Called today and found out they have CLOSED. I’m very sad. This was the best place for Soul Food I knew of in Queens. Take some time and call the phone number and listen to the message. I will miss this family and their food.

This is one of the best dining experiences I’ve had in ages! The owners (a husband and wife) run the restaurant. I’m not sure I’ve ever met two more welcoming, lovely people in all my life! When we were there, their adorable granddaughter was hiding behind the bar giving us little glances when she thought we weren’t looking. What a cutie!
The food was outrageously good and the servings were HUGE! I had ribs and chicken — both were succulent. My mother had the pork chops, and they were fork tender. We couldn’t stop raving about the sweet potatoes. Rebecca, the owner, guaranteed us that the sweet potatos were easy — it was the oven that did the work. Well, she must have a magic oven because in a million years I could never create anything so delicious!
The best (worst?) part of the evening came when we went out to my car to head home. .. and the battery was dead. I went inside to ask if they had recommendations of who I should call and before I could get the words out of my mouth, the owner (the husband) said, «Oh, I’ll be right out to jump you!» Within minutes he had turned his car around and was teaching me how to jump a car (which as a Manhattanite, I had no idea how to do!)
This is not just a great place to eat, but a great place to feel like family. I don’t live close, but I’ll make a point out of driving there regularly for a good meal. And, yes, I’m on Unilocal today finding a mechanic for my car! :-)

Even when I was full, I kept on eating. When your stomach says no and your head says yes, you know you’re in the presence of terrific food. I had the ribs, mac-​n-​cheese and Hallelujah Yams (hallelujah!). And then tried my friend’s collard greens. Hallelujah! And his chicken… you know the answer.
The couple who own the place also deserve a Hallelujah! Glorious folks and glorious food… nothing much else to say except make the trip.

We just finished… well it’s impossible to actually finish the abundant amount of food… that arrived and indeed it was good. My husband had fried chicken that was cooked perfectly and I had ribs falling off the bone. The mac and cheese is the real thing and the potato salad was like home made. The green beans were not the way I enjoy them but many people like them overcooked.
Delivery was much slower than expected but the food was well worth the wait.

I LOOOVE Soulfully Yours. The idea that it is only a husband and wife cooking has me sold. It’s like your mama cooking in the kitchen.

At the last minute my friend and I were looking for somewhere to go eat and relax. We decided to go here after seeing all of the great Unilocal reviews and we loved it. The restaurant is owned by a very nice couple who treat you like family and provide great service. I got the turkey legs, mac and cheese, string beand and cornbread for $ 12 and it was delicious! The portions were so big that I had a lot of leftovers. I would definitely recommend them if you are looking to eat some authentic down home soul food :)

We ordered from them while staying at the Hampton Inn — JFK Hotel. The food arrived hot. It took about an hour to get the food, but it was worth the wait! The Turkey Wings are great! The fried fish was good and very lightly battered.
I think they are cash only.

I found this sould food spot on Unilocal and am very pleased. It was bookmarked for a few months. Unilocal reviewers said the food was great and they didnt lie. Its a small dated restaurant with a few tables and chairs and a big counter area to sit. The owners are supercool and offered me a few bites to taste since I was a newbie. The food looked and taste absolutely delicious. I got there about 3pm on a Saturday so they were stll bringing food out. I got the meatloaf, macaroni and cheese and yams and everything was nicely seasoned and I felt like I was in my mom’s kitchen. The prices are fair and the portions are big enough to eat for two days unless you have big stomach. I definitely found another soul food spot in Queens that I will return to and dont have to wait on long crazy lines to get some good grub.

What a great spot! It’s a small mom and pop owned restaurant. The owners are as sweet and friendly as ever, the service is great too. Most importantly the food is umm umm good! The portions are very generous!
Now the place is by no means fancy. I got my food to go and didn’t sit (there didn’t seem to be enough seating) but the hospitality makes up for their décor. This is a great place and I highly recommend it.
The don’t take credit cards yet so bring cash.

