— Decent bar in a medium-sized space, somewhat dark. It’s an old building. — Small draft selection but a good one. — Small menu, particularly for vegetarians. This is not a gastropub. — Burger was solid and the onion rings(an extra-cost upgrade from fries) were stellar. — Good arugula salad — Fine service from the bartender. — Music not too loud. You can have an actual conversation here. — They have a large private parking lot, but watch your undercarriage as you pull in. The high point as you cross the sidewalk is a bit too high. They need to fix that.

Went there years ago as George Street. Lots of good memories from that time. Went after a rehearsal dinner last week. Good beer selection but smoking was allowed upstairs and downstairs despite laws against it In the city of Jackson. Not recommended for those that can’t take second hand smoke.

This is a classic pub and restaurant, steps from the Capitol. I have been here many times, mainly for lunch but also for happy hour, and I have always left satisfied. The service is very good, and the food is large portioned comfort food that hits home! My group often likes to eat the chicken salad, the french dip, the burgers, and the plate of the day(an ever changing blue plate special). My personal favorite is the Pimento Cheese BLT… wow, it is an experience. Real homemade pimento cheese on a BLT? Yum! When they have gumbo or something special that they have created for that day, just try it! They know how to make good food, with large portions! They have some interesting beers on tap and a full bar, so you can count on some great mictrobrews in a frosty glass for happy hour! You can eat at the bar(full menu), and at night, they have dancing and music upstairs. Lunch can fill up quickly, and this is a bit of a smaller restaurant, so if you try to get a table later than noon you might have to wait! Parking can also fill up, as this is right next to all the State buildings. Check out some of their historical pictures… they have some interesting, historical items in this restaurant. A good spot with good food and great service!

We stopped in for a quick lunch as we drove through Jackson. Although the staff was friendly, it took a long time to have our orders taken and a longer time to have our food brought out(about 40 minutes). The owner apologized for the delay and explained that were very busy. My younger daughter had ordered mild wings which came out hot. We discussed it with the owner who said they only had one type of wing despite the menu offering either«mild or spicy honey mustard.» She offered to remake the wings and toss them with ranch dressing. When they finally came out fifteen minutes later, they were just plain fried chicken tenders. We asked for some ranch to dip them in and a to go container since the rest of us had finished eating and my daughter just ate them in the car.

In for a bite after work. Good food and service. Relaxed and had TVs so watched sports. The servers were right on their game and teamwork was evident.

Can’t say enough about the warm reception I received here. A Tuesday night, the kitchen was closed for some reason but everyone there was super chill… Chad did a great job behind the bar and pours the best Old Fashioned I’ve ever had! A definite must go joint in Jackson…

Super laid back bar! I used to go just about every Thursday for ladies night. There are 2 floors, down stairs is mostly for hanging out/talking, and it’s easier to gets drinks refilled on busy nights. Upstairs is for dancing, like ALOT of dancing — But beware, once a drink is spilled on the dance floor, you may fall and it may hurt. The floor is a bit slick. They bartenders are known for being strict, even though they have never been mean to me in any way — just trying to keep drinks flowing!

Very pleasantly surprised. Stopped in before a meeting and was in a time crunch. The food far exceeded my expectation and Brandi made sure I got my food and check swiftly. The homemade desserts looked so good I came back for dessert after my meeting. This time Brittany took care of my order and even made a recommendation for dessert that was extremely tasty. Large parking lot, good food, and great service… I will definitely be back.

Hot. Cramped. Terrible service(take way too long to close out our tab). Being from out of state, I assumed that Mississippi still allows smoking in bars only to find out after the fact that it is, in fact, illegal to smoke in bars; apparently George Street does not care at all about the law. Plenty of people openly smoking inside the bar and they even leave ashtrays out for patrons. Everyone had to take a shower when we got home because of how bad we smelled and I had a sore throat the next day from all the smoke. Would not return in a million years.

This place looks dark & mid-evil(we mean that in the best way possible!)!The building itself is a beautiful 100+ year building and it show cases its age and beauty via exposed brick and mortar walls and rich wood décor! Located right next to «Two Sisters Kitchen», we ate there and walked right on over to ye «Olé Tavern». It has a very laid back feel and the staff make you feel like this is the place you wanna take a load off. A great selection of beers some of which are local non-mainstream brews. Overall, a nice joint to visit but its the ambiance and the laid back attitudes that puts it one over the top!

This place felt like I had been there 100+ times, even though last weekend was my first time. The bar tender(Wes) was super cool, and my drink was never empty. I’m glad I was brought here, and I’ll be returning again for sure!

Went for karaōke one Wednesday night. Nice environment. There’s an upstairs and downstairs. We spent the most time upstairs. The staircase is very slim, so be careful! The beer selection was good. They have a couple arcade games, too.

Went to this restaurant and was nicely greeted and seated. When asked what was good, the waitress was kind and very helpful and the food came out quite quickly. I got the house burger based on her recommendation and it was huge but it was mediocre at best. The fries were also not seasoned and overalls oily. When it was time to pay, the waitress failed to bring a to-go box and took over 30 minutes to get us our check. Will I come here again? Definitely not.

The only redeeming quality was the burger. It did take about 30 minutes to come out and you cannot order it medium rare but it was tasty. Service was slow and not that friendly. The place has potential but the service is awful.

It has an old time Pub feel and look, but, offers plenty of «Fine Dining» choices as well! We were greeted and seated promptly by friendly staff. I had the Soup of the day, which was Shrimp and Corn Chowder… AWSOME…then I had the Fried Green Tomato and Bacon Sandwich which had«comeback» sauce on it! It was delicious, but, it was a little too much sauce, so, next time I’ll get sauce on the side! Darrell had the daily special which was Seafood Pasta… I had to stop him from licking the bowl! Lol! It’s GOOD y’all! We’ll DEFINATELY go back!

Kitchen closed on the weekend. Not from here and didn’t expect that. I guess I need to ask from now on if establishments serve food all 7 days of the week. Otherwise, cool place with lots of nice vibe.

We ordered the fried green tomato appetizer and LOVED it. I ordered the lump crab meat melt and my friend ordered the black and blue burger, they were sold out of the crab so I did the tuna and pasta stuffed tomato instead. Wow. They were both excellent. I highly recommend this place to hang out with a friend or two, eat, drink and enjoy Mississippi.

Got a chance to try this tavern for lunch and I was not disappointed. While busy, we were still seated promptly and had great, friendly service. I ordered the chicken salad sandwich with onion rings. Sandwich was on one if the best croissants I’ve ever had(not to mention massive) and sat a good 4 inches tall packed with delicious chicken salad. The onion rings were delicious. Not too thin, not too thick and with a great crunchy batter on them and served with awesome comeback sauce. I will definitely be eating here again!

Great pub feel. Monte Cristo to die for. Dark wood, exposed brick walls, good music playing — while I was only here for lunch before a business meeting I would most certainly come back for a beer after work. And the Monte Cristo sandwich is sinfully good — one of the best I’ve had in the country.
