If I could give a zero I would. Rude bartenders and employees. Spend your money elsewhere. Bad place.

Busy, loud and crowded the night I came. Decent prices, generous drink sizes too. Bad layout that made getting around difficult and awkward. Running into people is commonplace and for me I really didn’t enjoy how congested it was. I doubt I’ll be coming back again under normal circumstances.

Alright. So this review is based off my experience at college places. It’s an ok bar. Great because there’s no cover charge. Drinks were a little watered down but the prices were good. Nothing to expensive. It’s better than paying $ 20 for one drink(DC Prices). Instead I paid $ 20 for 5 drinks!

Your style will determine which night is best for you at the Ritz. If you’re low key and just want to have a few drinks, play some pool or corn hole, listen to live music… Etc Then any night from Monday through Thursday(though Thursday is pushing it) is for you. There’s enough people during the week where the place doesn’t feel empty, there’s great music(usually live around 10), big TVs if you’re watching the world series… The drinks are enough and the service is great. However, if you’re style is more… Flashy girls, loud guys, annoyed bouncers, lots of people, DJ spinning the beats in a smoky, make-shift club: Then Friday and the weekend is for you. The shots are pouring, there’s a dress code, everyone’s having a great time mingling and dancing until they get too tipsy to carry on. Very much a younger crowd mixed with a wish-I-was-younger crowd. It’s a good time, if that’s your thing. I’ve experienced both and as a versatile lady I can appreciate both. Choose wisely for your taste, go with good company and you’ll have a great time no matter what day of the week it is.

Great bar always full of 20 somethings. Good prices on beer and usually something going on. I left my card here once and they saved it for me when i sobered up. great staff.

Never seen a bartender that couldn’t make a whiskey and coke. until the ritz. They serve singles in pint glasses filled to the brim with coke so you can’t taste the alcohol at all. that would had been great if I was a teen and this was my first drink however I have been to bars for a very long time as a patron and bartender and this was amateur hour watching the bartenders attempt to pour drinks. when I asked the bartender if he could make them in a rocks glass he was actually dumb enough to tell me that if he poured my drink in a smaller glass it would taste the same. No shit? So I explained that I would like a remake in a rocks glass and he refused saying he couldn’t do it and we would still have to pay for the singles he put in pint glasses(essentially expensive cola at that point). My girlfriend and I left our«cokes» there and went to a real bar.

The ritz happy hour is the best in town!!! A great group of people hang out here on a regular basis… It’s like the«Cheers» of Jax Bch!!! Ask for Casey and she will be sure to make your visit a great experience!

Dude, it was raining like a muther, like it has been fer the last three months here in N Fla, I cut outa werk early, the boss was in the office makin it with a couple of the waitresses and he was gonna be in there a while, so I decided to go have a coldie at some new place I had heard of, The Ritz. Fortunately I found a parkin space close to the door, got a bit wet in the rain goin to the door, and a chic named Casey greeted me with a fresh bar towel. A nice greeting I must say. I toweled off. «Fireball up and a Bud Lt please.» «Here you go sir, and here is my phone number too, I get off at 6.» Well I wont go into the details, but I now do Happy Hour here at least three times a week and I can attest to the fact that all the bartenders are just as friendly as Casey. I love this place!

Strong drinks in pint glasses and the busiest bar on the weekends. A younger crowd later but a staple bar to go to for happy hour to 2am. Pool, fooseball, games galore. Ask for Archie for an absinthe shot!

I had a great time visiting until one of the bar tenders kicked me out for buying a girl a drink. Also, he took my money for the drinks before I got kicked out.

When I first moved to Jax 4 years ago I thought the Ritz was alright. Now I’m not impressed at all. Gets really packed and the crowd that goes here isn’t really my flavor. It’s like the sorority/frat type of crowd and the women here are prudes. Can’t even get a friendly conversation going with any of them because they’re all on guard to any guy that tries to talk to them. Drinks and prices are ok I guess. Not sure if they have food or not?

Mature crowd early and very young crowd at night. Service is hard to come by.

This place, it really depends on how your mood is. Came here for my girlfriend’s birthday. It was a blast. Fun place to get together. Drinks are good and decent price. Bartenders were super friendly and awesome. Definitely be back soon.

The Ritz: a great place to meet. If you like smoke heavy air and loud music. Ten years ago I was at the Ritz about once a week. A bar at the beach was the only place you could find me when I was going out with my friends. I don’t know what’s happened over the years, but it’s not as crazy/busy as I remember it to be. Granted at 10PM we were ready to call it a night rather than just starting it. Decently priced mixed drinks are a winner, so when I want a ‘bar’ Ritz will be on my list but I think I’ll stick to my brew pubs for now.

