Once Upon A Child

The store is very neat and organized. The staff don’t seem that friendly, and this store has very little clearance beside the onesie section. My main issue is with the «kiddie play area» they all have. This store had two dirty, dingy, almost broken toys in there for the kids. Plus, one of those seats you attach to the toilet so a kid can potty train was also in there as a toy. This is also the first once upon a child I’ve been to that had «pay before you play signs everywhere.» I had the feeling they wanted you to leave your kids at home before you came.

It is actually making me sick to give this joke of an establishment one star! I had my baby a little over two months ago, and she quickly outgrew her Newborn and some of her 0 – 3 months clothes. Most of them she did not even get to wear. I was quite disappointed, but when I heard about this place, I was relieved I could get some money back for her gently used clothes. I also had some baby toy items that I could do without.
So, I lugged my carload of items with me from Saint Mary’s, GA to this location with my crying baby. I entered the store, dropped off one bag (crying baby in tote) and told them I had a bunch more in my truck. There were at least 4 employees just sitting on their butts and no one offered to help me. Okay, no big deal. I am a big girl, I can do this myself.
Finally, after 3 trips back and forth (baby still fussing), I am told it will be about 20 minutes, so I decide to walk around the store and take a look. (Baby still fussing, but getting better). As I was walking around, I was quite disgusted with some of the items they had. Most were dirty, grimy, and definitely in no shape to be sold.
Finally, while I am still in the store (baby finally asleep in my arms), my phone rings and to my surprise, it is one of the employees. Keep in mind, I am still in the store. The phone ring wakes my baby and she starts screaming again. I rush to the counter and the incompetent teenager thinks he can whisper over my child’s crying so I cannot hear him and he refuses to speak up and proceeds to just point to signs and pieces of paper to get his message apart.
They didn’t want half my items and would only give me less than 15 bucks for what they did want. So, instead of lugging all the items in trips back and forth to the truck, I just left everything there.
This location is a joke. Go find another since there are plenty around Jacksonville.
