Down to Earth Farm

Organic local produce! Love it. Find them at RAM, Riverside Arts Market. You can probably find them other places, but I know for sure at RAM. You really can’t go wrong supporting a local farmer! As a society, we’ve totally gotten away from knowing who grows our food, so I love that I can actually meet and know the people here, and have an understanding of their farming practices. And respect for what they do! It’s hard work, I could never do it… but I totally admire what they do, especially since they do it organically!

We almost didn’t stop at Down to Earth during the tour de farm but I was so glad we did! You have to get off 10 and drive through some neighborhoods before you come upon it. Brian sells his fruits, veggies, and flowers at RAM and the Jax Beach Farmers Market every weekend. The family lives on the property (and are building a new house now) where they grow their crops and keep their chicken. They have both a greenhouse and outside crops. Rows and rows of gorgeous fruits and veggies, everything you could think of!
For the event they were selling their goodies and Dig Foods and community Loafs were there, too. Brian gave a little tour and told us about what and how they grow. They don’t use pesticides and have tons of plans for the future, too. Just after we left we found out they got 3^rd place in the science category at One Spark for their community kitchen idea. Awesome local resource that we’re lucky to have!
