Good food, the oxtail was on point as were the rice and peas. Employees were a bit standoffish, maybe they were busy. I would have liked to try more dishes. but they weren’t very welcoming on the initial trip.

Why haven’t I stopped in here before?! Seriously, the best jerk chicken in Jax! Perfectly spiced and grilled. Rice and peas were on point, as well as the cabbage. Yummmmmmmmmm

This place still continues to be one of our favorites, but call ahead and ask them what they have going on that day…
If it’s jerk wings, you are a lucky duck and order them up with a quickness.
If you love spicy, ask for it, and you shall receive. And, speaking of which, order an extra size of gravy for your rice, totally worth it!
PS. Might be just me, but how is the cabbage getting even better each visit? So delicious.

Good Caribbean fare with big portions. Large fed me for two meals. The jerk is great and items are grilled there so aroma as you walk in is great. Put a little spice in my life mon

Oh snap… I think I just found my new Caribbean joint since my back-​up one closed and the one I usually go to has a mean old lady I can’t stand anymore (read previous review)! There’s this one really awesome place around town called Sp*** and most locals who enjoy amazing flavors know what I’m talking about, but I’m not about that life and going out of my way to drive over a bridge for some food isn’t something I ever plan on doing alone so this is pretty much the next best thing distance wise. It’s pretty close to home and even closer to where I go to class.
Okay… So the relevant part. I ordered a large curry chicken which came with rice and peas, steamed cabbage, curry chicken of course, sweet plantains and cornbread. Portion; 10/​10, Taste 7/​10, Cost; 9÷10… That’s pretty darn good! I also ordered a small portion of ox tails which came in a small box but was a crap load more than I expected! Portion; 10/​10, Taste; 6/​10, Cost; ³⁄₁₀.
The service here was much more pleasant and quicker than the place I use to go to which means I will keep coming back. Food is pretty good too.

I was very pleased with the food and prices. I live 2 minutes away and plan on making it a regular stop. I highly recommend the jerk mac n cheese.

I have been eating here for over 2 years. Always my go to spot when I’ve got that taste for Jamaican food. Never disappoints!

ive now been to Stars twice… i LOVE Spices in arlington so thats kind of my bar… doesnt stand up to Spices in any category but it is very good, hence more than one visit…
First time i visited it was around 2 or 3 which seemed like a good time so i went to order my regular for carribean spots, curry goat, buuuut they were out, so i got the oxtail w/​rice and peas and cabbage w/​a cream soda… the oxtail was good not overly seasoned, the rice n peas were, well, rice n peas, the cabbage could have used some spices salt n pepper atleast…
My 2^nd visit i went a lil earlier, that was good and bad… the wait was crazy because it was lunch, which didnt bother me that much because thats fairly normal and i wasnt one of the people who actually had to get back to work. speaking of, i couldnt feel too bad for those ppl because it home made food, if u cant take ur time on break dont come to a place like this… BUT, they had my curry goat (i paid for a smal and reccieved a large for no charge for my wait, im guessing cuz i understood and didnt have a major attitude) the goat was really good, perfect amount of spice for the average person doesnt make ur nose run, i personally like it a lil spicier rice n peas and cabbage were the same…
The staff is polite and accomodating, even with all the ppl down their throat, i will definately visit again…

YES. Flavors here made my heart burn (in a good way). Awesome curry shrimp. Great portions for the money. The stewed cabbage is phenomenal. Do yourself a favor and eat here. If you don’t, go to Cheesecake Factory you loser.

They aren’t Spices but they aren’t bad at all. I’ve been a few times and every meal was slightly different, even though I have only ever ordered the jerk chicken combo (comes with rice/​peas and cabbage). The very first time I ate there was just the right amount of spice to please my high tolerance palate, bold flavor and tender all the way around. Nowadays, I don’t know if it’s me but every time I go, the flavors/​spice diminishes slightly and I end up with more and more leftovers every time. I honestly can’t put a finger on it… maybe I’ve become desensitized… I blame Spices lol *shrug*
The place is clean, the staff is friendly (one of the ladies, I think she may be the owner, immediately gives off that mom vibe) and Tuesdays are 10% off for military. My only complaint is the itty bitty, awkwardly shaped parking lot… I usually just park next door and cross the boundary into theirs; I like to be able to see whether or not I am going to get hit when I pull out lol Also, their prices are a smidge higher than I am used to… or maybe it’s because I don’t like their flavors as much anymore so I don’t feel as though I am getting my money’s worth.
Overall, I’d definitely recommend them… but I swear by Spices lol

Today, we had the pleasure of dining in Stars Caribbean. We had a great time. Our food was EXCELLENT, flaor great also. Our waitress was phenomenal. HATS OFF TO THE COOKS AND THE ENTIRE STAFF. I highly recommend this establishment to everyone. WE WILL BE BACK STARS…
