This place may be 4 stars by Jamison, PA standards, but cut that number in half and that’s what it is by mine. Five of us went here for lunch on a Thursday afternoon. Our server Monica was very pleasant, both on the phone when I called ahead to let her know a group of us was coming in and as our actual server, though I was little taken aback by the red tricycle sitting between the parking lot and main entrance. At first glance, the lunch menu is harder to understand than computer code and makes you wonder if the owner/s are confused by what a tapa is. The«tapas,» are listed at the bottom of the menu and consist mostly of salads, soups and half sandwiches. News flash: these ain’t tapas. Trust me, I lived in Spain. Rather, the lunch menu is dominated by non-«tapas.» First you pick your meat, most of which are advertised as already being seasoned, then you pick your bread, then you pick your style. So, for example, my one co-worker opted for the Cajun voodoo pork(advertised as sliced pork, spicy rub, onions and jalapenos). Then he picked his bread and opted for«Philly style,» which then mounted broccoli rabe, garlic spinach, peppers, more onions, and globs of unmelted provolone cheese. The end result was a pile on a plate reminiscent of something that would come out of a can of dog food and a very frustrated customer who left hungry after only being able to stomach one bite. I don’t blame my co-worker so much as I do whoever designed this menu. Why would you season the meat of choice then ask what kind of «style» someone wants. What if I had ordered the chicken salad sandwich and asked for it «Philly style?» Would they have put hot toppings on a cold sandwich? Also, if you know anything about me, you know I’ve got major issues with frozen fries. Tapas on York doesn’t even try to hide it. They’re putting out those wavy fries you can buy at most state carnivals, or in the frozen food section at your local grocery store. At least they were well salted and didn’t need any ketchup, which ended up being a good thing since they served what tasted like spoiled ketchup in 2 oz. ramekins that was definitely something other than Heinz 57. The one good thing I can say about my dish was that they used what appeared to be sea or Kosher salt on my fries and the Monte Cristo special wasn’t all that bad, though the server misunderstood that the sandwich didn’t in fact come WITH egg, but rather that the French toast was in all likelihood dipped in egg batter. Mark my words: I wouldn’t go back here if my life depended on it. I also couldn’t help but to notice they refer to be the business as an «American food evolution.» They’re evolving all right. Evolving the tapa into something that isn’t a tapa.

Parking was a challenge. Server was nice but not great. Menu looked interesting. Server didn’t give us much guidance. Print out specials instead of reading them. The restaurant was very noisy. This was NOT tapas. Portions far too big to sample a variety. In all, this was disappointing. Menu looks good, needs to be refined for size and price to be more authentic tapas. They don’t need to ‘Americanize’ their selections and portions. Get rid of the farm table and bring in 3 four-tops that can be joined for larger groups. Add some sound deadening and turn the lights down a bit for more ambiance. Fix the parking, find other spaces for the upstairs tenants or expand the paved area.

This place was a chosen BYOB spot for my monthly Moms Night Out. The outside isn’t too appealing but as soon as you walk in you feel nice being there. It’s small but cozy with a calm environment. We tried several meals and they were all very good. The filet mignon was soooo tender & delicious! It was My favorite of all! They also bake all pastries on the premises and they too are very good. I will certainly come back as the owner herself is present & working. She was gracious enough to stop at every table and see how our food & service was. That is definitely something you don’t get to see or experience often. If you’re in the area stop by, you won’t be disappointed! 5 stars for great food & wonderful service!

Had brunch for 14, 5 of which were young children, on a Sunday before our daughter’s baptism. Everything was fabulous! Coffee was hot and delicious, all the meals came out exactly as ordered and cooked perfectly. I had the west coast breakfast and the scrambled eggs with herbs were done perfectly, my husband had the Creole morning and loved it. French toast was also a big hit. They had run out of kids cups and the server went above and beyond to rig up cups out of plastic to go containers for my 3 and 6 year old– it was very appreciated! We will definitely be back!

