Dunkin’ Donuts

One reason why I love New York. We definitely do run on Dunkin lol
After reading some reviews, it appears that there is some confusion about this location. Now to be fair there are several DD within a mile radius.
This location 146 – 17 is located next to the Capital One Bank. This location is open 24 hours however there is no drive thru as this location is very small.
After coming to this location for years (before I joined Unilocal) I will admit that it’s your average location. I’ve read reviews about how rude some of the staff are and I agree. There are a few workers who aren’t the kindest or most pleasant people but then you have some who truly are friendly. There is one woman who always asks about my dad. She definitely is vested in her customers.
With regards to long lines, that should be expected since this location is near several bus stops, the LIRR and subway. Plus I have never had an issue with getting my order quickly once I ordered. For the amount of people that go to this location, I think they do a good job.

This is one of the few good dunkins. Fast service. The place is clean. And the staff is friendly. Drive through is convenient. The parking is ok if they’re not busy. Some people like the sit in their cars and read the paper though. Otherwise this dunkin is cool.

I don’t like to be rushed… at all. If anything it makes me move slower. Not that that means I want slow service. I just want my server to be patient with me. Especially if there is only one person behind me in line. Just wait until I take my receipt before you start taking the order behind me please.
I love dunkin just like any other sand individual and I get disappointment when I don’t have a great experience at a location. The service was not the friendliest but acceptable service. I understand in the area, it can get busy and they may not always get the nicest patrons but still.
I will say my medium iced coffee with whole milk and sugar was made very well. i didn’t have to ask for any adjustments. That is always the business!

My favorite DD in queens. First off there’s a drive-​through and parking! Besides the location close to my house, there are no other DD close to me with drive-​throughs. This location is a way off from me but after hours I like to make the trip for my latte urges here specifically. Why? because they have a singing, happy go lucky, Indian guy taking your orders at night! I love this guy! He literally sings and takes your orders and sings and talks to you! Has he been sniffing the coffee beans and eating all the sugar? Who cares! He’s awesome! Every time I go he proposes to me and tells me a new name he has for himself. That cheery and optimistic attitude is something rare and lacking in NYC. I will continue to make the trip here (at night) for a little bit of that.

This dunkin donuts is great. The employees always remember my name and order. They make sure I get my coffee or tea exactly the way I like it. Unfortunately, they need a security guard in this neighborhood to kick out all the people begging for money inside and at the front door.

By far one of the worst Dunkin Donuts that I’ve ever been to! I have been here a few times when in the area around Jamaica station (I take the LIRR daily) and this location always seems to get worse and worse. Here’s a list of what I can think of off of the top of my head:
–very small, tight space
–during the rush hour service is super slow
–employees are not so friendly
–there are constantly people begging for money or acting like they are strung out in and around the shop (feels dangerous)
–the coffee is TERRIBLE… I don’t know if it’s the water or they burn it, but it’s bitter in a very bad way and once I was served spoiled milk at this location
–the baked items are stale (I got a muffin that tasted like it was there for a week… and it was super dry)
I don’t like giving anywhere a bad review which is why I tried to go to this shop during a non rush hour time — it’s still the same with not many people in there.
There are a slew of other issues that I’ve had here, but these are the ones that I can think of off of the top of my head.

I hate this location so much. First time I came, they messed up my order, fine. Second time, they purposely gave me less change than I was due, then acted like I was crazy when I called them on it. Third time I came for my free birthday cone and they initially insisted that they didn’t accept it, then said I’d have to pay 99c bc that was their current special on soft serve cones, then agreed to give me my cone but handed me soft serve without asking what I wanted. I showed them that the voucher allowed me to choose any scoop and they finally conceded. Can’t a gal just enjoy her bday scoop?! I hate this location, but with choices so limited here in Jamaica, I guess I should be thanking my lucky stars there’s even a DD here.

Asked for a black coffee, sweet. They gave me a coffee with milk or cream. I walked back two blocks to get another cup. Told them they screwed up my coffee, and the lady asked, «did you finish it»? To which I replied, «no I threw it out, I can’t drink milk or cream it’ll make me sick». They charged me for another cup, and didn’t even apologize.
And on another note… the place is rather small. The have two tables in the back that seats four. Up by the front window is a counter that wraps around the front area so you can stand and eat or drink.

Pretty fast service here. Service speed usually depends on location and for a busy area like this I am happy to say they are pretty fast at their job of getting you what you need and getting you out the door asap. The line sometimes can be daunting. literally scary but it does move.

No frills coffee, tasted a tad watered down but did the job for my caffeine fix.

Long lines especially in the morning because of the location, however the service is pretty quick.

I love Dunkin Donuts, because I love donuts. I don’t exactly love this location though. But my problem here was the guy at the counter who kept trying to make small talk. I couldn’t even fully understand him. But their food is good enough, it’s just Dunkin Donuts not any more special than any other location.
I did just remember something very sweet that happened to me here years ago. But that’s not gonna help their rating.

I’ve noticed the tie in between Dunkin Donuts and Baskin Robbins in the USA.
This location was near my hotel in Queens and I went there in search of a small sweet treat. My favourite flavour is B&R ice cream, Gold Medal Ribbon, is hard to find in the UK these days and it was an easy choice once I had spied it.
Unfortunately, at 9pm, the staff were struggling to cope with the line customers in the restaurant and the takeout. The menu items seemed to be quite elaborate to make, hence the delay.
My ice cream was just what I needed when I got it eventually but the long wait means my experience was only worth 3 stars.
