Mrs Winner’s Chicken & Biscuits

It’s weird… I just read Shane A.‘s review. My review is almost the opposite of his.
The food wasn’t bad… it was kind of like KFC but with better biscuits. I will say the kids chicken tender meal only comes with one SMALL chicken tender. I think that’s kind of cheap!
However, if you were looking for upbeat, outgoing, assertive, friendly employees, you couldn’t get WORSE! They weren’t rude, the two working up front just simply DID NOT SMILE the whole time were were there. They acted put out to have us there. What’s weird is that nobody else was in the restaurant, so it wasn’t like they were busy. This would have been the perfect time for them to engage in a little customer engagement! They didn’t. As an outgoing, gregarious personality, I tried to engage them, but any close-​ended questions I asked were always met with monotonous, one-​word answers… no elaboration or anything. At one point, I turned to my buddy and said, «hey, let’s try to kill them with kindness.» So, we tried. We obviously failed because they just weren’t having any of it.

This particular location is located just off East Fork road in Jamestown. Super easy to find.
I will start this review by saying that the building could use some TLC and updating. We came in at about 20 minutes to closing and right away the employees were funny, upbeat and accommodating to our order and needs.
The food was up quick and we sat down after making our beverage selection at the self-​serve counter.
It was unfortunate that the food wasn’t as nice to eat as the employees serving it. Everything tasted dry and greasy. We both ordered the chicken breast with a biscuit and potato wedges. Hopefully this was due to the time we came in and not a reflection on the food that is generally served. Even if that is the case I hate to see restaurants getting slack at the end of the night. If you close at 9:00pm you should serve quality food until 9:00pm; otherwise, close at 8:30.
Anyway, I will not return to this place for dinner anytime soon.