I’ve eaten at almost every Soul Food spot in Queens and this is, by far, the best. Their fried chicken and mac and cheese are to die for. The customer service is also amazing… I’ve been coming here consistently for over a year and don’t plan on stopping anytime soon.

Great people, great food, great service. Nice place for a family dinner and you are treated like family too! Five of us went, each ordering different meals: turkey wings, baked chicken, whiting, and bbq ribs and all different sides: mac and cheese, string beans, sweet potatoes, collard greens, potato salad, and rice. The food is delicious AND healthy! While the portion size is definitely enough for one full meal or more, finishing your dinner doesn’t leave you feeling heavy and slow. Soul food that tastes good and is good for you. Who knew?

Realy great place to enjoy some fall off the bone ribs and great Mac an cheese and the cornbread we had fresh from the oven was amazing… the owner treats you like family … Would give 6 stars if I could

Warm service and a smile greets you when you enter this restaurant. The furniture may be stuck in an era long passed, but the FOOD is what its all about here.
We had the BBQ Chicken, Ribs, collards, mac and cheese, yams, turkey wings and cornbread.
We washed it all down with their AMAZING homemade lemonade.
Everything was delicious. Home made goodness.
The husband/​wife team made it extra special and we felt like family.
This was absolutely worth the trip, and we would do it again in a heartbeat. Didn’t get to try their catfish, but I plan to go back again soon to check it and the potato salad out.

I had to do another review .This is the best Soul food joint on Sutphin blvd… I come here and get Turkey Wings .BBQ ribs and Collard Greens and when u walk in it look like u in a bar… I guess it used to be. but the food here is very good.

Good food and Good people ! I dont have a kitchen right now, and SY came to the rescue and fast delivery. mac and cheese is so yummy, ribs are delish and tender ! potato salad is great !

The fried whiting is amazing! I’m also a fan of the potato salad. I’ve had the turkey wings which were also pretty good. The folks that run this establishment are very kind and friendly. I love to come here. I haven’t come across many soul food spots in Queens that I actually like, but I find myself always coming back here.

My husband and I were planning our trip to NYC and we wanted to take our grandmother out to lunch somewhere near her home. We searched Unilocal and found this restaurant. I called and received a very welcoming voice and explained situation and was told that she would email a menu. This was the wife of the husband and wife team that own the business. Her daughter emailed a menu. So, we visited NYC and took grandmother to the restaurant and we had a WONDERFUL TIME. This is a down home place, we each order the following:
Me– Pigs feet (special of the day), mac and cheese, string beans and cornbread… Pigs feet and mac and cheese were Excellent. String beans and cornbread were good.
Hubby — Salisbury steak, mac and cheese and can’t remember his side dish, but he LOVED it. I tasted the Salisbury steak and it was delicious… melted in my mouth.
Grandma — Baked chicken, green beans (I think) and mac and cheese and cornbread. She ate some there and ate the rest for another meal.
All servings were huge and FAST service. The food was fresh it was like you were visiting someone’s home. Seriously, give it a try. The husband and wife team make you feel so comfortable and welcome. I did not get a chance to meet the young lady that emailed the menu, but thank you to all of you! I’ll be back the next time I am in NYC and Grandma has already returned to get a meal to go. She ordered while at church down the street, went by and it was ready. So good if you do not want to cook Sunday dinner or any dinner! Y’all give it a try!

This has to be the best soul food in Queens. I been around for a while so trust me. So far everything that i had there has been excellent. The BBQ Ribs, Salisbury Steak, and Turkey Wings all perfectly cooked. The Collard Greens, Mac and Cheese, Potato Salad, Candied Yams, and Vegetable Medley also great. Give them a try u wont be disappointment.

New family owned soul food spot that my brother in law mentioned that we had to try. I’ve been once so far and intend to go again (the father mentioned that they deliver all over Queens depending on the amount of the order). The place has been open for like 9 months. We ordered the whiting with yams, collard greens, turkey wings, mac and cheese with red rice. The fish was made to order so we had to wait a little bit. The whiting, yams and collard greens are the best I’ve had from a restaurant since I’ve moved up to NY. Everything else was good, but no reason to smack stepmomma…
