I have been here 3 times and each time I’ve had a bad experience. I wanted to give them one last chance, and this time it was the drive thru. I was waiting in line 15 minutes and there were only 2 other cars there. I hadn’t even made it to pay or receive my drink before I pulled out of line. I don’t plan on ever going back!

The drinks are a little pricey, but they are delicious! The seasonal drinks are fun and tasty. Nice place to hang out.

I wasn’t extremely impressed, but I wasn’t extremely disappointed either. I had their iced chai tea latte and pumpkin spice cream cheese muffin. Can’t remember what my husband got. The muffin was really good. But, I remember commenting to my husband«can I get a little chai tea with this milk.» I guess coming from getting those from Starbucks, there is a big taste difference for me, personally. However, the staff were great.

I have long adored Heine Brothers for their specialty drinks, especially come fall. Every Tuesday, I used to amble down to the Bardstown Rd location for my Salty Turtle, which was a drink to be adored. My waistline wasn’t happy about that, so I stick to a latte these days. The staff, no matter the location, is consistent. For me, their regular coffee is traditionally a touch bitter, but I love the local vibe and fair trade practices. Louisville is lucky to have this company, which is heads and shoulders above any chain coffee joint(cough cough Starbucks). Beware though: any of their coffee is strong… so don’t be afraid of the jitters later. Do stay to do work and meet folks, as the atmosphere is laid back and spacious. Perfect for homework or answering emails!

I absolutely adore Heine Brothers’ Coffee and I am a huge fan of this location because it is convenient for me to stop here on my way to work for those mornings when I just can’t get into my proper groove. First a warning to anyone who hasn’t been to a Heine Brothers’ their lattes are S-T-R-O-N-G! With a large you end up with 4 shots of Espresso, which generally makes for a more bitter flavor. The flavors are evened out when they put in their yummy syrup in there or you choose to add sugar, fresh honey(which they have there for you add to coffee or tea) and/or cream. Their Icebergs are amazing and offer the same amount of espresso as a latte but they tend to be a bit more sweet. They’re great on a hot day! Yesterday I ordered the Zombie because that’s how I felt. That will definitely wake the dead! As a matter of fact I drank on the same one this morning after taking it home because it’s so full of caffeine I was shaking in my chair with the coffee jitters! Very bitter but quite tasty. Their breakfast burritos are warm and fluffy bacon egg goodness, and their pastries in my experience have been delectable! The inside of the store is well laid out with shirts and mugs that you can purchase on the right across from the registers. It’s very modern and smells like a coffee house should, pastries and roasted coffee beans, mmmmmmmm! The front patio can get kind of loud due to it being close to Tire Discounters and Veteran’s parkway but gives you plenty of space to people watch while you drink your Fair Trade beverage. I love sitting on the patio when my time and the weather in Southern Indiana permits me to be able to. Obviously I use the drive thru the most because I am stopping on my way into work or I am stopping in on my lunch break, the service in the drive thru is speedy and the baristas are always friendly(which is surprising considering sometimes when I go through there I look really rough) but their attitude livens up my day and it’s not only the coffee giving me some pep-in-my-step but the friendliness of my barista. Plus they always have a change bucket outside the window that benefits charity and you get to vote on various questions that changes each week so you just have to come back to see what the next one is! One of my favorites was«Who would you rather have narrate your life? Morgan Freeman or Sean Connery?»(Morgan Freeman is who I chose!) It’s a fun little place I like to visit and you should too!

This Heine Brothers opened right down the street from my work this year and I am truly blessed. This place offers a safe haven on my breaks from my hectic job where I can just take a few sips in peace, no emails, no meetings, just java. The store is honestly stunning. In my opinion, its the best looking H.B. I’ve ever been to. Their patio offers plenty of seating with actual tables, not the black wire tables that are always leaning onto one side. Its large on the inside with hardwood floors and plenty of tables with outlets, metal chairs, plenty of natural lighting and Heine Brothers’ awesome t shirts, jackets, French press coffee makers, mugs, local goodies(Butchertown sodas, Cellar Door chocolates) and coffee for sale. This place is the perfect spot to plug in and study. Great music(quiet), relaxing ambiance, and the best aromas(obviously). Their loose leaf tea selection is excellent. I highly recommend any of their green tea. The Japanese green is currently my favorite. When I’m broke, I order the coffee of the day with a splash of soy. I’ve found that they have a different coffee every single day, and do not have a regular coffee, like a typical coffee house medium roast, always available. Its extremely hit or miss with their coffee of the day. Sometimes its some of the best coffee I’ve ever had, and sometimes it so bitter or burnt tasting that I can’t even finish it. That’s a little frustrating. When I’ve got five bucks(or more) to spend on a caffeinated beverage I order a small vanilla soy latte and I’m always impressed by the quality of the foam and the speed at which its served. I love that they use organic coffee, offer vegan(I am not one, but try to have meatless/organic days) options and have several locally sourced food and beverages, depending on the season. One of my favorite things about this coffee shop is the ever changing seasonal menu, these guys really know how to make an excellent craft espresso drink! I’m always excited to see what fresh ideas they’ll steam up next. I am always taken aback by the extremely high prices. I’d love to be able to come here for snacks more often than I can, but a turkey sandwich(albeit organic with amazing ingredients such as fig jam) for over seven bucks and a small fruit plate that’s not even cut in house at over five, I just can’t justify that when I eat out for lunch almost every day(obviously, I do not manage my money well). With that being said, I love their scones, egg and cheddar wraps with locally made salsa and most of their cookies and muffins. And maybe the most disappointing thing: They don’t have matcha. But overall, this is an oasis for myself and many of my work associates. I know that when I get to work with a Heine Bros. coffee in my hand its going to be a good day. Note: I recently tried the chocolate chip banana muffin and I REALLY hated it, so dry and stringy somehow. Maybe skip that one, haha.

This coffee is so great, this location has amazing baristas, and this cold brew is the best I’ve ever had! I also got an iced dirty chai with almond milk today and it’s delicious! The baristas are so nice, friendly, and knowledgeable! The girl that took my order was discussing the cold brew with me and we talked about the brightness and nutty notes, it’s nice to chat coffee with someone who really knows! I love that they carry so much local product, too! The vegan jerky is so good, even carnivores would love it! They carry 3 flavors. The bourbon smoked jerky is my favorite! They gave a huge variety of sweets to choose from, too! A great place to come and get some work or studying in! The outdoor seating is great on a nice day! They have a huge garage door that they open on a nice day so even if you sit inside, you get a great feel for the fresh air! Everyone should check out this place if you’ve never been! If I lived here, I’d be a regular for sure! I’ll just have to come every time I’m in town!

Friendly, down to earth staff. I ordered a cold brew that did not disappoint. I was Passing through and stopped because of the sign on I-64 and because they advertise fair trade and organic. Definitely worth 3 bucks. Large space inside with a cold press juice bar. I’ll definitely be back for one of those!

This location is very similar to the Blakenbaker location– both are new, more of a Starbucks décor, and out of central Louisville. There is great natural lighting and many table options — something very convenient if you want to do homework or have a meeting. This location has an advantage as there are absolutely no free standing Starbucks’ or other coffee shops on this road. Although, there is a Starbucks inside the target. Driving to this location is a bit weird as it is in a new plaza on the east side of 65N(the side with nothing but whatever is in this corner plaza) rather than on the west side of 65N(the side with target, restaurants, and the green tree«mall»).
