This is a great library. I mostly read ebooks, but every now and then, there’s a book I want to read that’s not in ebook format or there’s a book I think may not be all that great so I don’t want to purchase it, so I come here. Generally the books are newer and aren’t on the shelves, so I have to request it to either be sent from another library or to be put on the waiting list. I’ve never had to wait more than a week to get a book and it’s nice that I get an email letting me know it’s arrived at the library. When I go by to pick it up, they have an area where they keep reserved items, so I can just grab it and check it out myself. Yes, they have self check-outs here. Pretty cool system. You can check out your own books, DVDs, and CDs yourself. You just need your library card and your pin number. Scan the item/items and it prints out a receipt to let you know the return date. Voila… done! They also have a very extensive selection of DVDs and CDs here. Surprisingly enough, they have newer DVDs and CDs. If you’re looking for something in particular and they don’t have it, you can request it from another library just like you can a book. Sometimes it takes a little longer to get a DVD. I requested Taxi Driver(we’d never watched it) and it was there for me in 2 days. I requested the first season of Downton Abbey at the same time(this was about 3 weeks ago) and I’m still waiting for it. Must be a long list for that one. It will come in time though. =) The librarians who work here have all been very friendly and helpful. They are more than willing to look things up for me and help me find things. I even lost my library card once and they had it replaced within a matter of minutes. The library is really open and clean. There are computers w/internet access for patrons to use. Every time I’ve been in, every single computer has been occupied. I have my own computer at home, so I’ve never inquired about how long the wait is to get on one or what the time limit is. But, they are available. I only wish the library had longer hours. Once upon a time ago they did. I guess the City of Jax cut own on the budget? I have no idea, but the hours have shortened drastically. My hubby took a photo of their current posted hours back in May when we were there… you can view it here: Great library. I’m glad we have a really good one so close to home!

This library is the closest one to where we live, so when we need a library for whatever reason this is the one we use. We mostly use this library to rent some of the many DVDs they have and occasionally will check out a book if for some odd reason it isn’t released in the e-book format… The employees are very helpful and friendly and will help whenever you’re in need of assistance. The library is kept clean and orderly and for the most part the shelves are stocked with numerous books from you’re favorite author. We will definitely return in the future.

I have been going to this library since grade school. It used to be my childhood sanctuary and is pretty near and dear to my heart. Even to this day, I still frequent the library. It bothers me that budget cuts continually threaten the livelihood of public libraries, but that’s another issue. Like most other libraries, the Wesconnett has limited hours, so it’s best to check for their hours of operation. This library has gone through a couple of renovations over the years and the improvements are so awesome. They have two study/conference rooms in addition to a large meeting room, that you can reserve. There are plenty of desk space and plugs to keep me happy. In addition, they recently added more desks with plugs to accommodate more people who need work stations. Of course there are computer stations throughout the library; adult, teen, and children section. There’s even a new computer lab-esque area that’s designated for continued education(?) I will inquire about this the next time I visit. The magazines section are near the big window panes. I think it was a smart decision to move the magazine/media section to that area because of all the natural lighting. There are several tables near there as well. I only wish those tables had access to plugs. That would make this library a 5 in my book.
