Good country food, I think I hurt myself! Good Buffet, fried chicken is just right. Light and crispy. Veggies well seasoned. I would recommend Pearls to anyone who likes good southern cooking.

This food surpasses all other southern food experiences I’ve had. Absolutely the best fried chicken. It was $ 35 for our family of 4. Come hungry!!! All you can eat buffet, all the owner’s recipes. Everyone was so nice, and the owner came to chat with us — made us feel like we were at a friend’s place. The restaurant is large, in an old strip mall. Nothing fancy, just good eats. We thought the neighborhood was nice. This was well worth deviating a bit from our road trip route.

What a fun place to enjoy Southern food. I love to go off the beaten track and find neighborhood places. We were driving from New Orleans and were on the Southside of Jackson and found Pearl’s through the GPS. The neighbor is a little ruff around the edges but once you walk into this cute clean, I mean clean friendly restaurant you feel like you are at a friends house. The place is buffet, one section for salad another for sweets and breads. The hot table has on this day some of the best fried chicken I have ever eaten. The BBQ ribs fell off the bones and the sauce was the best. They also had hamburgers in gravy. The vegetable section had, smothered cabbage, mustard greens, corn, best lima beans I have ever eaten and mac and cheese. This is a place where one can do serious damage to ones self. Since we were driving we had to just be happy with small tastes of all the wonderful food. There are several dining rooms and everyone was so friendly. Our daughter needed her cell phone charged and the young lady behind the counter was kind enough to let her plug in behind the counter. Get off the highway and go to Pearl’s you won’t be disappointed.