Good place but deafiningly LOUD. Went on a Saturday night with another couple. We’ve driven past this place hundreds of times so we decided to check it out. We were seated on time and our server knew the menu well. We ordered several small plates and a main course to split. The food was very good but it was so loud inside that we had to shout across the table to be heard and even then, sometimes we could not hear what the person across the table was saying. Highs: good food, good service, reasonable prices(including tip it was $ 60 per couple and we were stuffed). Lows: way, way too loud. The desert menu consisted of different types of gourmet cupcakes which is not consistent with the menu. The desserts need to be more upscale. Coffee after dinner was weak. Would recommend this place based on the food but bring earplugs or a bullhorn.

The start was good, 2 of a six party had the apple onion soup. Very good but not like onion soup. Was very creamy and the croutons were crisp with cheddar cheese. The poutine was a total dissapointment. If you have had this dish in Montréal, skip it. Frozen krinkled fries, bad consistency of cheese curd, gravy too much wine. I ordered the short ribs with the poutine which was the saltiest beef brisket I ever had the displeasure of eating. Will still try other dishes the next time.

This place is awesome! Food is unique and top notch! Inside is small– but intimate and decorated so cute! I have been here for both breakfast and dinner and the service and menu selection make it a memorable dining experience! This is our new favorite place!

This is not a tapas restaurant. For lunch they serve sandwiches, soup or salad. It was okay. I probably won’t go again. We got there at 12:00 on the dot. When we first walked in, a young man working there was doing some work behind the counter. He turned around and looked at us for a moment but did not say anything. He looked slightly agitated. Several people walked around. He eventually came over, so we stood there just under a minute. He asked if we wanted breakfast or lunch, that he would have to tell the chef what we wanted. Already this was a little strange. He then told us he would have to get a table ready for us… that they were in between shifts. It’s 12:00 and they don’t have a table ready? All the tables weren’t full. We finally sat down. My company was given a very dirty glass. It was the same young man that looked at us when we first walked in which sat us with the filthy glass… it looked like it was marinating in orange juice. The young lady that waited on us was very pleasant I must say. She was quite patient and genuinely friendly. I had a fresh brewed iced tea which didn’t quite taste right. I started with a barley soup which was pretty good. For lunch I had the Cajun Voodoo Pork on a Ciabatta Roll with the New Orleans Cajun sauce. It was a little cool, lukewarm at best. The sandwich was very hard to eat. The bread was too large, a bit heavy and quite dry. I was only able to get all the flavors of the sandwich in maybe 1 or 2 bites. Those bites were tasty, but other than that the sandwich was difficult to handle. I didn’t eat all of it which is unusual for me, I have a great appetite. This was my weekly cheat meal and i was ready to let it rip… it’s unfortunate I could not.

Very good food. We had a meatball/provolone in mushrooms special. It was served w/peppers, sun dried tomatoes and remoulade and pesto sauces. It came out rare/raw. We returned it. They remade it and did not charge us for it. Nice move! Wife had chicken pot pie(I am eating leftovers now). It is loaded w/chicken. Light gravy and topped w/puff pastry. I had the arugula salad. It was excellent. The desserts are why they are getting 4 stars. There were at least a dozen choices of cupcakes and tarts. We had pumpkin cupcake and strawberry shortcake cupcake. They were fantastic! I will be back for the food, but especially for the desserts.

Went here for breakfast was really good. Got the brisket and hash and the chorizo on flatbread. Would recommend this for anyone that likes tasty food. Very excited to go back for dinner sometime but remember to bring your drinks as they have no bar.

Conflicted. Previous dinner experience was a solid 4 stars. Excellent tapas, great service and as others have said, prices almost too reasonable for the quality! Had lunch here yesterday. Intended on trying their breakfast which is highly reviewed, but just missed the breakfast menu. Heard another customer lament that they don’t offer their delicious tapas at lunch, and I’d have to agree. I had a simple chicken salad on brioche. Despite being very hungry I was only able to eat half the bread and chicken salad — couldn’t tell if it was too rich or what. Anyway, 24 hours later and my stomach still hasn’t recovered :(. On the way home, my stomach started to feel queasy and despite having eaten almost nothing else, it still has not settled. While I didn’t get violently ill(which I would associate with food poisoning) I have not been right since this meal. Aside from this, I have to mention the very unprofessional service we experienced yesterday. Our waitress was too busy singing along to the music playing to mention that there were specials being offered(overheard another table being offered the specials, and I would have been interested in the quiche). Coffee was brought without a spoon to stir and refills were not offered. Napkins had to be requested and small cocktail napkins were provided. Training of a new employee was being done in full listening range(we heard how to seat tables, how to greet customers, how busy dinner service would be, etc). Lots of conversation between servers which was easily able to be heard by customers. Very delayed check in from server to see if all was ok. We had to bring check up to the counter to have our credit card processed. Just a markedly different experience from our dinner visit. Disappointing experience, cannot recommend this place for lunch.

