D & LP Subs

Now I have eaten at D&LP’s many many times over the years. I’m just now getting around to writing my review. Actually I was hungry and they were open and I thought I already wrote it. Nope, and I found out when I went to check in. Ok the place is really small. More of a carry out type of place for a sandwich or a pie. They do have some tables n chairs inside. 3 tables and maybe a dozen chairs then a couple of barstools. Their menu is not really large but when it comes to subs I’m pretty easy. An Italian combo sub is my go to sandwich here and everywhere. They do it pretty good here too. They start out toasting the bread and that’s the way I like it. There is also a fair amount of meat on it. It is your normal sub fixins lettuce, tomatoes, onions, oil n vinegar, oregano. They do however put on some mayo and hot peppers which are both good in my book. So I have never had one of their pies but I hear they are tasty. So till next time when the stars line up I’ll stop in and get me another one of these things.

Loved this place. The ingredients refresh the meat was home and the bread was perfect. Delivery took about 10 minutes. I was very impressed will definitely call them back. Highly recommend this place if you’re in Jack beach. Michael Hosto

Great place! I highly recommend the lasagna, chicken parm, and calzones. The salads are fresh and are great too. Best Italian food in Jax Beach.

Good pizza, closest I have found to pizza from the North East down here yet. Way better than Als or Bruccis. Actually has taste and they use salt. Will be back!

Ordered a pep. and jalapeños Sicilian style. Got pizza in promised time 50 minutes. I’ve had better frozen pizza or 7 – 11 pizza. Pizza literally had no sauce. Crust was dry. Not a good pizza.

Love the beer specials and pizza combo deals. The wings are great also! This is a relaxed local place to go to watch the game, drink a few beers and eat pizza. Close to home, you don’t have to worry about cleaning up ;) I brought my friends here and we loved it. The location is good for a beach day because you can walk to your spot in the sand and either stop by here afterwards or beforehand. We like grabbing a few cheesesteaks before we hit the sand and getting a wind down beers afterwards; the waves all day and grabbing a beer at sunset puts you into a great sleep at night haha. Staff is always friendly and food is fresh and timely. The outdoor seating is a nice touch when you just want to chill and feel the breeze. Giving this local, family-​owned business a two thumbs way up!

This was our first time ordering from D & LP. We got the Spaghetti dinner, 10 piece BBQ wings, Chicken Parm sub and an order of garlic rolls.
My chicken parm sub was decent. The bread wasn’t as fresh as it could’ve been and it needed a bit more seasoning but the chicken was tasty so overall not bad.
The BBQ wings were just above mediocre imo. Decent but not quite up to Dick’s Wings or Philly’s Finest.
The Garlic rolls were mediocre as well. Bread again could’ve been fresher and needed more garlic.
Now the Spaghetti was fantastic. Plenty of mozarella melted on top just how my dad likes it. My dad is very picky about spaghetti. He said he liked this spaghetti better than Al’s or Carrabbas.

Excellent pizza for a night snack. Delivery was prompt. Not much else to say about, they served their purpose and they did it right.

It’s ok. Maybe I am spoiled by growing up on the best pizza in the world from New Haven.

I have ordered almost everything on the menu for delivery at one time or another when I visit Jax Beach. Without fail, the person taking my order is wonderful; the service is unbelievably fast; the delivery staff comprises the nicest people on Earth; and the food is, without exception, incredibly fresh and delicious. From the Greek Pizza and the cheese steak sub with french fries, to the spaghetti and otherworldly meatballs, to the heavenly Fettuccine Alfredo with chicken and broccoli. you cannot go wrong with anything your order from these guys… unless, of course, you gain a ton of weight. but, then again, you really cannot blame them for that! They are that good!

Love this place. I live very nearby, and we always get subs-​to-​go for the beach.
They are delish — fresh with this amazing homemade Italian dressing, and the pizza is really good too. The guys that work here are nice and friendly, and don’t balk when you ask for something special.
The toasted subs take a few minutes, so if you are in a hurry — call ahead!

I’m a bit of a pizza snob so I’m actually being generous with 3 stars. We live 6 blocks from the restaurant and an afternoon delivery took right at an hour. Pizza was cold and soggy in the middle upon arrival. Average pizza that would probably be a little better hot. Might want to stick with the sandwiches here…

D&LP is a great little neighborhood pizza place. Living in Jax Beach, its really easy to walk over for a slice, whole pizza or a sandwich. The pizzas are really good, but this price is a little higher than I’d like sometimes. But i still go there regularly because its good quality.
I am a big fan of their chicken philly. Unlike most, the chicken is breaded which adds a little extra favor to it. They use mixed red and green peppers and onions which are grilled great. I am not a fan of mushrooms, but everyone else seems to like them. They also just started a daily sandwich, drink and chips special Monday through Friday and have a good 2 slice and a drink special everyday.
They staff there is really great and know the regulars by name. With all if the Ocean Pizzas that failed in that location, its good to see a family business that is staying afloat and making good food.

Here’s the thing about this place, its right by where I work and they are very nice about the fact that they’ll bring you even just one slice of pizza so I don’t have to leave to get it (love not having to order a min of $ 10-​$ 15 just get delivery) but the food itself is hit or miss. While my slice of pizza was almost bigger than my head, you could tell that the slice base was made hours ago (not fresh at all) and my mushrooms that I got on it were canned (last time they were fresh) but the kicker for me is that they don’t add cheese on top of the toppings you get before putting it «back» in the pizza oven. So when I go to pick up my GIANT slice all the topping fall right off!
I think this was my last attempt at eating anything from there b/​c honestly if the food is not good then the convenience is worthless.

This place is a hidden treasure! They have amazing pizza and their meatball subs are just delicious!
When you order extra cheese on a pizza? You get EXTRA cheese. When you ask for a change to a sub? No problem.
The food and service are great and I hope they stay in business for a very long time!
