I’m a huge fan of afternoon tea and I was very excited to book a Saturday seating at 3PM a few weeks ago for my mom, mother-in-law, and myself. The owner Cathy confirmed with a phone call and asked about dietary preferences or allergies. The drive there was a breeze though Google Maps(and perhaps myself) got a bit confused when we got near the railroad tracks. However, we made to the house and were able to park inside the driveway. We were greeted by Cathy’s husband and Cathy and were seated towards the back of the house. Their home is so lovely, very Victorian, cozy, homy feel to it. She still had the Christmas decorations on display which was a nice touch. Afternoon tea consisted of 7 mini courses, soup, salad, quiche, scone, tea sandwiches, dessert, and sorbet. They have an extensive tea menu, but I went with the Amaretto Biscotti as it was the suggested tea for the afternoon. All of the food was delicious, and prepared with care and love by Cathy! My favorites were the soup and salad. Our server Jan? was friendly and conscious about my Vegetarian diet.(Thanks girl!) I always appreciate an establishment that takes allergies and dietary preferences into consideration. All in all, a wonderful afternoon with great company. Very excited to return!

I wanted to love this place, I truly did and the staff was very nice, but they are not anywhere near where they should be for a tea house that is exclusively a tea house. The food just cut corners everywhere. The soup and salad started off being pretty good, but small(which is fine, since there is much more coming) The scone was totally flavorless(I had cheddar chive and it had neither a cheddar nor chive flavor) They put«clotted cream only on the table and not lemon curd and preserves as list on the menu. Next was the«Quiche». It was just a fritatta, and a dried out, flavorless, reheated one. It was broccoli cheddar and again had not an ounce of cheese flavor, just very eggy and fluffy microwaved tasting eggs. The finger sandwiches would have been a good course if it were not for the clearly from frozen blintz that was served. It seemed freezer burned and like it was just microwaved.(I would have liked to have peaked in the kitchen, because I don’t think anything came out of an oven since the morning and we had the later, 3pm seating) Next there was dessert. I only tasted one: The«mousse» which was just chocolate pudding with some cool whip or whipped cream mixed in. I had enough and was tired of being asked if things were okay, and«okay» was exactly what these things were. Other things that need improvement: 1-tea menus should be given to everyone at the table, not just one and only if you don’t like the pre-prepared selections. 2– end the pre-pepared selections, the refills don’t come unless you ask and I think if you don’t get your own pot of tea at a tea, it just seems like a missed opportunity. 3– The waitstaff could look a little less«dressed down.» I have no issue with casual attire, but in a Victorian Tea Room that is trying to create a certain experience, it just sets the tone badly. 4-Parking is TERRIBLE. It is over a block away and there is no sidewalk directly to this place(it ends the house before.) Perhaps if you are a tea novice you will be happy with this place, but if you frequent tea rooms, like I do. pass it and go to someplace way better.

Everything about this place is delightful! The tea room is in the owners Victorian home that’s tastefully decorated and spacious. The afternoon tea at $ 30 per person consists of 7 courses all prepared fresh and well portioned so you’re not bursting by the end of the meal. You get a pot of tea in an adorable tea cozy with the meal and refills are at no additional charge.(Bear in mind if you’re looking for an authentic English afternoon tea experience, this isn’t quite it but there’s still plenty of tea and scones with clotted cream and jam to be had!) The owners are a married couple who are incredibly hospitable and devoted to great customer service. Since there is limited parking on the street and I had to park in a lot around the corner, the husband drove my friend and I to our car so we wouldn’t have to walk. I had a wonderful time here and definitely intend on going in the near future! Note: They are only open for tea on the weekend and reservations need to be made at least 48 hours in advance. Parking is somewhat limited since this is in a residential area but call the owners when you are heading out so they can let you know where the closest available parking is.(It won’t be farther than around the corner!)

Lovely tea salon set in a Victorian home. Delicious food and blueberry iced tea. I celebrated my birthday and they brought me a special dessert on the house. Lovely way to spend a couple of hours in a unique and friendly setting.
