Betsy Ross Diner

Good food, good service, solid diner fare. Have eaten breakfast, lunch and dinner here. It’s not exceptional, but consistently good.

I have eaten here probably close to 2 dozen times. The food is generally good, especially the breakfast food and tuna melts. I only had one meal that I was extremely disappointed in, but a 95% success rate isn’t bad.
In general the service is ok, but it depends on who is serving you. I won’t name names, but there is one waitress in particular that I’ve only seen there during the day that really ruins the experience. I’ve thought about walking out after being seated in her section, but I’ve decided to not make a scene and give a 2^nd, 3^rd and 4^th chance… Every time she delivers the same poor service. She acts like she is being forced to work there at gun point. Forget about getting your coffee refilled or asked how things are going. She takes your order and then disappears to chat with the other staff or watch tv. Luckily the most recent time I was in there the other waitress on duty was nice enough to come around with coffee and then clear our plates and bring us our check.
So in general it’s worth stopping in if you are close by, but I wouldn’t go out of my way. It’s convenient which is why it continues to get my business at all.

Solid diner, nothing more or less. You have to be so, etching really special to get more than 3 stars, and not in business long if you have less.
Food: Just fine. Had some typical NJ diner fare. Gyro, fries, burger, wings. Great wings. Breaded, which is ok sometimes. Worked out here. Big, crisp and great sauce. No complaints at all. The gyro was good, as were the fries. Burger was cooked medium as desired. Fries needed a bit more salt. Sure you could add it, but always best to dust em’ right outta the fryer.
Service was fine, prices were fine and menu looked varied enough. Décor is meh… but whatever. It’s a diner. No charm but not offensive. Only big grip is what the heck does Betsy Ross have to do with anything??? The name annoys me…

Keeping it at three stars after a few more visits. The food is decent enough to return, but I don’t see much more of a reason to do so aside from the fact that we live right around the corner.
Also, if you get take-​out, check the bag! They forget something or screw it up almost every single time!

So plain and simple, I’d come again. I consider myself a foodie considering I eat out a lot and enjoy all kinds of food and love trying new things. It is my hobby.
I ordered the eggs benedict. I thought it was good. Not the best I’ve had but not the worst. It’s a diner. If I wanted a fanciful amazing meal, I would not go here. But for breakfast, it was good. The potaoes were okay. I like them crispy, they were not.
As others have mentioned, the staff was very nice and attentive.
Décor wise, again, it’s a diner.

This was the second time for us, first time was fine. Returned this week, will not darken their door again. Manager has an attitude problem, its her way or the highway. Chicken was raw inside. Sandwich was over priced. Nothing special about it. The cheesecake was old and dry. Early bird specials are only until 5pm, a bit early for working people. We arrived at 515pm. Manager wouldn’t budge, blamed it on the computer… DUH …ever heard of over ride… they are not interested in return business. For the same amount of money go to Tuscany on 23. They have specials for $ 9.95 with a free glass of wine. Great atmosphere and hostess is great, always smiling. We go to Tuscany often.

We tried over and over to really like this place. However they failed. The staff is nice but the owner. Rude nasty and does not care about customers. When we found a hair in the food he said it was impossible. When we pointed out the he had hair all over the back of his shirt he just ignored us. Disgusting! Don’t waist your time or money here.

Decent diner food, a little pricey for what you get. There are better diners around, but since this one is close to our house it’s a bit more convenient. The home fries are not so great, so if you love them with your breakfast, prepare to be disappointed. Everything needs a little salt. Food takes a bit longer than most diners seem to take, especially for a smaller size establishment. The hostesses could be a little more professional, as the last time we came the girl was practically falling asleep at the counter.

I went to Betsy Ross Diner yesterday and had the Manhattan Clam Chowder and a Beef Gyro. Let me say the food was amazing. My Waitress was very friendly. The Diner had a home feeling to it. I will definitely be going back very soon.

I tried this place out on two separate occasions. I must say– I was pleasantly surprised. The first time I ordered the Belgium waffle with eggs and a side of home fries. The waffle was fresh and soft and the home fries were delicious!
The second time i ordered the London broil with mushroom sauce and mash potatoes. That was with-​out-​a-​doubt one of the best dishes I’ve eaten at a diner.
I notice some of the negative reviews about the servers. I believe the place has been open for only a few months so I’m sure they’re slowly weeding out the good employees from the bad. However, I can honestly say my specific server was very courteous and attentive to me.
I will definitely make this a regular stop for my diner needs.

My roommate and I first went here a couple months ago and the service was slow for 8pm (was not busy), the server was friendly, and the food was ok. We both went to the restaurant last night and we were floored. The service was wonderful, the server, Brooke, was very courteous and friendly. The food was so much better than the first time we went there, and we will most definitely be going again! I would think the first visit was more of the diner trying to mesh together being that it was a brand new restaurant. This time, you can tell they have the right staff and they have this place running smoothly. Keep up the great work!

First, just to be fair, I consider myself a foodie and know quite a bit about food and cooking so Im very critical when it comes to food and dining. Ive frequented diners for most my life.
Ive been here three times and Im not impressed with the atmosphere nor the staff. The food is less than average; even by diner standards. I only go here as a last resort because of the convenience.

Menu is limited by diner standards but less of am issue than the food being uninspired. Bland compared to other diners I like. Small portions; Not worth the money in my opinion. Especially when there are other diner options within a short drive from this location.

Recently opened. I still think they have some things to work out. Went for Sunday breakfast. Veggie omelet was good home fries were a little cold. Waitress was very friendly as was the hostess and the man refilling our coffee. Will definitely be going back once they have worked out the kinks!

Food was alright. Service was HORRIBLE. The waitress couldn’t get her order done for the life of her, she kept coming back to the table asking about our order because she didn’t write it down the correct way, it wasn’t even busy at the time. That was the worst service I had ever gotten. Such a Shame.

Awesome place, food is great, staff is friendly! Must go! Steaks are great, prices are good.

Great Place. Coffee Hot! Had Frssh Orange Juice, Veg Omlette and toasted (like a NY type) Bagel. Out of this world Great. New place and Busy. They could not be nicer. Will return next Sunday!
