The Nick Williams Exhibition Rugby Match was held at the 9A Baymeadows Regional Park and was a delight to watch! This was the first time I have ever seen the Jacksonville Men’s Rugby Team, (the Ospreys), play CO-​ED!!! Yes, the founder of the Women’s Jacksonville Rugby Team (the Sinners), Melissa Butler, and several of her teammates participated in full rugby garb and with impressive, testosterone saturated force!
Kudos to the women for mixing it up with the boys!
As this was merely an exhibition match in honor of Assistant Coach Williams heading back across the pond to his hometown in Wales, I do not even believe that a tally was kept on the scoreboard! No matter, this was a great match and a great ‘Fond Farwell’ to Nick Williams and this year’s Osprey’s season.
