I have such a soft-spot for the kindhearted business owners out there. This lady is at the top of the list. She handled our family’s small invasion with such grace and charm on a very busy morning for her. I was so very excited to get to stop in during a recent trip to the area to visit with my husband’s family. This small shop is even more adorable than the initial photos made it out to be. And the food? I posted no photos because it didn’t last long enough for us to think about taking any. Our group just had eggs, biscuits and homemade apple butter but they were delightful. The treats we took with us were tasty as well. While sadly I didn’t get to try any pie I have enough faith in the baker’s skill to order one and have it sent to me in Arizona without ever having tried one before. It may be my Christmas indulgence. If you have any interest in trying this place(and you would be a fool not to), I would recommend looking them up on Facebook. The owner does a really great job of utilizing social media and because of that I was both able to find out about them extending their hours to the Saturday that I was in town and learn about a lovely fall festival that I might not have had a chance to find out about otherwise.

Set in a renovated 1905 bank building, lies oven baked goodness. Big glass jars of cookies on the counter, a variety of coffee cakes and biscuits in the bakery case, a great selection of pies(including sugar free!), and breakfast and lunch items are available. Some items to choose from are quiche, biscuits and gravy(on Fridays), and sandwiches. The pecan pie looked wonderful. Special orders are available(48 hr notice needed). A flyer said there’s no sugar, low sugar and gluten free items, but I don’t know if they are special order or not. I tried the egg salad biscuit, which was the best egg salad sandwich I have ever had. I got a side of potato salad. It was soooo good. The owner made her grandmother’s potato salad, which has bacon in it. Delicious! I got peach pie, to go. I may have tried a bite immediately(I couldn’t help it). It was perfect. I got an Oatmeal Cookie and Caramel Pecan Cookies, and the people who ate them said they were wonderful. There’s inside seating. You can see the original bank vault when you go inside – it looks pretty cool. The building is small, just look for the pretty mural on the side of the building. The owner was super nice! Open Tues-Fri 7AM-1PM The owner goes to the farmers markets on Tues.(Jackson), Thurs.(Cape Girardeau), and Sat.(Cape Girardeau) There’s a sweet dog that hangs out on the front porch, I believe his name was Jack. Apparently, he’s the town dog. He loves attention.
