Do not pay in full until you are sure you are receiving your order! My boyfriend purchased two large-ticket items(a mattress set and La-Z-Boy chair) in November of 2014 and paid in full at the time of sale. He chose Vermeulen’s because the first sales person he talked to was helpful but not pushy, and the prices weren’t outrageous compared to some other furniture stores. He was notified that he would be contacted within a week or two to schedule delivery. By December, we hadn’t heard from them, so we called. The bed was waiting at the store but they were waiting for the full order to come in and the La-Z-Boy was on back order(news we likely would not have received if we hadn’t called them). They said they could deliver the bed for now and the chair later, once it came in. By January, we still had not heard back from them about the chair. We called again, and they said it was still on back order but they had(conveniently) just received one to the store for«stock.» They arranged to deliver the chair that weekend. We were very disappointed in the lack of communication from the store — and the fact that both times we had to call to prompt action. The people we talked to on the phone did not take personal responsibility for the delay, and when we expressed frustration, we were not directed to a manager or someone who could address our concerns. I gave them a «3» instead of a «2» as we are now happy with the products. They certainly deserve a «2» for customer service, though.

Terrible customer service. Their employees are egotistical and cocky. Their furniture is way over priced. WAY overpriced. I wanted a couch of theirs that was $ 1000 and they said they would give me a hundred dollars off. I found it online the next day for $ 799(free shipping and no-tax). One employee said, «You women care for looks when men care for comfort.» I thought that was rude. Also, another associate asked me what price I wanted on a piece of furniture and I said $ 600 and he got up and shook my hand and said we can’t do that, thanks for coming in. He asked! And then basically invited me to leave. Will not be returning. The associates are a joke.
