BANGFORTHEBUCKS. My husband and I tried this buffet for the first time. Don’t let the exterior fool you. This little hole in the gem will hit the spot. They have BLUECRABS!!! I stuffed my faced with blue crabs, I’m giving this a 5 star because of the blue crabs, most buffets usually offer snow crabs, but this buffet has blue crabs. Sushi-decent selection, I really enjoyed the seaweed salad sushi. Loved the stuffed shrimp, fried chicken was a plus. Will come back to try the hibachi selection.

One of the best, if not the best, Chinese buffet we have been to. Attentive staff, food is hot and constantly being refreshed, price is awesome, and they have a rewards app! Very convenient for coupons and punch card loyalty program. Definitely recommend. Placed stayed consistently busy during our visit.

Just an FYI they close at 10:30 on Fridays not 11. Came here at 1015 with my boyfriend and they were already put up, closed. Kind of frustrating when you went out of your way on a road trip to get to the place!

Overall 1 of the best Chinese buffets. :) They’ve been consistent. The fact that fresh sushi and hibachi are included in the buffet price sets them apart… not to mention(well I am mentioning) the comparatively low prices! Specific ratings: The Service was 5(greeted quickly and waited on with a smile and courtesy), Facility 3.5(older but well kept), Food 4(good on taste, stocking, variety), Price/cost 4.5, 5 with coupon. Summary: Definitely recommended.

Don’t judge a book by it’s cover when it comes to the Royal Buffet. The outside could certainly use some updating as well as the ambiance inside. This would have been a five star review but for that. But once you walk past the large fish tank fully stocked in the entryway you encounter the nicest staff willing to seat you wherever you want within the restaurant. Immediately in front of you are the sushi and hibachi stations. Although I wasn’t as impressed by the sushi selection this time as I was on my first visit, I was still quite satisfied. I would have preferred less imitation crab and more tuna and salmon rolls. Get creative with your plate because the sauces are all right there. If you’re searching for the traditional Chinese dinner dishes they are only steps away on one of the several hot bars. The ribs are one of my favorites and stuffed shrimp are simply succulent. There are also plenty of fresh seafood from oysters on the half shell to crawfish and seasoned crab. There are even french fries for the pickiest of eaters. As you progress through several plates of food do yourself a favor and save room for dessert! There are 12 varieties of delicious serve-yourself ice cream as well as pudding, flan lots of baked/fried dough. This place stayed busy the whole time we were there and the food is constantly being refreshed and monitored. One of my favorite buffets in town!

We met a fellow Unilocaler here for dinner. I enjoyed the wider selection of food, notably the meat, The chicken, fish, shrimp were all good. I didn’t try the oysters or crab but will next time. My Lady enjoyed the fruit and the ice cream. The price for the buffet was a affordable and service was good. A nice place to get your Chinese food fix at a low price.

I go here for lunch. It’s convenient to my job on Lane Avenue. The food is always hot and the hibachi is decent. The chicken on a stick is very good, I always get it when I eat here. It’s a buffet so it’s all good.

As far as «pan» East Asian buffets go, Royal Buffet was very satisfying. There were 4(hot and cold), buffet tables to choose from, as well as self serve ice cream in 10 flavors. The Mongolian bbq section had several vegetable and sauce options to choose from, and the seafood selections throughout were plentiful and flavorful. The only real drawback to this establishment is that the food is not always labeled, and it can be difficult to determine exactly what is in it(especially if you have food allergies or dietary restrictions). If you’re looking for seafood heavy buffets, this is definitely one to visit.

Its not one of the buffets in Jax but its decent. The sushi is good but no edamame which I could get at another buffet. Good variety of food. Dinner has tastier options than lunch. A bonus is that I don’t get sick so they must not use MSG. Nice atmosphere and pleasant staff.

I was a big fan of East Buffet, which was here some nine or ten years ago, you know, before that one went down hill. The food, especially the Mongolian BBQ, was excellent back then and I used to eat there on the reg. Now, it’s a shred of what it used to be. I went in today for lunch after reading some kind reviews and hearing from a few friends that it was similar to my remembrance. I walked out completely and utterly disappointed. The buffet has two sections of actual Asian style food and the rest could be found at the buffet inside Golden Corral with the likes of pre-made tacos, puddings, and salads. Although, I think Golden Corral could actually have a higher standard than this place. The only thing that I actually liked was the peppered chicken, and the vegetables from my hibachi plate. Everything else was just bleh; either too spicy, too soggy, overcooked, or just bland. I tried a myriad of food to see if it was just me or if it was the food. My sister-in-law did the same, and we both ended up with the same conclusion. The food was just awful. To top it all off, the silverware is rolled in paper napkins, while still wet, causing the napkins to stick to the silverware as you try to unroll them. I went through two sets of silverware before finding a clean spoon. Also, the bathrooms could use some mega cleaning. I’m very sad to see what has become of this place.

