A lunchtime go-​to. I honestly never look at the menu because the lunch specials are always so good. Plate lunches. Quiche and soup of the day. Wraps and sandwiches. The vibe of the place is pure cool as well. Visiting Jackson? Make this a lunch stop. Live here? Make it a consistent number on your weekly food hunt. And get a cookie. Life’s short.

Props to this place for maintaining a pretty steady business with downtown in a slightly awkward transition. The atmosphere created by being downtown makes you feel like you’re actually in a large city, as does their food. Their sandwiches are super good. The prices are a little high for this kind of food, but it’s definitely worth the trip downtown. Love how laid back and simple it is.

Awesome restaurant!
The menu is pretty diverse so you are sure to find something you like. They are reasonably priced and have excellent service. Really, that hits everything you need in a restaurant. Enjoy!

Come here for a weekday breakfast in downtown Jackson.
I’m not sure if this place is new or not (not on Unilocal,but their sister location a few blocks away was), but it suffices for a bite and a cup.
Atmosphere is café as any other coffee shop (attchd photo), but the meal presentation looks like they don’t have a dishwasher hooked up yet, or something — «dining in» was served in a styrofoam cup on an aluminum pizza oven plate covered with parchment paper and coffee was also in styrofoam… no plates and mugs? Added a bit of «soup kitchen» feel.
I asked about wifi and was told I could log in if I was a Comcast customer… whuh? I’m not, so I didn’t (iPad w/AT&T LTE)
Scrambler Bowl (eggs, grits, cheese, turkey sub’d for sausage or bacon) was good, but I felt like the styrofoam made everything seem as tho the dining was not as important as the selling. Plus a cup of so-​so coffee: $ 7.36
New place? Maybe they are still maturing… I’ll probably check back if I return in the next few months.

You can’t do no better than Steve’s for lunch. Brisket wrap or Brisket pizza, add olives is my favorite but if there is seafood gumbo on the menu GET IT!
