First time coming to this place and it was awesome. The sushi was fresh and the best I’ve had in town thus far. The presentation was awesome too. Plus the green tea ice cream was also amazing. I never leave reviews for places but this place was so good I had to.

Small restaurant with a nice atmosphere, servers were very friendly. I had sushi, a classic roll and a chef special. Both were very good and to my surprise the classic was on part with the special roll which is usually not the case. Typical pricing with daily specials, and with out checking in which gets you a free app they gave me a deep fried oreo which was pretty good. I definitely recommend this place before a night out on the town which this area is great for.

Came here for my birthday dinner a few nights ago and we were very impressed! Love how they serve clear soup while you look over the menu. We checked in on Unilocal and got the free chef’s appetizer – I have no idea what it was but it was awesome! We tried five different rolls and each one was delicious(I can’t remember which ones we had, but I think it’s safe to say they are all good). They have a nice wine selection too! Oh and the free Fried Oreos for dessert was a nice touch :) Cute little spot in Avondale!

Good food and service. Not a good restaurant for groups. Parking is difficult to find.

Love this place!!! We came at a good time(5pm) and didn’t have to wait for sitting. They served us clear soup(free)as we were looking at the menus). We always order the monster ball. I recommend the monster ball. It’s sweet and freshing. Thin crispy cracker with they’re signature sauce served with a ball of tuna and Avocado. We order the crazy Salomon roll. That was great. It was nice and fresh as well. We always come here when we want sushi. Overall, recommend Antoine to come here. Plus free fried oreo for dessert. Why not?! ;)

I wish I could eat here everyday! The hostesses always know I want the vegan menu. Then, how can I even decide on what roll or if I want the curry mushroom katsu?! The service is amazing and there’s always something new to try. I’ve had at least 10 vegan rolls, the katsu mushroom curry, and some other apps. Service is amazing! Food is tasty! This is my new favorite place. If you check in on Unilocal, you get a free app the first time, and a few more times later. And sometimes they give you a free surprise dessert. Super knowledgeable about the vegan diet too. They have vegan eel and shrimp sauce too!!! Eat at this place as soon as you can, seriously.

Best Sushi in Jacksonville, period. Best service, best staff, and the best presentation. Any Japanese restaurant can«make» sushi, but not all go to the extra mile to add panache to their presentation, some dry ice, and, I will not spoil it, go in and get you desert, its wonderful and so simple and the people are really, really, really nice to you when you are there. Great attitude, smiling, these folks do a great business AND do not forget to tip the guys on the line making the product, I might add, a great product. You are bound to see neighbors inside as it is a great new restaurant in Avondale.

I did not expect this restaurant to be so quaint and cozy! It’s a tiny little place, but the atmosphere is great, and the menu is HUGE. I love how they have a vegan menu with at least 20 different deluxe vegan sushi rolls on it. I always say I’m not impressed with a chef until they can make an incredible vegan dish. So this place definitely checks that box for me. My BF and I split the«love boat for two», this was the first time either of us tried a sushi boat and it was definitely impressive. You get to pick 2 speciality rolls, the OMG roll and the super crunch was what we went with. They were divineeeeeee. The chef gives you an assortment of sushi and sashimi. The sashimi was cut in big thick slabs like steaks. I’ve never seen anything like it. I’m more a sushi roll kind of gal but the BF was loving every bite. This boat would be better for three instead of two, we ended up taking a box packed with the thick steak cut sashimi on ice to go, which we’ll cook for another meal. I’m looking forward to coming back, the lunch bento boxes look just as delicious. Yum yum! Update *** yet again this place is beyond impressive! Check in for a free appetizer. They also treated us to a complimentary dessert. Looking forward to going back!

What I love about Sushiko is they offer an entire Vegan menu, which includes appetizers, entries and large selection of sushi. I really wish they had a sampler platter because there were some really interesting places to choose from. Although I got some interesting sushi, I wasn’t really in love with the flavor profile. But I think it was more so what I chose and not a reflection of bad food. It was my birthday and I wanted to be somewhat adventurous and not choose something typical like — Sweet potato roll! or Veggie roll. Over all I enjoyed myself here. The resurant was jammed packed but not overly crowded. The staff was pleasant and helpful. I am going to come back and try a few other dishes.

I went there with my side piece and we got down on some super sick sushi. Felt just right. I’m ready to start dropping dollars here for the foreseeable future. Maybe I’ll have a bachelor party here or something. Who knows?! This place has got me hyped on the Jax Sushi Game. — Sweat Heart Roll is absolute FIRE.

Used to go to Sumo Sushi, NOTNOMO. I utilize the chef’s special appetizer every check in and it’s always amazing. This place does not disappoint and goes the extra mile to make a meal an experience. 10⁄10! Love my neighborhood Sushiko!

