This place has the feel it is winging it. The vineyard is new so the low quality wines can be excused to some degree, but these were not serviceable wines. Probably a good vista in the fall, but you can have a nicer view with better wines at Wolf Mountain. In general, the vineyards in the western Georgia mountains have a way to go.

Wineries in North Georgia can be good, bad or ugly. Fainting Goat is one of the good ones! Their wine is quite good for a new vineyard and their location will make you want to hang around and enjoy the mountains. The view on the balcony with wine and cheese is a real treat. It’s very European but still has the down home appeal of Georgia.

I went to Fainting Goat Winery and must say I was completely impressed. Having grown up in California, I tend to be underwhelmed by the vineyards in Georgia. But Fainting Goat blew me away! I had no idea Georgia could produce such top notch wines. My family and I live in Atlanta and couldn’t believe how easy it is to get to Fainting Goat. The staff is beyond friendly and courteous. They have wine totes that allow you to take your wine tasting to the deck and enjoy the view. I’ve never seen that before and must say it is a really nice touch. What is so unique about this place is that the owners are there working behind the bar. Their passion for the business is contagious. Although the place was slammed, they took the time to tell us in detail about their wines, why they got into the business and how they came up with the name. They really cared about us having a great experience and even came out onto the deck to check on us and see if we needed anything else. I have never seen owners of a business spend so much quality time with their customers. Their prices are very reasonable. We did a wine tasting for $ 8 and then bought a bottle of wine for about $ 20 to drink on the deck. They had live music playing and we didn’t have to pay a cover charge to listen to him. The musician was great! He was funny, had a great voice and really interacted with the crowd. That added to our already outstanding experience. I am so happy we took the drive to the mountains to find this vineyard.

The scenery is worth the visit. It is breathtaking. They have Frogtown beat. The staff was friendly and fun. The wine was underwhelming, however. I wouldn’t not visit for that though. The location is awesome. I think if they give it some time the wine will improve.

Drove past this place a hundred times and never noticed it. The facility is a Château style structure on the side of a hill. It has room for guest to relax and enjoy the tasting and on the occasion of our visit, they also had olives, meat and cheese trays for purchase from a local bistro. The wines are all very unique with a clean, delicate flavor. The view from the deck was incredible and nothing beats sitting there, listening to Randy Dobson play soulful classics on his acoustic guitar while enjoying a glass or two of incredible wine. A great place to slow down and relax.

Just recently had a chance to visit Fainting Goat Vineyards over Labor Day Week-end. It was a beautiful crisp Saturday afternoon and we thoroughly enjoyed the experience. We sat outside on the deck overlooking the vineyards and the mountains. We listened to live music as we sampled our wines and ate from our cheese platter. The wines were very good. There were four whites and three reds. After sampling them all, I decided that«1812»(red) was my favorite. The entire staff was very friendly and knowledgeable about their wines. I would highly recommend a trip to Fainting Goat Vineyards. Thanks to Corey and the entire staff for a great afternoon!!!

I went to Fainting Goat Vineyards on their grand opening and had a sampler, a glass of their Liberty wine, and also bought a bottle of Liberty to take home. They had 7 different wines on their tasting. Evem though I am not a wine guy, I thoroughly enjoyed all 7 of their wines, which pleasantly surprised me. The ambiance was quite lovely, and definitely a good get away not too far away from the city, or even a good place to bring friends who are visiting for the weekend. Good job Corey !

Beautiful tasting room, amazing view, nice folks and yes, great wine! The only thing that would have made it even better would be a place to sleep after sipping :). Loved tasting every wine there, but my fav was the 1812.

Beautiful mountain vistas, gorgeous tasting room and really great wine. And live music every Saturday and Sunday. A great place to just chill and enjoy or host a special event. My tastes lean toward dry wines so the«1812″ red to be excellent– rich and full bodied. ‘Old Glory» is their dry white. Again nice body and refreshing. Either wine can be enjoyed alone or with food. Their tastings allow you to sample their range of offering from dry to sweet. They just may be the nicest people in the world escorting you through your journey.
