Gator City Taxi & Shuttle Service Dispatch

Just took a Gator City taxi from the airport…$ 65.00! And to add insult to injury the lady dispatcher at the airport was rude and the cabs were slow then the driver was even worse than she was. I highly recommend you never use this taxi company. It’s the only one at the airport so I guess they think they can treat customers like dirt. Call Über, maybe we can put these clowns out of business.

Dirty cab inside and out, unresponsive driver who complained about having a slow day and the I am charged $ 48 for a 20 minute trip home from the airport in one of the worst smelling and smoky interiors I’ve been in in many years. Disgusting and I sure miss Über drivers who weren’t there at midnight last night.

When calling the company, it usually takes on average 3 – 4 min to talk to anyone. Then you can expect to get someone on the line who sounds like they hate you (every now and then you get someone pleasant). The quoted times are never accurate, so just be safe and give yourself an hour, so when they tell you 15min, and 45 go by, you still have a chance to call someone else. I try to be nice to the drivers because everything up to the point of them picking me up is outta of their control. However, there is nothing like smelling someones cigarette, listening them on their phone, cursing at other drivers as they recklessly endanger my life, only to stick their hand out and rape me finacially and and expect a tip. Sorry, guys, tried to support you, but you lost me to Über.

My friend and I were leaving the Jacksonville airport. We usually take the group shuttle, but took your taxi service to save time and money. The woman at the airport said for both my friend and I, it would cost $ 32. To my dismay the taxi driver put on the meter and the ride to the hotel was over $ 50. I don’t mind paying $ 50, I mind that I was lied to. That the person intentionally bait and switched me. DO NOT USE THEIR TAXI!

Took a limo (different company) to airport =$ 65; on the return home was quoted $ 65 by Gator Taxi at the airport before entering the cab. No traffic and same route as the limo. They then try to stick me with a bill for $ 100. I feel dirty getting involved with this scam.

The worst service ever!!! Made us wait over an hour to be picked up at the ramada inn– comedy zone! Never again!

Lousy service. You call in advance for a taxi and then spin the wheel of fortune to see if they show up. Has happened several times and they don’t even bother calling you back to tell you they don’t have a driver.

Just called company for cab fare estimate and reservation. Going from Arlington to Hyatt downtown. Trip is 5.5 miles one way and woman gave me an estimate of $ 10.00-$ 22.00. I asked for specific fare rates and she said there are none. I said that’s a large range. She said «ma’am I gave you an estimate that’s all I can do for you. Reporting to BBB. Cab fare is exact there is no huge range.

We walked up and requested a taxi. He asked where so I told him the Hilton which is about 5 miles away. He then told me that there was a free shuttle service if I wanted that. I said no we would like a taxi. He then passed me to the next guy in line who really didn’t want to take us to the hotel either. When he dropped us off I asked why the other driver didn’t want to take us? Was it because the hotel wasn’t that far so he didn’t think he would make much money? He smiled and said its ok ma’am. I will NEVER use them again even though we fly very often!

Real bad experience with this very high-​priced taxi service (relative to their competition). Driver initially indicated that the meter was new, then broken, yet still insisted on overcharging.

DO NOT EVER USE THIS TAXI SERVICE EVER. I used this taxi service last night after the bar and dropped my $ 500 phone in the back. I called the cab service not even 2 minutes after he left. The phone got stolen. Dispatch «couldn’t get a hold of the driver»… Then when they called back half an hour later, all they had to say was, «The driver looked he didn’t have it.» Even though nobody from the company other than the driver looked. Then when we called again to ask for them to look again, our number was blocked and we couldn’t get through. We had to ask someone else to call for us. At the end of the night the «driver nor the cab had the phone». Again, DO NOT EVER USE THIS CAB SERVICE.

They will tell you 15 minutes and just never show up. Then call back 2 hours later and ask if you need a taxi.

If I could give less than one star I certainly would. we asked for a cab at 1830. by calling at 1430 we would think that wouldn’t be an issue to make sure 5 ladies would get to our destination. .apparently we were wrong. the operator was also rude. so we called another company and they got a $ 20 tip. gator sucks. that is all

I’m officially never taking another taxi again. Über all the way from now on! I took Über on the way to JAX airport from the town center area and it cost me $ 38. Got to the airport and realized I missed my flight so I decide to take a taxi back home… the EXACT same route cost me 64.99 plus 20% tip! NEVER TAKING A TAXI AGAIN.

Will never use these people again. The driver that took me to the JAX Airport was on the phone, texting and sending photos while driving and kept looking down on his phone while going extremely fast. He was also replying to his text messages while he drove. I was terrified and didn’t give him any tip and I’ll continue to post this review everywhere I see their company name. With the many deaths related to driving and texting this should never be allowed and companies should make sure their drivers are more responsible.

I don’t even want to put any stars because this company is a scam. First off you don’t even know me but you are assuming I’m an idiot. I was dropping off a rental car and needed a ride back to my house. I asked the driver to take me to a certain area he asked «where’s that?» You are a cab driver what if I was a tourist is that how you treat a customer asking THEM how to get places? The location was 3 miles if that, it was right straight out of the airport no turns or complicated directions. I told him as I saw the fare rising that he was milking the fare, I live in New York also so don’t even try to pull some shit on me. Slow driving, acting like you’re lost, asking me repeatedly where I am going, telling me you don’t know the cost of the ride, pretending that your native language is the barrier problem etc. i had to stop the driver mid ride and get out and walk because the fare was rising so rapidly probably because of the rigged calculations. He didn’t even pull over, he stopped at a light held up traffic because he shut the fare off and that was as far as he was going. Mind you it was after 9 and pouring rain. What a crappy company and awful service. And another thing learn english or gtfo!

This cab company likes to take their clients around the longest routes to hike the fairs as much as possible. Call your own cab or for the same price you can get a town car service.

Called Gator Cab looking for a van to take my party of 9 to a wedding 46 miles away, got a quote and was treated nicely by Kateland the dispatcher, who gave me her direct line to make final details. I had compared prices with other services and this company had the best rates and were not rude and listen to what Dates I needed unlike another service who were about 5 times higher.

I flew into Jacksonville airport and took a cab from there to my Marriott in Jacksonville beach. The cab ride took roughly 45 minutes and I was charged $ 90 after tip. It wasn’t until I took the same cab company from the Beach to the airport and was charged a flat fee of $ 50 that I realized I had been swindled by my first cab driver. The second driver told me that the ones at the airport do that all the time. They took me way out of the way and charged me more. I was following the route on GPS and didn’t really say anything because I assume the cab driver would know better than me. In the future, call ahead and have one from the city come out and pick you up because the ones that are there will screw you over.
The cab driver that took me to the airport who was affiliated with a different branch of Gator Cabs was great and should get 5 stars.
