Place is awesome! It’s a drive through family owned restaurant. Order on one side, pick up on the other. Their yogurts are made fresh and on the spot with fresh fruits. I got their bacon egg and cheese biscuit. It was pretty good just a little dry but I added some honey. Place is fairly inexpensive. They were out of grits when I got there but makes me want to go back even more to try them out.

Bacon, egg, and cheese crossiant was really good. Made from scratch buttery flakey crossiant was everything. My only issue was the actual egg part. I wish it was a real egg fried egg or even scrambled eggs instead of a cut out egg patty.

Awesome place owned and operated by a superb family. Food is always great. Prices are beyond reasonable. I’m always greeted with a smile. Today was special as I was leaving town for six months for work, they topped off my Togo order with sympathy, extra smiles, a cookie and prayers after a hard goodbye to my family just minutes earlier. You’ll never have that kind of experience at a drive through window ever from anyone else. Thank you Bob & Carroll! Paul G.

They are so very nice and the triple threat chocolate chip cookie is beyond delicious. My aunt is in the hospital close by so stopped to get a variety of desserts for visitors coming to see my Aunt. They put together an assortment of 4 desserts. I only tried the cookie but after I ate it, I wanted to eat all the cookies we got in our package. So delicious and they were so friendly and helpful. I’m from Atlanta but hope to someday be back in Jacksonville so I can go to Liberty bakery again. They had an extensive menu that looked really good for breakfast and lunch but did just desserts this time.

OMG. I have been looking for a place with great cookies and this is IT! Triple chocolate cookie was my very first order. The cookie was still warm and the chocolate was gooey as I pulled the cookie apart. So sweet and I will definitely be back!

Just stopped in here real quick. Picked up half a dozen macaroons and a cookie. Sampled all the macaroons they make and my kids said they were OK. I loved the triple chocolate chip cookie. I would definitely like to try some of their lunch items and more of their desert fare, but we were in a hurry and just wanted to try it out. No line in the drive thru and the folks who were working inside were very nice. We will definitely try it out again when we are on that side of town.

After passing by on my way to work every morning I finally decided to stop today. I order the sausage, egg and cheese on toast and a cinnamon bun. The people at the drive thru were so nice and the food was fabulous. The toast on the sandwich was so delicious and the icing on the bun was perfect and not to sweet. Definitely going back soon to try more!

As we pulled up to the drive thru window, we were greeted with all smiles and a warm welcome on a early Saturday morning. We joined the email list and ordered the best bacon, egg and cheese biscuits, cinnamon bun and pumpkin cookie! The prices were very reasonable, the food was fresh out of the oven and the service was great! We will be back!

This little Bakery is so adorable. Family run drive through that makes everything from scratch except the burrito tortillas. My breakfast was delish and I got a cupcake for my hubby. I had my dog with me and they threw in a treat for her. Such an awesome local mom and pop store!

I was inspired to go here based on a friend’s review of her lackluster experience. I’d wanted to order three salted caramel macaroons, but since they only had one remaining, I settled for all I could get. Although slightly startled by the lavender color(what’s the connection between salted caramel and the color lavender?) I bit into the treat. I immediately understood why my friend found the dessert too sweet, however I found it absolutely delightful because I rather prefer sweet desserts. I also had a bacon and egg salad sandwich on wheat bread. I found the bread to be too dry for my palate and promptly switched the contents of my sandwich to a wheat sandwich thin. It was absolute perfection, thanks to my little modification. At the ordering and pick up windows, I was informed that they make dog treats because my furry pal was by my side. I graciously declined a treat due to my dog’s restricted diet. The customer service here is exceptional and there are so many food items that I absolutely must return to try. I only wish they had a dine in option.

I really really wanted to like this place so much! I went after work one morning and needless to say I usually over order after work. The breakfast biscuit with egg, bacon and cheese was okay. The biscuit sour cream was savory but no real flavors popped out for me. The worst part about the biscuit was the really weird egg. It looked like eggs that were completely speckled in pepper but had no real flavor whatsoever. The biscuit would have been amazing if they would use real eggs or would use a bit of salt. The description says fluffy scrambled eggs but neither of those descriptions it was. I ordered a red, white and Bbq sandwich combo. The sandwich was okay but the Bbq sauce was to tangy for my preference and left a weird aftertaste in my mouth. I also ordered the liberty yogurt and that was the absolute best thing I ordered. Yogurt was sweet and cream and the fruit was very fresh. That was completely gone! The very sad thing is that I ordered a Boston cream pie slice and it was spoiled! The cream was so bad that I had to throw it away. This was the breaking point for me. I can’t recommend a place that serves soiled product. The macaron I didn’t even bother trying after that. The staff is soo friendly and nice that it hurts me to leave such a bad review but I honestly don’t think I’ll be going back anytime soon for any food. The service is quick and friendly and yogurt is very good. Just don’t think I’ll go back for any other items.

