Hubby and I have been here a couple of times so I guess we like it, right? Haha So far we’ve had: — Philly cheesesteak — Grilled shrimp tacos — Mayport SOB The ribeye meat is juicy and seasoned very well!!! The bread is ok; it does its job by holding everything in. The tacos — eh, it’s ok. If you want the shrimp, just get them on something else like the Mayport SOB or po-boy. But definitely try the shrimp! Cooked perfectly! They have big portions so don’t worry, you securely won’t be hungry afterwards… unless you’re eyeing another food item or dessert at another truck then carpe diem, my friend! :) Oh yea, service is fast and friendly! I have to give them that! :)

I ordered the grilled shrimp tacos with shoe strig fries. Quick and Friendly service. The food was good but nothing popped iut to make it spectacular. Decent prices, pretty good food, decent overall rating.

Whenever our café closes early we have food trucks come out. And today we got son of butcher. This is my second time eating here and it was just as good as the first time. I love that they do the original philly with the cheese wiz, it’s so delicious! Today I just got something light because I had already eaten. I over love the parmesan garlic fries. It was so good! Cooked just right with tons of Parmesan and garlic!

Pretty good basic Philly Cheesesteak. Did not care for the Mayport SOB… just too many competing flavors. Didn’t work.

One of the best trucks around. The Philly is incredible but in the interest of calories I usually go for the steak and shrimp tacos. They’re awesome. The fries are amazing too, but I’m usually stuffed enough from the main dish that I skip them. If you’re near this truck it’s not to be missed!

Sooo good! Follow them on Facebook to see where they will be on a daily basis. I have only had them downtown on the first Wednesday art walk but need to find them again! And soon! My husband and I split the Mayport SOB. You have to love the names of this truck and the sandwiches! It makes me laugh to order anything with SOB in the title. And I have to say, met the owner and he might be a Son of a Butcher but he is definitely not an SOB. He walked over to every table and asked how the food was, such a nice guy. Anyways, back to the sandwich, it’s basically a traditional philly cheese steak but with grilled fresh Mayport shrimp! The bread was soft and the flavor combo was amazing! The only problem was that the sandwich was so big we basically had to eat it with a fork and knife — and that’s not even a real problem! I wanted onions on my side and my husband didn’t so they literally cut the sandwich in half and made one half with the onions and put it on it’s own plate so that my husband wouldn’t have any onions on his! And the fries were great too! They gave us both a nice side of fries. A lot of bang for your buck! Two people ate for only $ 10 because the portions were so big! Can’t say anything bad about this sandwich and the entire food truck. Can’t wait to go back and eat more!

Their first Shrimp Philly cooked for a customer. Who would have thunk it. That I would be the first to a food truck. I saw this one on Facebook this morning. They were going to be in a secret location that only was out to the early folks that liked them on Facebook. I found them and it was a smaller truck then most but looks bright n shiny. It ends up an old restaurant owner form up north came down and opened another food truck. Just like Backstreet did. This one has mostly different versions of the old faithful pilly cheese steak. I asked them what felt like and he said a Mayport SOB so one I got. I will say that it was cooked perfectly. The meat was juicy and melted the cheese to make it all ooey gooey. The cheese helps to keep everything together. The shrimp were also cooked well. Not the normal rubber band that I have gotten off of other places. They were also very friendly and the owner(not a son of a butcher) came out and asked how I liked t and was very genuine about it too. A little more seasonings for me but I like things heavy with salt n pepper. In all a good truck and it will do well for the Jacksonville Food Scene.
