Geek Squad isn’t just for computers. I have ALWAYS received excellent customer service. The store manager is accessible if I need to talk with him. I hope I NEVER have to go without Geek Squad. I have purchased a refrigerator, a laptop, a stove and a dryer and a washing machine in the past(haven’t receive stove and dryer yet. delivering set up for Mar 3. They do not hesitate nor give me the«run around» if I have to call them. Outstanding over all and in every department. I’m sticking with BestBuy and the Geek Squad! I highly recommend both the store and Geek Squad. LOVELOVELOVE them.

The older security man(African American) and the young man at checkout get five stars. The mobile department, however, gets ONE star. They are rude, awful, don’t want to help, will argue with you and make you so pissed that you never go back. I do not recommend them. At all. If you don’t like your job(and they act like they don’t), go somewhere else!

The store has a decent selection of movies and video games. The prices on the TVs and major appliances are good. Sometimes they have open box clearance items for around 50% off retail and you can get a really good deal. My only major gripe is sometimes I just want to browse and don’t need to be approached by a sales associate every 2 steps I take.

Went in to buy a big screen tv for my husband for Father’s Day. Was totally ignored by 3 employees in that section. And I mean not even acknowledged as being on their planet. They walked right past me without so much as a word or a glance. We decided due to the fact we had questions that needed answers, we’d drive up to the Morehead City store. As we were walking out, the manager finally spoke to us and said«Are you finding everything ok?» I told him no and told him that 3 of his employees had walked past me as if I didn’t exist. His response? «I only have 2 people working that section.» My response? «Well I don’t know who is working that section, but there were THREE who walked past me without offering any help. I CANCOUNT!» He asked what I was looking for, I told him, handed him my paper with the SKU on it and told him which SKU I wanted information about(had 2 tvs we were looking at). My husband told him that according to the company website, his store didn’t have that 2nd one in stock. I asked him could he call the Morehead store and ask them if they had it and if so, would they hold it for me as we were heading that way. He did say that he’d do that, but instead he checks his own inventory and finds ONE. Now I will say we did buy that tv there, but ONLY because my husband did not want to drive all the way to Morehead when we had no other reason to be there. The Morehead City store is MUCH better at customer service and selection. From my house they are almost equal distance, so if I have a choice, I’ll be shopping the Morehead City store over the Jax store. This was not the first experience like this I’ve had there, so I’ve been given the impression that the employees at the Jax store simply do not care. This particular store wouldn’t even get ONE star from me, but this review gives it 2 only because it is part of a chain that I do like and I have other stores I can shop.

Its a clean store, I like the selection of product, but I’ve never needed assistance in order to see how the employees do with questions. The registers are always fast moving and friendly and accurate on pricing.

I have never had a good experience in this particular Best Buy. The employees always seem to have more importnat things going on than actually helping customers. On one occasion I was standing by the car stereos when an employee walked by headed to the back room. When I asked him for help, he said he would be right back. About a minute later he walked out of the backroom, walked by me and then proceeded to walk out the front door. On another occasion I asked a young lady about a home stereo, without looking up from her cellphone she stated«yeah, we are out of that one». I haven’t been back since.

My wife and I visited the Best Buy to check out and demo a Canon Rebel XSi digital SLR camera. None of the DSLR cameras had any external power or batteries. We asked to demo one, and the female clerk said«yeah none of them have any power, we’re working on getting that fixed» or words to that effect. She couldn’t help us any more than that. We’re looking at purchasing a $ 750 camera and we were unable to demo any of them besides pick them up… So we went to target instead and were able to demo one there. We also looked at cell phones. I picked up one phone, and the face plate was broken off it it, it was just sitting on top of it. I picked up another phone, and it too was broken. I know it’s a non-working version, but what does that say of the product when the display model is broken in half and no one on the staff cares to fix it? We walked around the other departments and the staff was attentive and asked us if we were finding everything ok. The store looked clean and well stocked. Overall, we looked online and found what we wanted and knew it would be at the store in Jacksonville. We went there to inspect and demo it, but walked away disappointed and we definitely felt like we wasted a trip.
