I was having a bad hair year. I called and Jameena said just come in .I told her it was real bad. I walked in and was immediately greeted and felt comfortable. The wait wasn’t that long considering I just called a hour before. Once in the chair my stylist worked her magic and my own husband didn’t recognize me when he walked into the salon. I had to get all my hair cut off but I bask in compliments on my hair and especially the ones from my husband. I’m definitely loving it and everyone’s like keep the style. never had a style that fits my face. If you need somewhere to go and are unsure about going to a salon I definitely recommend this place. Ms. Jameena hit it out the park on this one. Thank you!

I had nothing but a positive experience here. It was fast, painless and I love the way my hair came out. I love that taking care of my hair before putting in the extentions was a priority. Everyone was extremely friendly and professional. Jasmine did my hair and you can tell she knows exactly what she’s doing and really cares about making sure your hair looks good and is in good condition as well. I really have no complaints about this place. I highly recommend it if you’re looking for a place with a nice atmosphere, and professional people who can hook you up with a nice hair do.

First time coming to this shop and getting a sew in and I must say I had such a positive experience! Jasmine is wonderful and very professional! She works fast and gets you in and out. She exceeded my expectations and has a lot of experience! My hair was so nice and I received so many compliments. I will definitely be back and be referring my friends and family to her. Take my advice, stop looking now and just make your appt., you will not be disappointed!

I had purchased a Groupon in the summer after reading the reviews for this place. My appointment was scheduled with Jasmine. I sat there while all the women were talking amongst one another and Jasmine walked by, a few minutes later told me to open my hair and asked what I wanted with no proper introduction. Anyways, I showed her pics and told her what I wanted. She then began to color my hair and it looked red than brown, so I pointed this out to her and she corrected it. The whole time she was working on my highlights she was on the phone and talking to the receptionist/​assistant screaming in my ear. It was very unprofessional. Finally my hair was done and she said, «Next time say you want brown,» wtf! I realized at that point I wasn’t ever coming back. She had another girl wash out my hair, Jasmine styled it and I left. On my way out I went to the desk to tip her, which I always do at salons and she said, «I got your coupon,» no thank you, nothing. I told her at that time I was just going to tip her, which I did and I walked out.
Groupon is a marketing tool companies and small businesses use to allow customers experience and test out their services, it’s not so that businesses can do the bare minimal. Don’t treat your clients like crap, respect them and be professional!

I was in the market for a new stylist, after relocating to the area from Chicago. I searched the Internet extensively and I came across Styles of Elegance. I checked the reviews on Unilocal,and there were not many, but all really positive. I took a chance and gave a call. I spoke with Jazmine and she was lovely and professional. She took my information and I was booked for that following weekend. I was going in for a full sew-​in and closure. When I got to the salon, I was promptly greeted by Jasmine and told it would be 10 – 15 mins… I didn’t mind the wait, it gave me a chance to get situated after my 45 min drive. After about 5 mins, a lovely young lady Tenesha came out and said, she was ready for me (she was going to braid my hair). She was very efficient and was very thoughtful in asking to have her work checked, just to be sure it met Jasmines expectations. I really appreciated that. My braids were done small and flat and tight.:). After she was done, Jasmine started sewing my wefts… I have to tell you, I absolutely loved how quick and expert she was, and… she folded over the wefts, rather than cut them, which is what I like. She did an awesome job. My sew in is amazing and my closure is off the hook! She asked me how I wore my hair, I showed her a picture, and like magic she recreated the exact same look! The salon has that neighborhood feel, where everybody knows your name. There was tons of laughter and I didn’t feel out of place or unwelcomed, or awkward at all. Here are some logistical things that I found super helpful. If you are not familar with the area, you could have a hard time finding the salon. It’s on a little side street off of West End Ave, there is on street parking $.25 gets you one hour and the streets are lit at night, so you don’t have to worry about walking in the dark. If you’re not having your hair washed plan on about 2 ½ hours. The website says 15% off new clients, I didn’t get that… likely an over sight (and I forgot to ask about it), but I’ll ask next time I go in for maintenence or my next install. I would definitely recommend Styles of Elegance. I will absolutely be going back.

Today was my 1^st time here and I must say I love my hair!!! I can finally walk out of a salon and not have «news woman» hair… I don’t have to wait for my hair to lay down. Jasmine was very sweet and knew just what to do with my hair and I really appreciated that (especially since I’m so indecisive!!). My hair looks fab and I’ve already told all my friends about it. I’ll certainly be returning!

This place went down a few notches unfortunately. I stopped going for awhile. She hired a shampoo girl to help her and that kinda ruined it for me. The girl is sweet and nice but she does not know how to shampoo or cornrow hair. The first time she shampooed my hair, the back of my head was completely bone dry. Really? She didn’t even notice. I politely pointed this out to her so she would wash it again. After that I just washed it myself. She has also cornrowed my hair before Jasmine did my sew in. I don’t know what she does differently, but every since she did it, not only does it NOT turn out the way I want it, it doesn’t last as long as it did when Jasmine did it herself. There were also complaints about the kind of hair I was using. When I bought different hair it looked horrible. Looks like I might be on the search for a new hair place… again.

I started getting my hair styled by Jasmine, the owner of Styles of Elegance, almost a year ago and have been happy since. There is no waiting to be seen and the salon atmosphere is professional. My typical service is a full sewn in weave and I get a ton of compliments. I would highly recommend Style by Elegance.

I have been going to Jasmine for all my beauty needs for over a year. Although the shop is new Jasmine is a seasoned vet at all things beauty. She does my sew-​ins, lashes, color and waxes my unruly eyebrows. She also has a proven talent of working with my mothers natural hair. Jasmine has the ability to make you feel comfortable and relaxed and better yet she is always on time, quick and reliable! I appreciate that she always accommodates my last minute appointment needs and doesn’t have me sitting in the shop all day. I am sure she will be successful at the new salon she calls home!
