good service, good prices, but food that is average at best. 3 of us ordered burgers; they claim the meat is fresh and never frozen but I have serious doubts. every patty was the same exact size, perfectly round and flat and dry as hell. good charred taste, but so amazingly dry you have to cover them in ketchup to get it down. and the fries? crinkle cuts straight from the freezer. was it the worst food I’ve ever had? no. will I eat here again? no.

Over the past decade, my family has steadily tried most of the Friday Fish Fry joints all over southern Wisconsin and this place is tops. We come here regularly. The fish is perfectly fried and the bazingas (seasoned potatoes) are a perfect compliment. If you’re not the coleslaw type (like my husband and daughter) you can have a dish of macaroni and cheese and it’s quite good. Service is always friendly and prompt and their tap beer selection is excellent. The place is a typical Wisconsin bar — not much to look at but spacious and clean. We have also tried the steak sandwich here and its awesome. Perfectly cooked, comes on a great bun that doesn’t overwhelm it. Highly recommend it. If you come for the fish fry be warned that after 6pm there is a line to get a table in this place. But worth it. They do take out if you don’t want to wait.

not much to look at but appearances can be deceiving. it’s located just two doors from job service so we decided to grab a quick lunch before returning to work. I ordered a grilled chicken salad… I was pleasantly surprised when a dinner plate, heaped with crisp lettuce and ripe tomatoes was set before me. the grilled chicken was tender and moist. my companions were equally pleased with their burgers. service was prompt and friendly… but both wanted to try my salad. don’t judge this place by it’s looks!
