The food was fresh and exceptionally delicious. The aroma of the kitchen hits you when you walk in the door and It had me hooked. It is one part grocery and one part restaurant. The staff was friendly and willing to describe anything on the menu. I had a lamb gyro and falafel. The fresh pita was placed on the side and the lamb shredded over lettuce, tomato and onion. The sauce was put on the side as well. I hope more people find out about this place!

Very delicious gyros, schwarma, & tabbouleh. Even though it looks scary on the outside it is worth the trip here.

One reviewer warned not to be thrown off by the location in the strip… and they were right. We ordered two gyros and a Greek salad to split it was plenty. We took home some of each. The cost was $ 21 and well worth it. The meat was plentiful and lean. The salad large, was fresh with lots of creamy feta! I can’t say there was any atmosphere here to eat, I would get it to.

Don’t be put off by the outside! Looks sketchy, even when you walk in. I got the falafel platter with a side of curly fries and grape leaves(wanted to try everything) and it was enough food for 3 meals, and I think it was under 15 dollars. So much food for the price! It was absolutely delicious, and the employees working were friendly. I’ll for sure be back here. So good!

This was our first time trying Wally’s Gyros and it did not disappoint. The shop and grocery are tucked into a rundown plaza and easy to miss. The menu has a variety of sandwiches, wraps and platters. Hubby and I opted to go with the namesake Gyro and a chicken wrap(he’s a hearty eater and we weren’t sure about portion sizes). Wally is here serving the tables and he’s a nice chap; the place has been open since 1998. Our food arrived within about 10 mins which gave me time to check out the market(found some items I could use at home). Back to the lunch feast… TONS of meat in the gyro — I literally had pieces left over after I ate it! The meat was tender and flavorful, the sauce and veggies fresh and complimentary. We both give it a 10. The chicken wrap was very good but felt it was overshadowed by how good the gyro was. We will be back!

When in Jacksonville this is the he Go To place for Gyros, hummus„ kibbi, and anything else Mediterranean. I usually get the Gyro platter which is enough for two people. Great place

The low key store front makes you think twice, but the food is worth going in. They have a mid eastern grocery store attached to the dining area. But front the taste everything is fresh cooked. The fact that Mom was in the kitchen reassured us of the quality. Lamb in gyro was tender and juicy. Hit the spot.

Highest quality food served here, you can tell the difference. I get the falafel platter every time, the sauce is decadent — whipped to a consistency no other place compares to.

We gave it 4 stars because you can’t give half stars or it would have received 3.5 stars. We decided since the food met our expectations we haveit 4 instead of 3. Only 4 choices of soda(coffee, diet coke, sprite & orange Fanta). They also have sweet, unsweet tea and tap water. The wait was reasonable for the lunch rush. We ordered two gyro wraps and one as a meal which meant a side of fries and a drink for $ 16. A sign by the sofa machine said 1 refill for soda and 3 for tea, but no sharing. I ordered a 2nd drink for $ 1.40. There was plenty of meat and it was very tasty. We didn’t need the fries though they were good and seasoned nicely. Not a lot of room for eating in. About 3 people it seemed to cook, take orders and answer any questions about the store that is attached.

Shawarma, Shawarma, the best I have had in Jacksonville. Food is fresh, people are friendly and there’s a neat little market to pick up some specialty items if you like to cook at home.

They have very good and fresh food here. They are very friendly. They have been in this location for quite a long time. I am just sorry I did not come here sooner. The Gyro and friends are my favorite! I dare you to check them out. You will not be disappointed. They have a store attached also. They have baklava for dessert.

I’m Syrian and constantly crave Arab food and grocery items. Wally’s is the place to go! For a hole in the wall in a very ‘unique’ neighborhood(let’s hear it for A-town!) Wally’s is a gem. They have a dazzling array of spices, coffee, tea, candy, dairy, and meat mainly from or prepared in the style of the Levant or greater Middle East. The food from the kitchen is the standard street and café fare in the Middle East. The employees are very friendly and I always have fun catching up with them. A true asset to Jax, sahtein to all!

Since we were down town for One Spark we thought we would slide over to Wally’s to grab some items from their market as well as a gyro and fries. Once again we were MORE then happy with the amount of meat verses rabbit food. It was so good we even brought a pound of meat so I could make us some at home.(yes, we had one this morning). Their was a grandmother coming in to buy baklava as we were leaving. So I am confident in saying Wally’s has something for everyone. Take the time to discover or as we did RE-discovered a great off the beaten path jewel.

We gave it a chance based on the other favorable reviews, and we’re glad we did! I almost turned around when we first walked in – the décor is very minimal(think dentist waiting room) and we were the only ones in the place. But! Starvation and adventurous spirit took over and we ended up with a delicious lunch. Gyro pita, chicken pita, both were delicious and generously filled. The fries were fresh, with a great seasoning, not just an afterthought. Super happy with the choice, thanks Unilocal!!!

Go here and order a falafel sandwich. It is as good as anywhere in the U.S. or the world. I’m not sure why anyone would order anything else here. There is nothing to compare to it anywhere nearby Jacksonville or in most major city. Yes, your falafel sandwich comes perfectly cooked with delicious sauce and pink rectangular pickles. Jacksonville is fortunate to have this gem — after a half year living in my home city I can only say that about one other ethnic restaurant discovery.

Wally’s is a good lil Mediterranean grocery and sandwich shop all I can comment about on here are their gyros and fries as that’s all I ever order. The gyros are absolutely great hot off the rotisserie with fresh onions lettuce and tomatoes and a super tazheki cucumber and sour cream parsley) The fries are made when you order them so their nice n hot and well salted. They also have hummus, felafel’s, cous cous as well as hamburgers and regular sandwiches. Sorry no beer or alcohol as its an Arabic run establishment.
