Total Hair Experience Salon

Total Hair Experience opened their Salon just a few miles from my Southside residence. I decided to give them a try and was certainly not disappointed. Chrissy Strum helped me decide on a hair style and was extremely patient with my questions. She explained what options were best for my type of hair and recommended products that were necessary and not mere merchandising pushes. One gel proved to not to be effective as my hair grew to a new length and they exchange it for a more suitable product at no charge. It is relaxing and well designed Salon filled with positive energy and attentive professionals. I would highly recommend the Salon for men who are looking to graduate from barber shop cuts such as myself.

I got a Brazilian blowout there by Gretchen! I love it! I am new to the area and went in and met with Ben an owner who really was nice to talk too! He set up my appointment with Gretchen who did an amazing job with my hair! I am so going back here for all services.

Sherrie was amazing!!! She fixed my hair from a really bad experience. She is really sweet and helpful. Will def be going here from now on!

I am visiting Jacksonville and saw this salon uses Olaplex! So i wanted to see if they can help me as a walk-​in customer to become a blonde! They organized to move some customers around so I was able to get in immediately and from a brown/​orange base they switched me into a blonde :) i was sitting there all day buuuut the result is amazing! The service was great and i will come back when visiting Jacksonville again.

If I could give this salon and its staff a 10 I would !!! Great environment super nice staff the lady that cut my hair was awesome I got exactly what I asked for and that’s not easy I’m super picky !!! I just moved here from NJ and I was scared lol I’ve had the same stylist for 13 years but I took a gamble and I’m happy I did !!! If you have super curly crazy hair Jasmine is your girl !!!

I cannot thank patrick enough for fixing the disaster that was my hair. I had my hair colored at another salon with different shades of purple that weeks later ended up awful shades of greens, blues, and silvers. Patrick was able to give me back my natural hair color and make it look better then ever. I’m glad I have finally found a salon I know will take care of me and I can trust.

2^nd Visit 12÷23÷15:

Ben, Managing Partner, called me back first thing the next morning to apologize and extend an offer to return to the salon to fix my hair. Seems the stylist I had was new– first day at salon.
I was a bit hesitant, however I recalled during the three hours there that first day, the stylist in the corner was doing a terrific job on whoever sat in her chair. I was a bit envious. When Ben said she would be fixing my hair, I accepted the offer.
Chrissy was amazing. She made me feel comfortable, at ease, assured me she can repair my color and cut, and included a complimentary hair repair infusion. (Chrissy also shaped my brows.)
It took a few hours but the end result was a great cut and color. Ben reimbursed what I paid and apologized again. No hard feelings. I was grateful for their willingness to fix my hair and happy with a great new look to rock for the holidays.
I want to give kudos to the core stylist team there. In the time I spent on both visits, I saw every customer walk out with great cuts and/​or color.
I highly recommend this salon. Again, Chrissy is an exceptional colorist and hair stylist. She knows hair and listens to her customers.

1^st Visit 12÷22÷15:
Nice salon. Hair stylist was very polite and easy to talk to. I had my consultation, showed a picture of what I prefer, described what color and highlight I am looking for. Stylist shared his thoughts and ideas and what he will do. I said okay and that I trust him.
Started the process at 12:20p and left around 3:20p.
Highlights were turning green, so some bleach mixture was applied. Once he washed out my hair, it was a bright brassy blond. Toner was applied to tone that down since I said I do not want blond hair. More time spent with toner, washed it out, and not sure what color to call it. Cut was done in 10 – 15 minutes, blow dried, hand tossed, and left to me to tame al the fly-​aways. I just pulled it back with a headband.
End result is that whatever coloring product used at the Paul Mitchell salon I last had my hair done, did not interact well with the products at this salon. The mahogany base color with caramel honey highlights and great shiny smooth cut I usually get was not what I left with.
Paid $ 210! ($ 145 base w/​partial + $ 65 lady’s full experience haircut) and walked out with dull greyish greenish technicolor choppy highlighted short fly-​away hair. I never paid that much, ever… not even in Chicago or Charlotte.
It was when I walked through the door at my sons home that everyone freaked. I hate feeling embarrassed. Everyone made a big fuss about it. I said I will wait a bit to see how it settles. They said I need to ask for my money back and have them fix it. Ouch!
Benjamin, the managing partner, handed me his card. I may have to color it one whole color. Sigh.

