Sleep Inn & Suites Downtown – Convention Center

It’s a nice ass hotel… the majority of people that come there are church niggas… breakfast is nasty as fuck they could do better for the price. nothing else to say I’d recommend going here if you don’t want to pay out the ass to stay at Hilton .but if I had the money I would stay at Hilton

This hotel is NOT closed. It provides excellent service at a great price. It is comfortable, clean and well located. The staff truly cares about the experience of travelers. They go out of their way to provide not only information but assistance so that you can accomplish whatever it is that you set out to do, in Jackson. This IS the place to stay.

I (female) had a horrible experience in January 2014 at this Sleep Inn in Jackson while traveling with my boyfriend. Both of us are in our early 20’s. Overall, if you traveling with or are a wife, mother, or daughter. DO NOT STAY HERE!
1. First room assigned. After passing through 2 large African American men and a prostitute, my room door did not close. The hinges were bent and it appeared as though the door had been kicked in as the hinges did not align.
2. Second room assigned on 3^rd floor. Upon opening the room door, I noticed the TV was on and extremely loud. Upon walking into the room, I saw the toilet was JUST flushed. It was still swirling and was not simply running. I yelled hello, to which there was no response. There was definitely someone in the room. I immediately went down to ask for a refund to prevent being attacked or worse by the individual in the room.
3. Unprofessional and negative management. The employee behind the desk was not wearing a uniform and had on a graphic tee and hoodie. After our first room complain he smirked and laughed when I stated I did not want to stay on the first floor. Also, after explaining what happened in the second room, he tried to say that was normal, while he had a sly grin on his face.
4. General safety.
– Strong signs of gang, drug, and prostitution. Anyone was let in the front door, given a head nod, and simply passed by the front desk. A large African American man was sitting at the end of the 3^rd floor just «watching» the hall.
I genuinely had never been more scared in my entire life while in that hotel. DO NOT STAY HERE.

It’s cheap, it’s clean, it’s name isn’t fancy but the accomodations are really nice, and if your meetings are downtown you will be within minutes from everything.
At the same time the Hilton Garden Inn is often the same price and right down the street, granted parking there is a pain, but they have room service and curb appeal.
All n’ all, Sleep Inn exceeded my expectations for this type of budget hotel. Free sausage, eggs, cofffee, and waffles for breakfast. Not always friendly, but certainly attentive staff. Anything I needed was taken care of immediatly. … And very nice rooms, beds, and TVs.
Honestly, the Hilton is nicer, but bot by that much.

After passing up quite a few hotels on the outskirts of Jackson we found, purely by accident, the Sleep Inn. I thought the place looked decent (in the dark)
So we called and asked for rates. The price was very reasonable, so we took a chance, the receptionist was amused we’d called from the parking lot. She was very friendly too.
Anyway we were thrilled, the place was modern, fresh and new looking. No beige walls here!
The room was the same, really nice floor tiling in the hip looking bathroom.
Beds were comfortable, with nice quality sheets and comforters.
It was nice to see some decent artwork that I’d actually want to look at.
Breakfast was what you’d expect, but if you choose the healthiest foods available (apples, oatmeal, yogurt, muffins) not a bad deal!
One thing, don’t let the old somewhat dirty carpeting in the hallway scare you off, once you open your room door, everything is good.
We’ll use this Sleep Inn again for sure.

Not just another Sleep Inn. This is a new hotel with a new design. They have finally found a designer that wants to be different. Flat screen TVs on the wall, decent artwork that doesn’t look like its been re-​used in every other hotel in the chain, and comfortable beds. Very nice building. Location is a little out of the way, doesn’t look like its in a good neighborhood but its OK. Would stay here every time I come thru Jackson if I could.
