprised the filet medallions didn’t arrive doing the backstroke. They were absolutely swimming in a dark sauce of some kind(steak sauce?) accompanied by the pasta &2 slices of grilled bread. Some of the meat was tender, but most was not — chewy and fatty. I did not care for the flavor of the Alfredo sauce either so that remained uneaten as did the toast. Entrée special of the day was grilled salmon w/prosciutto & tapenade sauce with the pasta of the day. Wow — we’re talking a lot of flavors going on here. Although slightly overdone, the portion size of the salmon was good, but the prosciutto made it very salty. Same Alfredo sauce reaction — mediocre and not very good. Guess we’ve been spoiled by good Alfredo sauce elsewhere. Jerome isn’t a center of culinary excellence, and one must keep that in mind. For the most part, restaurateurs in towns such as Jerome rely on tourist business, not repeat regular customers. That said, I think they still could ratchet up the food quality. In their defense however, we were there for dinner and it may be the case that their sandwiches and pizzas are delicious as other reviewers attested to. Let’s talk atmosphere: there isn’t much to say as it’s pretty nondescript. Like many of the buildings in Jerome, the building has served many purposes over the years. I love that Jerome wants to preserve their long and storied history. The exposed used brick interior walls are beautiful. But why is an open doorway into the kitschy t-shirt shop next door?. Maybe patrons eat their meals and don’t want to walk the few feet from the restaurant front door to enter the front door of the t-shirt shop next door??? I wonder if a lot of people go from eating to buying t-shirts, or vice versa for that matter. Only thing I can think of is that both establishments have the same owner, or have a vested interest in each other’s business. I thought the doorway strange. The restaurant is located on Main Street & because Jerome is a tourist town, there is a lot of foot traffic back & forth in front of Grapes. The two large Main Street-facing windows provide the opportunity for window-shopping looky-los(it is sandwiched between two retail shops) to peer in and see the diners & vice-versa. The owners could do a lot to make the space a bit more private by perhaps frosting a portion of the window. The atmosphere could also be improved by sealing up the door to the shop next door, making the place more intimate. Our so-so experience precludes me highly recommending this place. We thought the prices were too high for the quality and flavor — more of a «just o.k.» experience than a «wow» experience. But we’d return and give it another try. The attentive server was friendly and informative, and made the shrimp cocktail right(the right thing to do.) Although there were few patrons when we arrived, it still would have been good customer service to be shown to a table. Options are limited in Jerome, but there are still options. (We found out later that the owners of the Haunted Hamburger also run this place. We ate there, too, and were equally underwhelmed.)

The cheeseboard on the front of the brochure caught my attention and that determined our lunch spot. I first ordered a Prickly Pear Mule and I have to add the prickly pear syrup to my at home bar. I don’t think I can have a Mule without it again. So good! The cheeseboard was beautiful and good — except for the yellow sandwich cheese slices in between the mozzarella. That was awful. The baked goat cheese topped with jam was the highlight of the board. I ordered a cup of the Veggie Beef soup — that was outstanding. Great rich beef broth, shreds of beef and not too loaded with veggies. I could have had a second cup. Hubs had a small nice looking pizza. He seemed to like it since he ate it all. This restaurant is just cool. Old house look and feel inside, right on the main strip, nice outdoor seating area, with a nice view. Get there early as the place is not very large and fills up fast.

Really good little spot in Jerome! We ordered the meat and cheese board to start, it was really good with a great assortment. We probably could have just had that for lunch. My son got the turkey burger with chips. I’m not sure, but I think the chips may be made there. They were crispy and yummy. We had to bring the burger home because he over indulged in the chips. I enjoyed the French Dip, which was so amazing! My husband got himself the Filet Medallions. They were quite tasty but they over cooked them slightly. And that brings me to the service. The service was over the top! They were incredibly fast and thorough. When our server found out the filet was over cooked she went above and beyond to try to let the cook remake them. We told her that it was not necessary, they were still really good. Then the manager or owner(not sure, just obvious it was the supervisor) came out to try to fix it as well. Then they offered us a free dessert AND only charged us half for the meal. None of that was necessary but it’s obvious they take pride in the food they serve. We WILL be repeat customers the next time we take a road trip to Jerome!

We came here after wine tastings. We sat at the bar as there were two seats available with no wait. However, I ordered a beer, and waited about 10 minutes for it. and I sat at the bar? That makes no sense. For our appetizer, we started off with the Zinful Shroom. It is a stuffed portabello mushroom with artichoke, spinach, mixed greens, tomatoes and red onions with cheese on foccacia. It was really creamy and super cheesey. Next, my husband had the Pastrami sandwich and a cup of soup. The soup, Chipotle Carrot, was seriously good. The sandwich had a really spicy mustard on it. I like spicy things. but it was way too spicy for a sandwich. There was too much horseradish in it. He told the bartender, but she kind of laughed it off and said it wasn’t that spicy. I ordered the sausage and mushroom pizza. The crust was good and the toppings were really good and fresh. I ended up switching meals with my husband, as he couldn’t eat the sandwich as the mustard was too spicy. Overall, this place has a lot of charm! The bartender we dealt with didn’t handle our«spicy situation» very well and as a result, the service wasn’t the greatest for us. I thought the prices were rather high for a lunch. $ 10.79 appetizer, $ 10.99 soup and sandwich and $ 10.99 pizza. Coupled with a beer, our meal was almost $ 40 for lunch. I do realize that this is a tourist area, but the prices were way too high and the service didn’t match the high price tag.
