I had a phenomenal experience at Elite Salon, though I will qualify that I came only for a 55 minute massage and did not use other services this time. I called and was able to get an appointment right away. I arrived early and was able to begin my massage a little early too. Everyone here was so nice and professional. Also, like so many others I used a groupon deal but I would have felt that I got my money’s worth even if I paid full price. Shawn is an amazing masseuse and definitely has strength and technique to work out every last problem area, even those you didn’t realize needed work. If I was rating on his massage alone, I would go for five plus stars, it was that spectacular. The location is a little out of the way unless perhaps you live or work in the Ortega area. The salon itself is going through some remodeling, so perhaps the next time I am in it will be a little more updated. I would have preferred different background sounds, like nature, than music with singing but I suppose I could have requested something to listen to that was more to my taste. Overall great service and I will definitely be back.

This place is A-OK. It is a C+ My daughter and I LOVED our massages. Luna had Ebony and she was floating on clouds when she came out and wanted to sign up again immediately. My massage therapist, Gabby was so good at listening to my needs and making sure my preferences were met. The manager, Beth, was very kind in allowing me to dictate over the phone answers to the intake form. This was essential you see, as we were running 30 minutes late. This massage was part of a mommy & me day that started at Ashes Boutique at the beaches. I gave myself an hour to get there, leaving Ashes at 1:30pm for our 2:30 appointment. We got there, squealing into the parking lot at 3:00pm. The traffic was the worst I’ve ever had in JAX. If Beth hadn’t been sweet enough to take the time to do that, our massage would have been 45 minutes long instead of an hour. The refreshment area is stocked with an assortment of drinks and snacks. It is different from most spas in that there weren’t many refreshing items, such as cucumber water or wine, but my daughter loved it. The main reason I didn’t give them four stars is their sales approach. The last thing I want to do after I receive a massage, is to have the person who just touched me all over ask me if I would like to have her do it again, and by the way… here’s the contract. I feel just awful for the therapists as I assume it is likely uncomfortable for them as well. I’m euphoric, this is not the time to discuss a legally binding contract. I really had no business making those types of decisions in that moment. It still sits sour in my stomach two weeks later. I really wish they would offer the contract in advance of the massage, when your consciousness hasn’t been altered by bliss and you can decide afterwards if you would like to sign up for more.

I first tried this salon a few years ago when I saw a coupon for a massage on a website. I get a lot of deep tissue massages, and I’ve had a lot of bad ones too, so I feel pretty good about saying that this place is great! Shawn, if he is still there, is wonderful. He really pays attention to problem areas and gives a very strong massage. I highly recommend asking for him!

I want to start my review with the positive. My massage therapist was very strong. Since I have trouble finding someone that can provide a good deep tissue massage, the power demonstarted by my therapist was invigorating. Unfortunately, I also left feeling totally ripped off. I had purchased a 90 minute massage through one of the discount gift certificate sites. I know that the therapists often hate the«coupon» customers, but I tip excellently on the retail price of the service and then some, so they should welcome the business these sites bring. So, what’s the reason for my low rating? I arrived for my 1:30 appointment at 1:31 due to an accident on the ramp from I-10 to Roosevelt. I am chronically early, so even though I was still pretty much on time I felt bad for being 1 minute late. My 90 minute massage did not start until 1:48 and was completed by 2:45. Because I get massage regularly, I know and hour massage is usually about 50 minutes. However, I frequently get 90 minute massages and they have always been a full 90 minutes. I have no idea why my 90 minute massage was only 57 minutes, but that is too close to an hour massage and no where near an acceptable 90 minute massage… and that left me feeling like I was ripped off. I did not get what was advertised, nor what I paid for, and for these reasons I can’t recommend this business, nor will I return.

The prices outweigh the skill set of the stylist. Will not be back

I bought the spa pedicure via Living Social a while ago and decided to add on the shellac mani upon arrival. I got there 10 minutes earlier then my appointment time, gave them my Living Social voucher and was served my mimosa(YUM by the way!)…yet 3 people were seen before me and it took 15 minutes for anyone to ask me about my appointment time. Before I could get officially PO’d, I was taken to the back to soak my feet and pick my color until the young woman assigned to me finished up with her customer. That calmed me down a bit; I was just glad that I wasnt being overlooked lol But they could have told me that in the first place. This is the only reason I havent given them 5 stars. All negativity stops there. The atmosphere was very quaint and the staff were very friendly. My feet were done wonderfully and there was great conversation as well. I honestly can’t remember her name, but she has a gentle touch and we had alot in common, including both being in the military. A major point I would like to mention is that it is ALLAMERICANOWNEDANDOPERATED. I am definitely not one to discriminate… I believe we are all one race: HUMAN. And if nothing else, when I want a man/pedi, thats the bottom line and can care less who does it, as long as I get my money’s worth. But at the end of the day, I love my heritage and I love my country(flaws and all lol) so it was definitely nice to support an American owned business. I am not going to go into much more explanation because I am sure there are plenty of you who know EXACTLY where I am coming from lol The older woman who did my Shellac manicure was oh-so sweet and charming! She had a great sense of humor and just radiated the«Mom» vibe. Come to find out she was the manager/co-owner of the spa and you would never know it by how hospitable she is! She was very informative and we also found out how much we have in common(jazz!). She also gave me the details in regards to the benefits of a Shellac vs acrylic nails, and why my nails break after they get a certain length(I use too much hand sanitizer… its better to just wash and moisturize my hands because the huge amount of alcohol in sanitizer weakens my nails). She also dabbles with all the products, including painting one of her own nails to give you an idea of what it looks like before she puts it on you(which I think is highly courteous!). I definitely plan on making this my go-to spot! All in all, this is a great place to come to pamper yourself. The prices are a tad bit higher then what I’m used to… just a tad… but you are definitely getting what you pay for. Hope this helps… lets support our American owned businesses folks! :-)
