Let me just start by saying, WOW. I’m 46 years old and been shooting since I was 11, and I’ve been in Law Enforcement for 12 years. I recently moved to the area and have not ran into one asshole since I’ve been here, until now. I went into B bar Y, looking for .22 long rifle ammo, a week ago and found it at a great price. While I was there, I noticed a Rifle scope that I needed, the two gentlemen behind the counter were knowledgable and just plain nice, I bought a $ 200 scope. Today I went in looking to buy .22LR ammo, they only had 50rd boxes, but still a good price. The«female» behind the counter asked me if I wanted .22LR, I said yes, she asked me if I wanted one or two boxes, I responded, can I buy it all, about 400Rds, she responded with a completely dick look on her face, «I said one or two» So I replied never mind. I read reviews about this place before I went in, and they obviously referred to this bag of issues. I can’t imagine keeping someone employed that runs off your patrons, because of her obvious«proud to be a bitch attitude. I work with a lot of gun and ammo hoarders, but I will tell them to go elsewhere. Maybe you should let«ANGRY» go !!!

I think the negative reviews are biased due to other business ventures! Every time I’ve been in that building I have had a positive experience… Thanks for your educated help!

Pretty good customer service, nice selection of quality firearms. Just like every gun shop you can find parts and accessories online for a lot cheaper but can’t hate them for that.

I’ve bought two guns here over the years Remington 12 gage over under, and Smith & Wesson 9 mm compact. Prices are competitive for the area as well as there selection for the area. Helpfull and knowledgeable staff, but if you really want someone to spend time and give you opinions and good descriptions of products you want to talk to Ben he’s the younger guy, the two older gentlemen are very knowledgable but not as willing to spend time to educate, talk to Ben. Great Gun Shop!

Fairly competative in prices. Very knowledgable in their business. Customer service very inconsistent; sometimes my very existance is never acknowledged and sometimes they are helpful, but never overly so. Selection in handguns is okay, but they have an obvious preference for Kimber, Glock, and Springfield XD; not the widest selection past that. Considering the lack of options in the area, they are pretty good… but if they had competition, they would mearly be another option… nothing to get up in arms about…

This is a great gun shop! The two people behind the counter were very friendly and quick to help everybody that was in the shop when they could. They seemed to have a pretty good selection of accessories, though I didn’t really look in detail to see what they had. I went in just wanting to browse their rifles and handguns. They have a very decent selection of both new and used firearms. Their military surplus rifle selection is one of the best I’ve seen in a while, and priced fairly. On the rifle racks, they had a few obligatory black polymer monstrosities, but for the most part, there was quite a bit of wood, blued steel, and brass(B-Bar-Y Traders is a Henry distributor– another plus in my book) on display. After checking out some of the gun shops that have opened up recently in Sacramento, it’s nice to walk into a place that doesn’t seem too interested in pushing the latest«tacti-cool» stuff. Don’t get me wrong, I like a mean looking AR or AK as much as the next guy, but some places can go a bit overboard. In the end, I walked away with a bit of history(or at least a receipt for one): a 1943 Lee-Enfield No.4 Mk1. The best part was that Jim(if I got his name wrong, I apologize, I’m horrible with names) worked with me a bit on the price, and shook my hand before I left. Sure, a handshake is a simple gesture that may not count for much in most circles, but it’s more than I’ve gotten at any other gun shop after plunking down a few hundred hard-earned dollars. I plan on making it a point to check out B-Bar-Y Traders whenever I’m up on the hill from now on.

You can only get helped at this store if you are a friend of the owner, I waited to even be acknowledged for about 15 minutes while 3 different buddies of the owner came in and were helped immediately. I’d hate to actually buy something here and have to bring it back for any servicing with this kind of customer service.
