Su Cousineau the owner of Taproot Healing, and a trained Shiatsu practitioner, herbalist, and Chinese Medicine specialist, is truly amazing. She gives a full, individualized plan of how to cope with muscular and/or emotional issues in a whole self, mind-body way through herbs, massage, and lifestyle choices. In the first session, she does a full intake, and gives the best one hr massage I’ve ever experienced! I fell asleep twice, and woke feeling rested, relaxed, and clear-headed. Su was also able to give me suggestions about my Chi(Chinese medicine term for energy), was correct in assessing medical problems I already knew about: tendency towards Anemia, low blood pressure(not really a problem), and my tendency towards feeling cold(I have Raynaud’s Syndrome), just from asking questions, looking at my tongue,(yes, she does that — something about Chinese Medicine), and then from the massage. Her work is very thorough, and I got the sense that she really knows what she’s talking about. She offers a sliding scale or barter for services, and so, even her rates are«tailor made»(as she writes) to fit each person’s needs. This does not preclude going to the doctor or Western Medicine, but is really an adjunct to it. And, I’ve felt better for days since my massage! I felt so rested and cared for! I’m definitely returning for a monthly massage from her, and also to get a full assessment and herbal tonic(which she creates) to decrease stress, increase immunity, and decrease allergies. The space is in the Cambridge Health Associates building, a kind of house with multi-levels, much light, a wonderfully quiet and clean space of massage therapists and psychotherapists. And, her office has a(free) parking lot in back, to boot! Su is 5(really 10) stars. Her work is fabulous, her prices are very reasonable, and I highly, highly recommend her.