Did I make a mistake by going to lunch because most people rave about brunch and dinner? I was eerily reminded of a trip to Mexico years ago when my wife and I stayed at a luxury resort only to be disappointed by the shockingly unimpressive food(with the exception of breakfast which consistent of eggs and amazing fresh fruit). So the portions were HUGE. The prices were VERYLOW. The cupcake bonanza was impressive. But the service was off. Waited too long to order. And we couldn’t figure out why we never felt comfortable. Then we watched out waitress talk to who I think was the female owner(husband and wife team?) holding our check as we sat waiting to pay for our lunch and leave. So granted. Maybe we should learn to slow down and enjoy ourselves, but the service was disjointed and inattentive. Is it weird that we were two of maybe ten people and they had no soup spoons? That kind of sums it up. Just weird right? Suggestions. Smaller portions. Raise your prices. More focus on service. I think I figured it out. I felt bad because I felt like I was watching this quaint family run business bleeding cash. Call me the weird one, but I don’t begrudge a restaurant owner making money because it’s one of the toughest businesses.

It’s actually a good place, but held up against the creativity and execution that you find at Alta in NYC or in Madrid/Barcelona, there is a long way to go. It was overly Americanized, very large portions meant for take home more that nipple sized portions. Service was very good and there is an attractive dessert buffet that you may want to check out.

Tried breakfast at this new restaurant on York Road. They have many unique offerings on the menu but I stuck with bacon and eggs and home fries. Home fries were seasoned with herbs and were delicious eggs were cooked perfectly and the thick bacon had a great smokey taste. Pricing was fair. Go try this place. I’m sure you’ll be satisfied.

Stopped here for breakfast recently. Very clean, small, super-nice staff. Only one other patron at the time eating. Very basic offerings for a tapas restaurant, or so I thought. A few different small plates with various breakfast fusion options may be a nice addition to the menu, since the whole concept is «Americanized» tapas(I’m still not sure I quite understand this theory, but what do I know). Coffee was good. I was surprised that they don’t do cappuccino or lattes considering the European influence. I ordered an omelet with goats cheese and tomato, a little bit skimpy on the cheese. My sister had the Creole Morning and said it was nice. Probably won’t be back for breakfast but would try again for dinner.

We came here for breakfast on my birthday. It is NOT a tapas place at breakfast, but that didn’t stop us from pretending it was. We ordered the bananas foster crepes, crab ramekin, filet eggs Benedict, and the Spanish torte. The bananas foster crepes were delicious. Could be served as a dessert with ice cream. The eggs Benedict was very good. My favorite was the crab ramekin. The torte was served with a side of potatoes and two eggs over medium which seems redundant for a potato egg dish. Overall the food was very good and the service was great.

Tina and crew are awesome! I’ve eaten here twice — once last week with the hubs and tonight with a group of 9(including 2 kids) in the Crystal Room. Last week’s meal included poutine, duck spring rolls, and crab cakes. All amazing, but a special shout out to the poutine which I had been craving for awhile and it satisfied the craving and then some with its gooey deliciousness! After such an awesome experience, I quickly booked the Crystal Room and tonight hosted a party of 9 for a special occasion. I worked with Tina on the menu and everything came out perfect. The entire group was beyond impressed. We started with the baked brie(are you kidding me with this? Most amazing baked brie I have ever had. Included nuts and berries and honey in the crust and it was literally the most spectacular(looking and) tasting dish!), duck spring rolls(again! These are killer), calamari and shrimp(not a huge seafood person so can’t comment but the table was very complimentary.) Believe it or not, this was the first of three courses. Our salads came out and again — are you kidding? A delicious fresh spring mix with berries, nuts, goat cheese and an awesome dressing. Another highlight! Finally two main courses — salmon and the gnocchi and short ribs. Again, can’t speak for the salmon but table said it was cooked to perfection and super flavorful! Came with fritters which the kids loved and so did all the adults! The short rib gnocchi probably received the most compliments of the night. Tender, juicy, not too heavy like some pasta. Really such a treat. Not to forget the service we received was amazing. Eric managed our entire group and was outstanding despite kids running, crying on occasion, and even a couple spills. He was good natured, fast paced and well informed. We will absolutely continue to frequent Tapas on York. It has, over the course of two amazing meals, become a favorite!