Quick question: where would you go to get cheap drinks at the place to be in town? Probably Ritz. I have no idea why I thought it was a Mexican place when I first pulled in. After ordering drinks, I could not believe how cheap they are, and they come in large glasses. For a second, maybe I did feel like it was Mexico. Better have a beyond legit ID because the bouncers here will study that shit like it’s a coded treasure map. The guy to girl ratio is about, oh 5 to 1. But the girls tend to be better looking so maybe it’ll all even out in the end. Meaning the top 20% of dudes can hope to have a real chance to not getting rejected and everyone else just go home and play Call of Duty or watch Walking Dead reruns.

The Ritz, like most things in life, is all about timing. If you come here on a Friday or Saturday night, you’ll likely hate it. There’s going to be a line to get in, a line to get a drink, and a line to the bathroom. Despite all the waiting, people flock here. Why? Because it’s the frickin’ RITZ, that’s why. I find the best times to come here are Monday-Thursday night, and Sunday during a jags away game. You’ll find a decent crowd of Jax Beach locals sprinkled in with a 21st birthday or two, and enough room to play some uninterrupted gamed of pool. If you’re here during a jags away game, you’ll find free burgers, wings, and fried fish. On top of that, all their drought beers are $ 2.50, including sweet water 420 and Guinness. At the end of the day, the place is a staple and it’s not going anywhere. It’s owned and managed by the same people that run the Brix and Lemon Bar, so there’s a chance you’ll see some of the same bartenders around. 4⁄5 will wait to get in.

I’ve been here a few times over the past year. Actually, it was exactly the one year anniversary of the first time I had been there when I went last weekend for my birthday to meet up with my crew for a night of bar crawling. Frankly, it’s not the best I’ve ever been to, but the drinks are decent at a decent price and the crowd is nice to look at. There is a particular corner by the bathroom that we like to hang out because it’s less people bumping into us. There is a little shack outside that serves food, and it smells awesome and I’m more sad that I didn’t try their food rather than stay the whole night in Ritz. The night I went was kind of empty but I still enjoyed the decent music. There is this really cute walk-up window called Hole In The Wall Bar and I can’t help but laugh about it. They are allowed to smoke here, and seeing the college crowd and beach visitors trying to hook up and impress one another is funny to watch. I pretty much people watch while there. Maybe it was the night I was there, but it didn’t make me feel like partying, but it was easy to meet my friends, have one drink then leave. Other nights I have been there, it has been live. Great fun, awesome drinks and intense music ranging from rap to pop to top 40 to EDM. I can’t complain about the place, but I’m sort of hit-or-miss with this place when it comes to a good time.

A strange corner of Jax beach. I can say that the price is definitely right here. They have a large draft selection, and seem to put out reasonably tasty mixed drinks. Low and behold, they even mix up a decent bloody mary. Here are a few take aways from the couple of times I’ve been to the Ritz. First, if you stop by you will leave smelling like the Ritz. It does not matter how long you are here, it’s just going to happen. Which brings me to my second point: people smoke here. Not just casually, but pretty heavily all day. On the upside, they have an enormous bar. It takes up probably a third of the square footage of the bar, so you should never have any trouble getting a drink. The crowd is more local than some other spots. There are quite a few old barflies here during the day posted up on their stools. What a great place to watch old people hook up. At night I understand it gets a little louder and definitely younger. The charm is the divey-ness. Music is just on the trashy side of normal, but it fits. Décor is minimal and smoke stained and the crowd is here to party. Don’t forget to tip your ratchet DJ, because apparently he has a tip jar.

Oh, the Ritz. Like most people at the beach, I have a love/hate relationship with this place. It’s slogan«A Great Place to Meet» may very well be true because you’ll usually find it overwhelmingly packed on Friday and Saturday nights. Still, a large percentage of the clientele is obnoxious and overserved on these nights. I generally steer clear unless its a special occasion. However, for Happy Hour or to watch football on a Sunday afternoon, the Ritz is actually a great bar. Barstools that are hidden away on busy nights are repositioned around the huge, central bar, TVs all around, three pool tables as well as foosball are available for enjoyment. It’s really a completely different vibe. The service is usually efficient even on the crazy, busy nights, and I actually love a few of the bartenders. All in all, I’d say the Ritz is a little overrated as far as beach bars go, but it’s still«a pretty good place to meet.» :)

This is where all the beautiful people in JAX beach go to hang out for a fun night. I rolled in here with my buddies Saturday and even at close to midnight there was a 10 minute waiting line out the door. The place is very spacious and sits close to the beach. You can hang at the bar, dance it up or chill in their patio area. It was a good mix of everything at a bar — people were dancing, dudes were hitting on all the women, TVs were all over the place to catch up on sports and they have pool tables and a foosball center(really? foosball?). Obviously with a line out the door this place gets really packed and for good reason. For me it was as simple as standing around sipping on a beer people watching while chatting it up with the fellas. The place appeared to have a lot of young professionals although I felt like I was in college again. For a really busy place they do a great job of keeping their restroom clean. It does stink that they let people smoke inside although your clothes won’t reek of smoke like other places. Of all the bars I’ve been to this weekend I’ll be sure to come back when I’m in town again. Now if I can only leave there without whiplash next time I visit.