This is an amazing sushi place. Whenever we fly into JAX, on our way back to Tallahassee we stop in this area for lunch or dinner. Never been disappointed. The restaurant is a small one with more variety of innovative sushi as you can imagine. I even won a free appetizer coupon from checking in on Unilocal. Servers were courteous and treated the customers really well. We tried the four seasons sushi and another one from the specials list. Won’t say blown away, but much better than average. Worth paying a visit. I’ll give it four stars but may be next time I will order something that will compel me to put a five star here.

Tried takeout today. I called my order in at 2:14, WHen I arrived at 2:28 it was bagged and ready to go. And it was just as good as it always is, and they even provided a large tub of eel sauce to dip the Diablo roll in. I’ve been there four times now, I’m sure the first time I was there service coincidentally was slow. Solid 5 from me now.

Freshest tasting sushi in Jax! If you are a sashimi enthusiast or sushi lover in general this is a must visit. I particularly enjoyed the Christmas tree roll and exotic roll. I don’t know what they do to the tuna but it is dynamite to the tastebuds! Sushi rice is soft and cooked perfectly. Presentation is a 5 star, overall I gave it a 4 star just bc the hibachi wasn’t up to par. Regardless, if you are craving sushi, they offer a variety of delicious rolls! Also, don’t forget to check in to receive a Yummy complimentary appetizer :)

Ever since the first time I came to Sushiko I knew it would be one of my favorite spots. The service is awesome! The FOOD is AMAZING! I’d recommend this place to anyone and everyone. Always impressed with Sushiko! This has been our go to sushi/Japanese restaurant since we first discovered it last year. Since trying it the first time, we’ve eaten just about everything on the menu. The Udon is a real stand out and it’s easily the best udon I’ve had outside of Japan! My wife loves the vegan menu that is unlike any vegetarian/vegan sushi menu we have ever seen! Such innovative and delicious vegan sushi! If you still go to another sushi place in jax, you’re messing up. Big time!

Headed to this place for my kids birthday this past year. They were probably 12 of us and we turned up maybe 45 minutes before the restaurant was scheduled to close. There were a couple other tables in there but they left before we were finished. The staff were super accommodating about pushing tables together for us and they were so nice the entire time. Like the other reviews have said, they really did make you feel like family. Towards the end of our meal their family apparently was sitting in the back of the table together eating their dinner and it was kind of nice. We ordered this giant sushi boat thing for the teenagers I think there were probably eight teenagers with us and then we ordered some extra sushi on the side and several dinners. They just kept the food flowing. It was great. I have to say that every single one of the sushi rolls was excellent. I also think we probably tried most of them. I also brought the kids fried Oreo when we were finished and that was a cute touch. I would definitely come here again, the interior is great it’s not too bright and the Décor is very nice and soothing.

I’d recommend Sushiko. Have been at least a dozen times for lunch and dinner and the staff is friendly and inviting each time. The space is clean, airy and exudes a casual yet relaxed environment. It’s my favorite sushi spot on this side of town(I do love Yashi on the Southside and Kazu in Mandarin). The rolls are fresh, don’t have too much rice(which I like!) and there are tons to choose from. There’s even a full vegan menu with non-meat/fish rolls for your veg friends. I love the non-fried rolls — anything with salmon, tuna, yellowtail, roe, etc. floats my boat. I usually get a couple pieces of sushimi as well. While random, the fried Oreos for dessert are always a hit.

Sushiko is not quite a four star but probably slightly more than a three star for me. We were actually just passing by, heading to a different restaurant for dinner. Seeing this new restaurant, we stopped to look at their menu and made a spur of the moment decision to ditch our original plan and walk in. What caught my eyes actually was their BBQ Squid appetizer(one of my fav), which is not a usual dish you see in other sushi shops in town. Besides the squid appey, we also ordered a few different rolls and yellowtail sashimi. Overall, the squid dish was a bit chewy, and I would have liked a bit more char on it, lightly drizzled with sauce or just sauce on the side. The sushi has a bit of hit and miss. Their salmon skin roll was quite nice. Their jalapeño roll was disappointing in that the balance of fish to pepper to rice ratio is quite off. Meaning very large and multiple chunks of pepper overpower any other ingredients. It tasted more like I am eating a jalapeño stuffed with some yellowtail chunks and bit of rice. I had to order a plain yellowtail with scallion and that tasted quite good. We also ordered another specialty roll(I forgot the name). Regardless, maybe it was an off day, the sushi rice used was a slightly dry/hard and with no vinegar taste. Some of the rolls were falling apart, almost like they didn’t wrap it with enough seaweed that it fell apart on touch. So, kudos to having the squid appey and having some interesting and creative rolls. I’d probably give them another try to see if the sushi rice was just off that day.
