Salsa Mississippi Studio & Club

A group of us stumbled into Salsas after a family dinner at Saltine on Saturday night. With quite the age range present, I wasn’t sure what to expect, but Salsa Mississippi didn’t disappoint. Great instructor (didn’t get his name but– bearded, bald guy) was AWESOME! He made everyone in the class feel comfortable learning the steps and also gave simple fixes to help us nail the more complicated steps and turns! Did I mention it was FREE?! Rules of the game… Just show up and dance! Can’t beat that with a bat!

Found this wonderful gem from my instructor of body pump. First went to the free Saturday salsa lesson and stayed for the dance party. We came back a few times for beginner group lessons which is only ten dollars. The lessons are taught to challenge the mean experience level of the guests. After the moves are demonstrated, you practice with various dance partners with and without music. This is nice because if you have been dancing with a long terms partner, it gives you contrast to leading. Maybe it’s the time of the year but about half of the time, no one else shows up, so we end up having private sessions. It is nice couple thing to do and afterwards when just chilling at home there is always salsa practice.

Great place to learn salsa! They have classes during the week as well as a studio party on Saturday nights.
