If you can manage to get to High Noon during it’s hours, you won’t be disappointed. Healthy, hearty vegan food that tastes like food and not bland tofu! It’s inexpensive and perfect for a quick bite to eat.

If you’re looking for a healthy and delicious lunch, High Noon is your best bet in town. In a city like Jackson, vegan/vegetarian/gluten-free options, are hard to come by. Located inside Rainbow Natural Co-op, this small café has a homey and friendly vibe to it. The servers are super knowledgeable about the ever changing menu. Offering seasonal selections, the menu is typically small but you can usually find something new to try. The veggie bowls are my favorite! My only negative opinion of high noon? I wish they were open more often! They’re only open for lunch on weekdays, but hopefully in the future, they’ll be able to expand!

Great food for the vegetarian or vegan that you know. The options are very healthy. The only downside is that there is only a daily menu so you have to be ready for something new every time you come in!

The High Noon café sits inside this rainbow grocery co-op where you can find absolutely everything organic and natural. There’s also a store which welcomes you with such peaceful music you just don’t want to leave. I had the small harmony bowl with a side of their soup of the day which was curry carrot soup. So good, and fresh ingredients with a great crunch. They had 3 salad dressings, a Thai peanut dressing which I chose and was delish, a teriyaki dressing and a sweet Ginger which I also tried. I was delighted to find out they had unsweetened black cherry ice tea which tasted so good to me because I love cherries. They gave me a cup to go since I’m here working and it’s been super hot outside that was awesome. It was a wonderful experience and I highly recommend. Like an oasis in Jackson.

The small High Noon Café is located in the Rainbow Grocery. It’s a quiet little area to stop for a bite to eat. Over the years they have slimmed their menu but the food is still delicious. I always get the harmony bowl: broccoli, carrots, edamame, and rice with a ginger sauce. It is a great place for vegetarians or anyone looking for a meal on the healthier side. However they are only open for a few hours during lunch

My partner and I had the harmony bowl and it was delicious. Finally some great vegetarian food that’s tasty and hasn’t been over cooked. The spicy peanut sauce was excellent. Great service and nice atmosphere.

One of the most delightful lunch experiences I’ve ever had! The café is inside a natural grocery store, which my companion and I didn’t realize on our way through Jackson. We shopped a bit at the store and then continued on to lunch in the café. My partner’s black eyed pea burger was perfectly seasoned and came with a delicious dressing on the side. While my veggie wrap was just ok, the(vegan!) potato salad on the side was some of the best I’ve ever had, vegan or not. The half and half blueberry tea and ginger lemonade had just the right amount of kick and sweet. The best part was the people, though! Rhabb, the only server in the joint, deftly moved between tables and never missed a beat. He made us laugh and never let our glasses get empty. On our way out, we asked if they sold the lemonade in bottles, since we’re not big of throw away plastic containers. Rhabb said sadly that they only had it in foam cups. But as we were paying the friendly lady at the register, Rhabb surprised us with a mason jar full of the drink, for free! He was so nice, and I hope every traveler through Jackson gets to experience a «whole» meal at the High Noon Café with such great service!

We stopped in for lunch as we were passing through Jackson. Even though it was busy with only one guy running the floor, we walked in and were told to pick a table right away. He quickly took our drink order and shortly after also took our lunch order. He answered any questions we had about the menu adequately. Our meal was brought not more than fifteen minutes later. I had a beet burger with potato salad which was delicious. My husband had the special of the day — seaside(tofu) cakes with cole slaw and mash potatoes. He enjoyed his meal, as well. We split a piece of carrot cake which was amazing! Overall, we both enjoyed our experience! The fact that the food is organic and not chemically processed is my favorite part. We will go back if we drive that way again!

Yikes so my first review below was when I gave this place 5 stars, but they have dropped the ball in a big way. Now they only have one special a day and so you can only get from a selection of 3 things. The soup is watery but the day they had red curry quinoa was good but it bothers me I’m having to always pull up their weekly online menu instead of coming in expecting them to have something good. I know they got a new cook recently and they used to get packed so probably looking to streamline, but there has to be a better way. It makes me sad :( My favorite place to eat in Jackson and a welcome relief to a vegetarian. It’s sad that this is literally the only strictly vegetarian place in town. I also get frustrated with their hours sometimes because they’re only open for lunch(1130 – 2) and I want dinner too. The veggie wrap and make your own quesadillas are my favorite, but the whole menu is good(and for once I can actually eat the whole menu!). Also have to suggest they get some gluten free tortillas(right now the gf option is only brown rice)

I’m not a vegetarian or a vegan by any means. However, I walk past this restaurant regularly and have now eaten there on 3 separate occasions. The staff are young, friendly, and have made good recommendations that so far I have chosen not to follow. For example, they seem to know a core group of regulars who they greet by first name and ask about family(I’ve seen this every time I’ve eaten here). As a person who generally eats fleshy protein with meals, I left my comfort zone to eat vegetarian here. Most of the menu is simple and fresh(e.g., burrito, veggie burger, salads). The specials tend to venture into more complex dishes(e.g., a vegetarian take on crabcakes). What I have found is that he waitstaff give their honest opinion about the dishes if you ask. This is the only restaurant I’ve been in here in Jackson where a waiter told me not to order the special and recommended something that cost substantially less. I ordered the special, was disappointed, and then order the less expensive item which was delicious. I or my wife have ordered specials here 4 times and 3 of the 4 times they were good. So, I recommend giving them a try unless warned not too. Overall, great vegetarian food. Its the only vegetarian/vegan only option in Jackson that I know of. To friends, I suggest it if I know they are vegetarian/vegan or want to try something different.