My boyfriend and I are new to the area and booked appointments here based on positive Unilocal reviews plus its close proximity to home. When we arrived I realized I had seen this place in the strip mall while dropping off dry cleaning next door. I remembered at the time thinking how beautiful it was.
We both had appointments with Gretchen, one after the other, and we crossed our fingers, having both had previous negative experiences at other salons. Well, not only was she a lovely person, but I got the best hair cut I have had in years! She listened to my needs and addressed some problem areas created by a bad prior cut. She explained that she’d need to take off more than I wanted in order to get the shape back to normal and I gladly agreed since I felt like I could trust her. My hair is bouncy and happy and the shape is amazing. My boyfriend’s hair also came out so perfect. I used to work in a salon so I was watching her technique and she did a wonderful job shaping his hair for max handsomeness. :) The cuts were so affordable too! $ 40 for me and $ 20 for him. We are both going to be regular customers. Couldn’t be more thrilled to have found this salon.

I absolutely love the products and staff here! Iv been going here for a while and it’s been by far the best results I could even imagine! I highly recommend!

If you’re looking for a place where they take their time and give you superior service, look no further. I can’t say enough wonderful things about Pat and his salon. He has cut and colored my hair many times and I always look forward to coming back! Pat always listens to what I want and just blows me away when he’s done. Another plus is the amazing hair products they use at the salon, they are so addicting! I won’t go anywhere else.

Great products love the atmosphere and the staff is very professional and friendly! Will definitely be coming back for all my hair care!

I have very curly textured hair, as does my daughter. Patrick and his staff were phenomenal at doing Brazilian Blowout for both of us. The staff is professional and the salon is extremely clean and well run. Additionally the personalities enhanced the Total Hair Experience. Definitely my most fun hair stylist session. Laughed so much. We will be frequent fliers there. Highly recommend!

If you are new to the area or have been searching for a new hair stylist, no need to look any further. The Total Hair Experience offers top notch service from head to toe. I’ve been getting my hair done by Patrick for almost a year and he is beyond phenomenal. I’ve had my hair cut when it was long and short. I receive endless compliments with his line of work. The products they sell help sustain the color in your hair as well. My hair hasn’t been as healthy as it is now because of the hair care Patrick recommends. If you can go home and have it look just as good as it is at the salon then you know you are at the right place! I’ve had my nails done there as well and was very pleased :-). I got an appointment for haircuts for myself, my husband, and my teenaged son, at this salon and didn’t know what to expect. I had to attend a family funeral and had come from far out of town, and knew that I wouldn’t be happy or comfortable unless we looked trimmed, neat, and groomed, but without a friend’s recommendation, it could have been a bad experience.
It was anything but. It’s odd to say this about having a hair appointment, but in some ways, this was the highlight of my trip. My stylist was Jasmine, and she was perfect. I began by telling her I don’t have irons of any kind, don’t own a round brush, and didn’t bring a blow dryer. Whatever style she gave me would have to last all through the next day without any help from me. Well, she listened, she added some ideas, and she gave me exactly what I wanted.
My hair looked wonderful the next day, and several people complemented me. I felt chic, sophisticated, and comfortable — my hair looked like MY hair, not like something from a magazine. It was light, had movement, and the new layers even made the color look better.
Even more wonderful, though, was the time I got to spend talking with Jasmine. What an open, generous, kind, and genuinely funny woman she is. She made me comfortable and became comfortable herself. I only wish I could pack her up and bring her back to Iowa.
Thank you so much for making my family look our best for the funeral. It meant a lot to me.

KRISTIN is an AMAZINGLY TALENTED Master Stylist. You won’t be disappointed. Her customer service is 2^nd to none. The Salon is exquisite. So modern and clean and the owners Patrick & Ben truly make every client feel like family. I travel 25mins passing dozens of salons and barbers to come in and get top notch customer service!