This place has become our guilty pleasure. This last time, I picked up some of the BBQ pork ribs from the buffet bar. They were SO tender & juicy with the perfect fat to meat ratio the meat was falling off the bone. They even reheat well the next day. I highly recommend. Next, I always pick up a few of the broiled butterfly shrimp with garlic butter. Go ahead and take an extra spoonful of that yummy garlic-butter juice in the pan and pour it into a condiment cup to dip your shrimp in later. For my man, he loves the steamed dumplings so I usually pick up 8 – 10 pieces to fill up a Styrofoam container. Yum. My go to dishes are the Orange Chicken & General Tso’s Chicken with steamed white rice. Most of the time I get the stir-fried green beans along with a scoop of the Mongolian Beef with the brown sauce, mushrooms, onions & green peppers(Very flavorful). Also – I can’t remember the name of the stir-fried chicken & veggie concoction, but it’s addictive. I’m the one who steals the broccoli out of this dish, so if there’s no broccoli left – I’m the one who took them all. :) Seriously. The sauce that goes with that dish is superb & gets stuck in the broccoli florets. Solution: Tell the staff you need more. They will happily indulge you. Remember, it’s a buffet. If you see the chafing dishes pretty empty, they will refill it. They are usually making more in the back or can be kindly reminded if they’re super busy. Last time, I didn’t want the bottom rice in the white rice cooker. Guess what? I asked for new rice and it promptly appeared. It’s never been a problem for me. This little gem is a terrific Chinese buffet with a wide assortment of well prepared, delicious dishes. And lunch prices are extremely reasonable for freshly made food. Overall, I’m still perplexed about exactly which foods on the buffet another reviewer said lacks flavor. This certainly hasn’t ever been my experience here. **Definitely give this place a try. I think you’ll find a plethora of flavors. Now I’m going to get some banana pudding… 5-Solid Stars

We were thrilled to see a new Asian buffet open up here. We were faithful patrons of the old one in this spot until they went downhill. Boy, were we in for a surprise last night. The old one(East Buffet) opened up in an old Quincy’s and did no remodeling at all. The owners of Royal Buffet have gutted the old place and completely remodeled it. Everything was brand new and clean, from the walls, the floors, the tables and the buffet — even the Mongolian grill was new. We were there about 6 pm on a Saturday night and it was not full, but still busy. The greeters/hostess at the door were polite and the waitress was efficient. The sheer amount of food was amazing. Typical salad bar, a nice selection of sushi, 4 different soups, the standard variety of «Chinese» dishes, noodles, rice, vegetables, the usual odd Americanized dishes and the equally odd dessert bar. Everything appeared fresh and at the right temperature. The staff were on top of keeping everything clean and stocked. One thing I really liked is how foods are grouped on the bar. Fried items are together, sauced items, seafood, etc. Made it easier to find what I wanted. They did have a selection of items we have never seen at an Asian buffet before. My daughter tried a «peach bun» that was very artistic looking and visually pleasing. It was a steamed bun with a dark brown paste inside, neither sweet nor savoury. I didn’t care for it but they loved it. All in all, we are happy to have a good quality Asian buffet back here in «east» Westside.

This buffet is has plenty to offer. For the one price you get a buffet and hibachi grill. You can’t beat that. You’ll find crab, lobsters and shrimp here. I had the chicken on a stick, which had a teriyaki taste to it, which was pretty tasty. You have s choice of yellow or white rice. The sweet and sour chicken was also pretty good. I didn’t get a chance to try the hibachi grill(for some reason my appetite wasn’t ravenous on this day) lol! I did eat quite a bit of fresh fruit watermelon(ok I killed the watermelon). Don’t forget dessert they have a wide assortment of ice cream(like about 6 – 8 flavored) pistachio, superman, chocolate, vanilla, strawberry, mint chocolate chip, butter pecan and a few more. This was the largest assortment of ice cream I have ever seen at a buffet and it was good! The prices are reasonable, the atmosphere is family friendly with lots of seating and parking. The waitress was eager to keep your drinks full .I will be returning to this location.
