Ok, this Peterbrooke Chocolatier is not right in the village of San Marco, but it is a handful of blocks north along San Marco Blvd. Less pizazz means easier parking. Not only that, you can come here after the $ 6.95 Italian lunch buffet at Vino’s, only 1 block up. That’s only if you want to mix all that pasta and pizza with fine chocolates. I’d make those separate adventures. This location is recommended as a point of interest in tourist information guides. I can see why. Through the glass windows, one can see their delicious products being crafted. But that’s not center stage; rather, it is down a short hallway in the same building and also inside the store, for which the main entrance is located on the corner. There is a huge selection of fine chocolates in the store itself. It appears that most of it is packaged for gifts, special occasions, or any occasion where chocolate is calling. They also have free samples of chocolate covered popcorn, and it’s good. On top of that, there is a gelato area and, rather than try to figure out which chocolates were the best, as is always a challenge at See’s Candies, I opted for a cup of ice cream. The store is squeaky clean. The big glass windows allowing one to see them make chocolates is a fun feature. Their products are of high quality, though slightly pricey. The location is both central and there is often parking right in front of the store. While I’m sure Peterbrooke Chocolatier is popular with Jacksonville area residents and a household word, I recommend it to tourists and visitors, along with taking in the San Marco area.

I don’t eat sweets but this Sunday is Mothers Day and I prefer having a happy wife and mother of my children and she loves the chocolate covered popcorn that they have here.

This is the main Peterbrooke in Jacksonville. it’s their Factory Store. This is where pretty much everything is made and then it’s taken around to all the other stores in jacksonville. It’s pretty cool to visit this one because sometimes you can seen them making all the chocolatey goodness! Peterbrooke is a bit costly, but it sure is worth it. It’s some good stuff! If you can think of something chocolate covered, they probably have it here. They are really famous for their chocolate covered popcorn. One of my favourites are the chocolate dipped potato chips. If you haven’t tried these, I urge you to try them asap! So addicting! This shop is located in San Marco, although it’s not located in the«heart» of San Marco. Next time you are in the area, make a point to stop by this Factory Store! They have some items you may not find at any of their other shops!
