Im from the south and i know fried chicken. There chicken was not good at all. Saw the menu of this establishment on line and loved the fact that they delivered to my hotel near jfk. The delivery was fast and the food is what you pay for. Everything seems to have been frozen(chicken tenders, beef patty, pizza egg rolls) you can’t beat the price. Especially for new York. The food was not nasty but wasn’t good either, the sweet potato pie was good :)

You can always count on Crown for some bomb fried chicken and cheap chicken combos. However, if you purchase any other meat here, be prepared to have your bowels in flux for the next day or so. It’s great if you want to lose weight in the short term, but in the long run, you’re only hurting yourself… literally. Crown Fried Chicken can only be found in the most in-austere of locales. It’s food for the hood baby and if you ever see one pop-up in your town, call your realtor immediately. 2 pcs., fries, a biscuit, and a can of soda. 4 balloons…

Oh booooy, this place is slooow. There is 1 cashier to take and serve orders, taking ~10 minutes to serve the 4 people in front of me. I finally made my way to the front and ordered the Snack Box which includes 2 pieces of chicken, a biscuit, and small styrofoam container of mashed potatoes and gravy for $ 4.30($ 3.95 + tax). Not too shabby. The cashier gets on the microphone and shouts«Snack Box», and slowly turns around to get my order at the preparation table. My boxed food, a plastic spoon, and 6 napkins were placed in a ‘I Love New York’ and I was on my way. The chicken was what one would expect at a place like this, skin extra crispy and orange-toned in color giving its subtle spice. The meat on the leg was juicy, but the breast meat was slightly dry. Tasty, yet typical for chicken sitting in a glass buffet table for who knows how long. The biscuit was proportionately large in size. Fresh but slightly dry. Some melted butter would have been nice. The mashed potatoes were of the creamy consistency, topped with brown gravy to make it a bit more appetizing. Other random tidbits: — The place was fairly clean especially at all the foot traffic I always see this place getting — There are 8 small tables to sit at — Some interesting specials such as 6 mozzarella sticks for less than $ 2; Crown Special which includes a chicken sandwich, fries, and 16 oz. soda for $ 4.60, 6 hot wings for $ 5 and change. — No public bathrooms

Nothing like fried chicken after a day at belmont park. If you ever find yourself at Belmont Park missing the LIRR back to Jamaica, take the Q110 bus along Jamaica Ave. to 153st and you’re only a few blocks away from this delicious chicken. It’s a little heavy on the spice and not as juicy as the colonel’s, but a great value nonetheless.
