The food is so delicious but expensive. Very poor customer service though. So many servers but no one to take an order. When no costumers ate around still each server are busy doing God knows what but taking the order. So finally, ended up having this waitress take my order every time I come at night time because had escalated the situation. Don’t even know if there is a restroom there, no restroom signs anywhere. Décor is okay. The place is pretty clean but not sure about sanitary.

Ive been to this place several times and the food isnt bad but service isnt always the best. They’re also cheap with their sauces. Every time I order chicken lollipop they dont have the sauce. Theres only a little left or they ran out and I go there for the sauce. I went there yesterday and you can tell the food was microwaved especially the chicken lollipop which tasted yucky. While going to the bathroom I noticed there were salad plates on top of the garbage. Which made me curious if they serve those plates to the customers. I mentioned that to the waiter and he said no we throw it out so I asked him why didn’t you throw these out the garbage is right there and he responded dont worry I gave you fresh salad. I also remember last time I went there some bengali women was washing the salad in the sink and she was biting on to a carrot. After she saw me come in she throw the bitten carrot back in the bowl she was washing the salad.

I have been at Tikka Garden few times. Their customer service sucks really. Other day I have waited for 15 minutes just get the catering menu. The guy just pretended that I don’t exist. I’m giving 4 stars cuz their food is quite good.

I think tikka garden is great for affordable naan and kababs. I love their Bihari kabab the best out of all their kababs. I also like their muglai porota, which is really spicy by the way! I love spicy food and have a high tolerance for spicyness but it is really spicy for me. If you don’t like spicy food, you can ask them to make it without the peppers and spices. I haven’t tried their regular food outside of the kababs and naan so I can’t comment on that. I wish they made chicken tikka masala, but that is more of an Indian dish. Also, this isn’t a fancy restaurant or anything but there is a lot of seating available.

This restaurant has a lot of flash, but no substance. The place is really spacious, clean, and the prices are cheap. But you go there for the food, and to me, the food was poor. Like really poor. The chicken tikka masala tastes bitter. As if someone dropped a bucket load of salt on it. And the mixed grill they serve were cold as ice. I sent it back twice and still wasn’t hot enough. Service was so so. I’ll give them a pass as it was quite busy. But as Simon Cowell would say, it’s still a no from me.

The only reason I gave them 2 stars and not one is because their food is good. Other than that, I been here maybe 5 times and EVERYTIME I go there and stand in the front I have to call someone or force my way in. If you’re not desi, they will just ignore you while other desi people will be served right away with almost no delay. I even call them out and hey still ignore me and pretend they don’t here me when I want to other something. One of the few places I feel offended cause Im not a particular race.

Horrible service! We went there in the afternoon on a saturday and the place was pretty empty. We sat there for a good 8 mins before the waiter gave us the menu. We then waited 10 more to order, I kept on waving at the waiter right in front me but he seemed entranced by the tv behind me. My dad had to get up and go upto him. I wanted to leave and go to Sagar chinese but my parents wanted to stick it out. Boy were we sorry We ordered red curry with beef, chicken corn soup, naan and fish dish with gravy. After 20 mins and near starvation. The waiter got our order wrong he bought in a family style gigantic bowl of soup when we asked for single. Horrible soup, like drinking chicken broth with no salt. The fish had no salt, curry was so so. A big waste of time that I used to taunt my parents with I told u so’s Before leaving we went out through the café area and got tea(which was good) and carefully dolled out 3 napkins.

Tried the murg polao, garlic naan and chicken reshmi kebab. All of them were very good for their price. Definitely better than similar restaurants in the neighbourhood. Food was fresh, the restaurant was clean-ish. The girl who waited on us was nice enough. We are certainly going back there to try the other items.

TIKKAGARDEN!!! i love me some food from BANGLADESH i love this place, and I always end up going here when ever I am in that part of queens. My friend and I love to go here at different hours of the day and have been there so many times already that I feel like I have eaten almost everything there. First of all this place is big, they have nice seating arrangements and its nicely lit and spacious. There is a party hall in the basement where they do small gatherings for groups or have regular customers sit there if the restaurant gets over croowded. There is also outside seating which is cool but it doesnt really matter to me really. Lets start by talking about bhorta, I love their different bhortas so delicious and they have almost every type of bhorta u can imagine. Then there are the bengali vegetable cooked in that perfect bengali home made way… wow just heaven I tell you Then ofcourse you have the desserts and you have the mainstream dishes such as biriyani and murg pulao, all of them are fantastically prepared. If you go there please try their whole tilapia. Or any fish from there menu, you will not regret it and go back for more. One of the best Bangladeshi food places I have been to. Will go back soon next week.

Display case with many yummy dishes, difficulty conveying what you want because nobody speaks English well, microwave to heat it up. I like vegetarian food, and this place has good vegetarian food, very yummy spicy. I love Bangladesh restaurants.

