Community First Credit Union

I have been a customer for a few years and call this location my home branch. Although, I’ve been a very low maintenance customer, I haven’t experienced many challenges but above and beyond customer service wasn’t my experience this day. My son decided to step up and open a bank account. So of course, I suggested CFCU. Our other son banks here and it’s easy to transfer funds if an emergency arises. Well let’s just say opening his account wasn’t that simple. They said he was flagged and needed additional documentation that it was him (he’s a college student living with me). Now that makes me feel his identity at have been compromised, instead of assuring us that wasn’t the case, the CSR wouldn’t explain why he was facing such extra scrutiny. He requires a birth certificate along with DL AND SS card. The CSR didn’t care to offer him any services or share information about the bank. No welcome packets, nothing. There are plenty of banking institutions here, what makes you a step above the rest? Therefore, I do not believe they’ve earned 5 stars from me. As any credit union, they have low interest rates and no fees. I think they need to make each customer feel as if they are their number one priority regardless of their age or amount deposited.

I just opened my account with them online and I am already impressed with their service! They made things so easy and I am looking forward to a long relationship with them.

The staff at community first are all amazing! I got my car through financing here and it was the smoothest process ever! You will not be disappointed and they have free checking!

Love love love. Best credit union I’ve ever been to. Staff is friendly. Building is very clean and organized. Drive thru with 24 hour ATM. Saturday hours.

This particular location is in a prime spot located right across from the BP and the Wendy’s and the post office. It is a very small location complete with a drive through.
The parking lot is pretty tricky so you might want to be careful when going in and out of it. There are two sides of the branch, but I’m only familiar with one side, so i can’t really speak for how much parking there is. They also have drive thru service and it can get pretty busy.
The service is friendly and efficient. The teller has always been helpful and my banker has been friendly and helped get everything on track for my account throughout my experience thus far.
So far i can say i like banking here, but it’s another credit union that offers me another place to save some money.

Absolutely the best place I have ever done banking business with! The employees are SO friendly and remember your name, advise of services and events coming up with no heavy-​pressure sales tactics. Very little to no fees, instrumental in helping us recover from a bankruptcy. Gail assisted us with a loan and was so helpful. They dont care if you have a two figure or a six figure account, you are still treated with respect. this place is one of the best kept secrets in Jax… maybe I shouldn’t have said anything! ;)
