It is a bar in the hotel. If your not staying at the hotel I certainly would not make the trip from wherever you are for this place. The food is fine the sweet potato biscuit pulled pork sliders I would even go so far as to say are delicious. Of course every thing is priced far to high so hopefully you’re on an expense account. While they serve a more limited food menu they can do a little nicer cocktail and It’s a nice alternative to the lounge bar at the front of the Hyatt.

It’s okay if you are in the hotel and didn’t want to leave… Food was okay, drinks were kinda good, and the service was average!

Typical sports bar located in the hotel. The bar is not very big and fills up pretty quickly. The beer selection here kinda stinks. You might find a couple craft beer bottles and one on draft. I took at seat at the bar and ordered a drink and some food. The barttenders were nice and fast. The food was decent. Don’t go out of your way to visit this bar, but if you’re in the hotel and don’t feel like leaving, it is a decent enough place to stop in.

Jaxx is located in the Hyatt Riverfront hotel, and has all of the hallmarks of an average hotel bar, viz. bland ambiance, servicable food. The staff were friendly and competent, though a touch inattentive. Menu is standard issue sports bar fare(burgers, wings, quesadillas, etc.) executed in an ok but unremarkable fashion. There were a couple of the local microbrew(Bold City) beers available, which was nice. Location is a windowless tomb with sports posters and flat screen TVs liberally coating the fake-wood paneled walls in an effort to help you ignore that fact. As a guest of the hotel it is decent for someplace to grab a quick bite if you don’t want to leave the building, and would make an decent place to watch sports, but there is no reason to make a special trip to visit Jaxx.

Everytime I visit Jacksonville, I make a point to see my best guy friend Travis. Not only is he like a brother to me, he introduces me to the newest beers in Jax and happily drinks them with me. Because his wife was dancing her heart out at a workshop at the Hyatt downtown, he invited me for a beer and some nom nom’s while he was waiting for her to finish. The Hyatt hotel, located right on the Saint Johns river overlooking the landing, offers a wide variety of bars inside. This one, was small, yet spacious. Full of tv’s which was proudly showing football games(yess!!) and brought us a chexx mix type of snack for free :) we ordered the ipa/red ale and more on tap and spent the next 2 hours catching up and drinking away. their beers are bigger than most and after 3 of them i was done for. Once i got the bill, i was surprised how cheap everything was and ended up leaving with a smile on my face. the only downside? the service. We saw our waitress only once. she took our first order and the managers and other servers delivered our beers after. She seemed to be distracted by the sports on tv as well as the manager. ohhhh well.

It was late at night. We had just come back from a long day of work and sight seeing. My girfriend and I wanted to grab a bite to eat and a night cap before turning in. Since we were staying at the Hyatt, this place was pretty convenient. It’s a casual place with very friendly staff. It’s small and cozy, so it can get pretty crowded. We hung out at the bar to eat our food and get our drink. They have several tvs which featured different sporting events from all over the world. They have great margarita and drink specials and a great happy hour. I got some fancy margarita and another cocktail for $ 5 a pop and it was pretty good! They also serve some of the best peanut chex mix — type thing there. I’m not sure if the hotel makes it or if they order it, but it is delicious!