I’ve eaten here many times and reminded myself to do a review, but before writing one I had to look at other reviews to see why it got a 3 star rating. The complaints: service, confusing, typical(Indian) food items not available and microwave usage. Important thing to understand is that this place is unabashed Bengali, not necessarily catering to others but certainly welcoming. It can be confusing for a typical NYC restaurant goer but it’s NOT designed for you. The service is actually excellent and accommodating, the problem is language. Confusing, OK I’ll grant you that a little bit — you can order at the steam-top table or from the menu in the main hall. Microwave usage, get over it, you are in NYC and getting food at a great price. If you like your food to be not piping hot then tell them not to nuke it. The food is flavorful, delicious, rich and authentic, it is not 3rd rate Indian restaurant food, so please don’t even bother comparing. The best way to order, unless you know exactly what you want is to look at the display and decide,(good luck with the translation). I suggest you get half plates of many things that you’ve never had and large plates of food that you really want. You are not going to be disappointed. Their biryanis are amazing. Best korma I’ve had in a long time. Always ask for fish, it will be spicy and is cooked in a hundred different ways. If you like fish without the bone then don’t bother but for the brave it’s heavenly(always get rice with fish). We like to do breakfast here also. Try what we have: omlet(it will have onions, tomatoes, fesh coriander and possibly green chillies), paratha, kidneys, shami kebab and halva. Have it with cholestorol melting(I wish) tea. I admit, if what you wanted to eat is not available it can be annoying but the choices here make up for that minor offence. Bathroom could be cleaned more often.

I had my bridal shower/Holud here last night. Service was very good. Everyone raved about the food. They let my family decorate the back anyway they wanted, including nailing in some decorations on their brick walls. My guests and I were very happy. I am giving it 4 stars only because, the back yard could be a tiny bit cleaner.

I went here on the 4th of July w my friend. The service was awful. We asked for veggie samosas… didn’t have it. We asked for shammi kabab… didn’t have it. We asked for masala tea… DIDN’T HAVEIT. We went around 7pm, how is this possible?! Since my friend was craving Indian food, we got chicken tikka masala and naan. The food was good, we’d give it a 4⁄5. The naan was soft, and the tikka had a different taste then your typical, but still good. Note: the food is NOTMADETOORDER. Instead there’s a microwave that sits in the front. I wouldn’t go back bc the staff was not paying attention to us and they were sloppy when they packed our food to go. Go with caution, and if you speak urdu or hindi USEIT.

First of all this place is very spacious comparing to many Bangali restaurants. They are well knows for their chicken samosa’s. Food and service both is good. Very quiet and relaxing environment. Planning to go soon and order a big dinner as well as take out’s.

The Hillside/Jamaica area of Queens is home to a lot of Guyanese, Indian, Sri Lankan, &Bengali food. You can walk out of the 169th st and 179th st stations on the F and it smells like curry already. Then there’s Tikka Garden which totally looks modern, clean, and unlike most hole in the wall places, it’s kinda inviting. We walked in and scanned the menu and there’s a bunch of already made food. I ordered a beef biryani and my friend ordered the beef curry. Bengali food is made spicier than your average catered to the American palate Indian food so beware if you’re not a fan of the spiciness. The whole setup of the restaurant was a little confusing, there’s another restaurant part where they’ve the catering hall I guess? Anyways, when you order your food, it’s kinda unnerving to see them heat it up in the microwave right in front of you. While I did enjoy my beef biryani, I think the meat was slightly dry from the microwave. They’ve different weekend specials/specials on different days of the week so make sure to ask. If you’re unsure of what something is, ask! Portions are humongous and served with a mountain of rice. I really want to try the kebabs next time and the samosas seem pretty promising as well. Just know that your food won’t be freshly prepared/customized and that it’s simply reheated.

I don’t know why this place is still open!!. This places is definitely deceiving, it looks great and modern looking from the outside but the food was horrible! We ordered the Biriyani and it tasted like mustard oil, it was sooo greasy. I’m a Bengali and know what good biriyani is supposed to taste like. I was upset by their customer service as well, when i called to complain about the food they said they would try to fix the problem and simply hung the phone up. their horrible food explains why the place is soo empty. I went there to break my fast for Ramadan, after not eating all day i lost my appetite when getting the food, that’s how bad it was!

I ate here for a family friend’s baby shower and it was really delicious. keep in mind it was catered food and they served curry lamb, chicken, rice pilaf, and samosas. It is real bangladeshi food! The food didn’t taste at all like it came from a restaurant, but from some one’s kitchen. It wasn’t too greasy, but it was spicy so if you can’t handle the heat I would be aware. The chicken was especially delicious because it’s hard to find bangladeshi style chicken in NYC, but they have it here! I’m not sure if the buffet food would be the same, I imagine that catered food would taste better so can’t comment on that.

So I asked a friend what was the best Bengali food around the Hillside area. She said Tikka Garden. Now we have to try it out. We went and ordered at the buffet tray area and sat at the nice restaurant area. On the TV was Bengali programming… — Samosas — Crispy giant triangles with meat filling. I like the crispy thin wrappers more than the thick ones. — Mutton Biryani — delicious. Tender pieces of mutton with good Bengali-styled fried rice. — Roasted Eggplants — Really really good eggplants. The flavor just pops out. I think I just found my favorite biryani place.