I went back because I think this place is pretty cool. Mom and Pop bakery, no frills and simple. I know they can make good food. I like supporting businesses like this. I had their chicken salad sandwich which I thought was pretty tasty. Bread was nicely toasted and the sandwich had a lot of filling. It was a tasty and flavorful choice. Because the chicken salad is the color of cheese I guess my brain associated it with eating eating a grilled cheese sandwich and I had to mentally remind myself what I was eating. That was pretty funny to me. Maybe I’m weird. All in all I’ll go back. Ps I Loved the Bible verse on the blackboard.

FANTASTIC! We absolutely love this bakery. Our office orders from them at least twice a week. Today, we ordered over 10 different orders and received everything perfect! The staff is so friendly and has started to become like a family to us. We will continue to go back every week!

Discovering new places is the ‘hazard’ of being a Unilocaler. I was ‘researching’ doughnuts and was led to Liberty Bakery. Liberty Bakery is a small little shack on the corner of Bowden that has limited offerings each day. When I pulled up to the window to order my doughnut, I also noticed the macaron options and of course had to taste test those as well while I was at it. While I was a little disappointed the flavor I was in search of was not available, I was perfectly fine to ‘settle’ for the one they had that day: maple pumpkin. Their menu options are limited, and their flavors offered may vary from day to day, but it’s nice to know everything is freshly made and hasn’t been sitting on the display shelf too long. The macaron flavors offered that day were candy corn, maple bacon, and chocolate ganache. The candy corn really captured the essence of the halloween treat I used to love as a kid. There’s wasn’t much bacon in the maple bacon one, but the cookie was well made and the maple flavor was excellent. The chocolate ganache was my favorite. Rich & decadent and bursting with chocolate flavor. I don’t see myself making it over to Liberty Bakery too often as it is a little off the beaten path for me, but still a great option for those in the area.

I must’ve passed by this place a million times and never thought that there was a business operating here. That was probably because I always drove by when they were closed. It wasn’t until I saw the Unilocal reviews that I found out that they were open for breakfast and lunch and was conveniently located near my job. I had to try this place out. The building itself has a little bit of history as I’ve discovered from talking to my mom. It and other buildings shaped like it around Jax were formerly Skinner’s Dairy drive-thrus back in the day were folks would pick-up milk and ice cream. There’s actually one near my house. No seating area, you just walk-up or drive-thru. As much as I’d like to only try out the dessert items, it was lunchtime and I needed to eat something worthy of calling«lunch». They have sandwiches and salads on their menu so as I’m glancing over the menu one item sticks out for me, Two if by Brie Sandwich. What’s that you say? It combines everything I like in between two slices of bread(white or wheat): cranberry sauce, brie, turkey, and Dijon mustard. That sandwich was amazing! I knew I had to get one dessert so I got a Key Lime Cupcake. The icing with the key lime dollop on top was not overly sweet and well suited the cupcake, which to my surprise had a graham cracker-cake bottom to it, just like a Key Lime Pie would. Brilliant! Now I wish I had gotten more than one. I’ll definitely be back for more!

I see a lot of mixed reviews, so I guess things are a hit and miss. My experiences have been good here. I tried their french macarons. Every week they feature 3 different kinds. On the week I went with foodie bud Nate, I got the Maple Bacon, Lemon, and Tiramisu ones. Soft and not too chewy. The Maple Bacon and Tiramisu were perfect — not too sweet. The Lemon one was sweet, but not overly sweet and not very tart, which is a star in my book. My favorite out of all of them was the Maple Bacon flavor. They were topped with a bacon slice at the top. These were the most affordable macarons I’ve ever had at $ 1.50 per macaron. Note: On Saturdays, they have Happy Hour half priced all baked goods from 2pm till 3pm. That means 75 cents macarons. They also make cakes, cookies, and other desserts as well as sandwiches. If you are thirsty they offer coffee, iced tea, and soda. I got an iced coffee and it was pretty good. There is no seating, so it’s more of a take away kind of place. It is the only place in the southside of Jacksonville(that I know of) that is a stand-alone shop with macarons. Every other place requires driving on the other side of town. So if you are in a crunch and need a macaron now and don’t feel like driving all the way to the Mandarin area, you might want to give this place a try.

Well, I *didn’t* do my «Happy Macaron Dance» so I guess I didn’t enjoy them ALL that much. I bought a variety pack of Coconut Almond, Salted Caramel and Chocolate Raspberry for a coworkers birthday. The consensus of everyone who tried them was«Ack! That’s so sweet! All I taste is sugar!» They weren’t as moist and chewy as other Macarons I’ve had. I did like the saltiness of the salted caramel even though it tasted like a really ***SWEET*** Meringue with sprinkled salt. The caramel taste was lost. The Coconut Almond was more enjoyable with its delicate Amaretto flavor and it wasn’t as overpowered with sugar. The Chocolate Raspberry was a little better in regards to the chocolate filling(nice and gooey) but the Raspberry had a odd artificial taste probably from the mauve food coloring. It was just«alright.» My macarons weren’t a hit for the birthday girl or my coworkers and that was disappointing. :/I know two stars seems low but the statement, «Meh. I’ve experienced better» aptly describes how I felt. I have no problems trying this location for *myself* again, I just doubt I’ll bring any items from Liberty Bakery to a party.
