I’m stumped at the reviews; thought this place would be good because it’s so highly rated. The service was great; however, the pizza was awful. Some frozen brands would beat out what I had. And this is definitely more of a bar than a restaurant. I just don’t get it!!!

What a wonderful experience. Caprese salad — garlic knots — meatballs — and chicken alfredo. The service was excellent — Madeline was friendly and efficient. Every dish was hot and served promptly. It’s a bit noisy but so worth it to enjoy the delicious food. The menu is loaded with lots of choices.

They have the best pizza I’ve had in a long while. Excellent dauce and good cheese. Most importantly, delicious beer and friendly service. I look forward to going back.

Best decision I’ve made all week! The dinner special was Italian Hot Brown. My mouth and stomach are in heaven!

This is a place where«everyone knows your name»! I met friends there and enjoyed the ambience and friendly service. I had a personal size pizza, with Mediterranean toppings. It was very tasty with all fresh ingredients and great crust. It’s a great neighborhood restaurant.

Twinkly lights outside made me think this was going to be really nice. But it was very much a «neighborhood bar» right in the heart of J-town. Lots of folks were playing Keno… We had a coupon so meal was very affordable. I had a calzone which was good — nothing to rave about, but decent. Next time, I’ll try the pizza or one of the other pastas. Very nice waitstaff.

We love Johnny V’s, and go there pretty often. Their pizza, sandwiches, salads, and other food are great. Personable and efficient staff, too. Neighborhood hangout kind of feel. Highly recommended!

Johnny V’s is a dive bar dressed in family restaurant clothing. I had the wings and pizza. The pizza was tasty but the wings(which came highly recommend by a local guy at the bar) were undercooked, greasy and inconsistently sauced. The bar tender was more interested in being buddy buddy with the locals and talking fantasy fuseball than service. The regulars were not fun friendly types but depressed and sarcastic and brought the atmosphere down.

Love Johnny V’s! The food is amazing! I highly recommend the chicken caesar salad, it’s the best I’ve ever had! It’s such a large portion too :) The pizza is incredible, especially«The Guido». Also, the chef there makes a killer beer cheese you can get with some kettle chips that is oh so delicious.

Originally when we were looking for a good place to eat in J-town, Johnny V’s was less than friendly, but as we became regulars for delivery… the nicer they became. Their cheese cake was off the chain… like almost quite literally, if you put it on a chain… ok I won’t go there with that analogy, you get the picture. When they remodeled and shut down for a few days, right before we moved we were soooo sad that we might have seen the last of Johnny. But alas, they opened the last night we were in town and lo and behold they changed up some of their recipes, made the food better… I’m not sure if it was because I had told Brooke, the manager we had come to know, that it was going to be our last night ordering from them or what… but they really hooked up our food. With a sad tear in our eye, we pass Johnny V’s to the next J-town’er looking for some good pasta, New York style Cheesecake and great delivery service! :-D(Jus’ don’t mistake their customer service for rudeness… it’s just a bit of that East Coast style. ;p lol) P. S. Being a fish aficionado(ahaha — pun intended) — their fish was always what I ordered and for a NY Pizza joint, it was flockin’ good! :-)

Heard of Johnny V thru the grapevine. From what I had heard had to give it a try. Pizza had great flavor, we ordered the supreme, but it could of used more toppings. Service was good and staff friendly. With the coupons we used this place is very affordable. We will return and hope to find that this was normal and not a onetime thing cause we really enjoyed Johnny V.

Truly a local hangout. Walk through the back door and all the heads turn. Might be a better bar hangout than restaurant. They even had signs for Fantasy Football leagues to meet there. The«spiedie» sandwich was described better than it actually was. Very bland. The kettle chips that came with it were very tasty. The pizza had a great sauce with a bit of a kick to it. The crust was in-between thin and normal, more like a bloated thin. Great texture but again on the bland side. Decent beer selection including some artisanal Italian brands like Peroni and Moretti. Service was great and one of the review stars goes to having the arcade game Mortal Kombat. If you enter or exit through the back door be prepared for a foul smell emitting from the restrooms.

Just moved to Louisville and was looking for good Jersey Pizza. Someone recommended Johnny V’s, and they were right. The pizza was great, and the garlic knots too. Service wasn’t great, and if you have kids, sit away from the bar because the language is pretty strong. I’ll go back for the pizza.