I will admit… my pre-conception of Mississippi was not about their vegetarian food… but this place was a great way to prove me wrong! I came here for a late breakfast/early lunch with some friends while we were at a conference in Jackson. I was definitely pleasantly surprised to see such an awesome little café offering an all vegetarian menu with vegan and gluten free options! Everyone here was very nice and I really noticed the«southern hospitality»! The menu items are decently priced and I loved that they had daily specials depending on ingredients that are available. I ordered the Harmony bowl and it was alright. I KNOW. JUSTALRIGHT?! It was brown rice with vegetables and seasoned tofu. It came with a spicy thai peanut sauce that you could pour over. I expected it to be sautéed all together, which I think would have given it a little more flavor and excitement! It was a little bland and the vegetables didn’t taste fresh. I was a little disappointed but luckily, my friends’ food was better… so I will brag about that! Alex T. got the black eyed pea burger which was AMAZING… It was a home made patty garnished with fresh veggies and on perfectly toasted wheat bread. There was a side of chips and salsa with it. It also came with an aioli sauce but I am not sure if that was vegan. I would definitely get this next time! Mike W. got the special: seafood cakes with mashed potatoes and gravy and carrot coleslaw. This was a really awesome southern special but made with vegetarian ingredients! Very creative recipe… I bet all of their specials are awesome!

Thank god for this place or I would have starved here in Jackson. I had the Beet Burger with Daiya Cheese and the tomato basil soup! All organic, vegan and delicious!

As any respectable Mississippi hippie can tell you, this is the best restaurant in the state geared towards vegetarians/vegans. Okay, perhaps it’s the only one, but nevertheless, it’s excellent. I highly recommend the portobello mushroom burger! Note that they’re only open for lunch, Monday — Friday. The restaurant is connected to the Rainbow Natural Grocery Cooperative so you can also stock up on your granola, bean sprouts and Dr. Bronners.

5 stars! Really good vegetarian and vegan options! I had the black bean burrito and the spinach portobello caesar salad! The potato salad was excellent too! Great prices as well!

Having lived in Southern California and Pacific Northwest for a combined six years of my life, I’ve had some yummy vegetarian and vegan food. When I decided to move to Jackson, MS almost two years ago, the first thing I asked the Realtor who gave me a tour of the area… «Are there any good vegetarian restaurants or healthy places to eat?» She suggested I try High Noon Café inside the Rainbow Food Co-op. Within the week, I went there for lunch and have been going as often as I can. At the suggestion of Emily, the server from Oregon, I tried the black bean and spinach burrito with a side salad and ume dressing. To drink, the«Tade»(nka«Half-and-Half») with half unsweetened blueberry tea and sweetened ginger lemonade a very refreshing without being overly sweet option. I’ve been hooked ever since! Occasionally, I may venture off and try the beet burger or a soup special. While I’m never disappointed, I always go back to that burrito. Yum! I wish High Noon was open on weekends and for dinner, but I know the market right now in Jackson is not large for this type of restaurant.

Awesome. I love this place! It’s all vegetarian, which was wonderful. I love the high noon burger, although I must admit I miss not having fries with it. This is a great place to eat, and has many unique offerings. It’s not easy to find vegetarian food in Jackson, but this place is really good. When I lived in Jackson, I always hoped they would eventually serve dinner. Never happened. Oh well. If you can get there for lunch, it’s worth it!

This place rocks. It’s a small restaurant stuck on to the front of the a organic grocery store, with a trendy little zen/green store up front. It’s located in a great district of Jackson… as I am just here for a week, I don’t know much about the area. This café has some of the best vegetarian food I have ever had. The High Noon Rueben is made with a beet patty and is extremely delicious! The people are great, nice and willing to make sure you have a good meal. Also, it’s the best potato salad I have every had(don’t tell my mother-in-law). As I was paying for my meal, the manager and I struck up a conversation and he was helpful with other local attractions. His parting words about the food were«not bad for hippie food.» I couldn’t agree more, I enjoyed it so much I went back for lunch the next day too.

High Noon Café is located inside of Rainbow Co-op in the historic Fondren district, just outside of downtown Jackson. It’s the only strictly vegetarian restaurant in Jackson that I know of, but it’s only open for lunch. You don’t have to be a vegetarian to enjoy the offerings though, which offers regional and multiethnic inspired cuisine.