This review is for brunch… Four of us shared: bananas foster crepes, challah french toast with pecans, brisket hash and filet benedict. Everything was delicious! Especially the breakfast potatoes that are well-seasoned and crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. The bananas foster sauce was caramely and full of rum flavor. I spooned up the leftover sauce… because I couldn’t help it. Challah french toast had plenty of pecans and a rich, dark syrup, and a good dusting of powdered sugar. Brisket«hash» was pieces of tender brisket served with eggs your style. Suggest eggs be over-easy to melt the velvety yolks into the meat and potatoes. Filet bennecict is served with a portion of filet, cooked to order, with a poached egg and yummy home-made hollandaise that you’ll be dipping the potatoes into to savor the flavor. We were so impressed, we took a peek at the dinner menu — and then joked that we would stay through to dinner.

We have twice visited Tapas on York and left happy both times. We dined there on the opening weekend. We experienced no food or service-related hiccups, which we had expected with a brand new establishment. For a starter, I had the avgolemono, a long-time fav. Tapas’ version was delicious, with the right amount of lemon and seasoning. A little surprising was the«thinness» of the broth, which had not been thickened with the traditional egg yolk. While I enjoyed the soup, I am so accustomed to the thickened version(which also has more rice) that I am unlikely to order it again even though I would have no hesitation about recommending it to others. The chicken pot pie was another matter. The pie, topped with a beautiful golden square of puff pastry was superb. The chicken and veggies were unmistakably fresh and the gravy was light. I suggest only that the dish could be enhanced with some fresh thyme. As a starter, Mr. M. ordered fried paella croquettes, which traverse his favorite flavor palette and contain his favorite sausage, chorizo. He adored the croquettes and would have ordered another plateful if his strip steak was not already on its way. The steak and mushrooms were terrific, he announced, and he looks forward to ordering the dish on our next dinner visit. Our more recent breakfast at Tapas also was terrific. Tapas’ breakfast menu is both clever and eclectic. Our table ordered Creole Morning, Brisket Hash, Spanish Style Torte and a custom frittata. Everyone was thrilled with their choices. The only quibbles were that the potatoes were a bit too brown in places and the kitchen had run out of some of the custom eggs mix-ins. These trifles will not impede a return. All in all, Tapas is a great addition to the Bucks County culinary scene and worthy of your consideration if you are looking for a memorable meal at a decent price point in middle Bucks County.

To say I left satisfied would be a huge understatement, so let me start there. We had a party of 12 in the private room and it was really very cozy in there and nice décor. I highly recommend reserving it if you have a large party and want to personalize things. We all sat down, cracked open our wines and let the night take us away. I took the recommendation of one of the other reviewers and kept my focus on the specials and boy were they right! I would have closed my eyes and picked anything off there to eat. All the concoctions were brilliant and different. Feeling overzealous, I went with three choices. The first was mussels with chorizo in a spicy tomato broth. Seriously, some of the BEST mussels I’ve ever had. Cooked perfectly and the broth was chuggable! Awesome garlic toast for dipping and the sausage was spicy goodness. I could have eaten bowls of it all night. I was actually surprised at the size of the serving considering it was tapas, they were very, very generous. Second course was lamb sliders with a mint pesto. The meat was cooked perfect and seasoned really well. They were a hit at the table as we found ourselves sharing our wonderful, tasty treats. Third was a chicken, mushroom and bacon Wellington. I’m a huge fan of Wellington so to see a different variation of it was a no-brainer for me to choose. Spectacular! Everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meals. Service was nice and attentive and it was just a great night for all! I am definitely recommending this place to anyone and everyone as they are doing a fantastic job of bringing new type of eating experience to the area. BRAVO!
