Jo-Ann Fabric and Craft

I loathe this store. If any of the people who work there actually know anything about the products they sell, they haven’t shared that knowledge in my presence. I gave them six chances and each time I left irritated and empty-​handed; I won’t be giving them a seventh. Twice, employees were clustered outside the entrance smoking cigarettes and I had to skooch around them just to get into the store. Once I asked for a seam ripper and nobody (including the manager) knew what they were and whether they carried them — turned out they didn’t. Once I had a cart full of fabric and nobody was available to cut. Once, they cut then told me that the fabrics I’d selected weren’t on sale «yeah, we really should put up a sign — people have been making that mistake all day. .» Once I asked where I could find foam rubber and was distractedly told I should look around. When I asked for the manager, she told me she was the manager. When I told her how unhappy I was with such unpleasant lack of service, she shrugged and said it was too bad I felt that way.
