Very pleased with this property. Pleasant staff, extensive breakfast, clean rooms well appointed(flat panels, comfy bedding, USB ports), good sized bathroom with lots of counter space, and a large pet area for our dog. Bonus: no pet fee! Good rate, too. Red Lobster is across the street and it’s fairly close to shopping areas. Couldn’t expect anything more for the money.

I just had to book a room over the phone and it took over 12 minutes. The operator was pleasant, but inexperienced and complained he had poor computer service because it was so slow. The price on-line and what he quoted me at the beginning of the call was $ 129. By the time he was ready to charge my card, the price went up to $ 154.29 due to fees and $ 10 because«…it just randomly goes up, I don’t know why.» $ 25.29 of fees and unexplainable reasons? I feel a bit scammed. This is the first and only time I will use Hampton.

Our stay was very pleasant. The room was clean and comfortable. Everything was up-to-date. The staff was friendly and helpful. Commentary bottled water was given to us. Even notified us of a severe weather warning for that night. The breakfast was very nice with a large selection of delicious choices. Many little added touches that make this place great. There was an indoor pool, but we did not use it.

Not a great representation of the Hilton brand. Hilton’s are usually nice and clean. –No fridge or microwave –Guy who checked us in was so weird and awkward –Small TV that barely worked(some channels didn’t have sound, others only partially came through) –No recycling –Washroom and shower was a bit dirty –Building was just old. One elevator? –Dirty sheets –Breakfast was terrible. not many options at all I was just very unimpressed. For the price you pay, you expect a bit more.

Seriously — this place is amazing. For a 2 star hotel, I cannot say enough about the friendliness of the staff, comfort, cleanliness, and the fantastic breakfast buffet. The people who work there take pride in their jobs and went above and beyond. Sharon, the gal who was running the breakfast buffet actually came to our table to clear our plates for us! Whenever you would see an employee in the hallways they would greet you. The front desk staff was equally as wonderful. A couple days after we got home, I realized that we left a shirt of my husbands in the closet and called the hotel to see if it had been turned in… of course it was(which I have never had happen when something has been left in a hotel), and of course they are shipping it to us. If I could give this place 10 stars, I would.

Booked and checked in late on a Sunday night. Front desk man, Jason, was pleasant on the phone and in person. He was extremely helpful in pointing out what was open past 10 in the area and directed us to the nearest Meijer for dog food. First off, I loved their dog policy — 2 dogs, any size, free. Which should be the policy at all hotels because our dogs have never gotten drunk and trashed a hotel room and held hotel parties. But we found that most hotels from Detroit to Ann Arbor had crappy pet policies. One told us we would need to have the dogs crated at all times and pay $ 50/dog! The hotel overall is nicely laid out and modern. It’s off the main road and far enough away from any highway noise. There’s ample parking and the grounds were grassy and wooded for our puppies bathroom breaks. The landscaping looked professional and well kept. Our room was clean, bright, and the linens were soft. Always love soft bath towels at hotels! The bathroom was spacious and well stocked with extra towels and all the necessities. Their free hot breakfast deserves high praises as it didn’t just consist of a waffle iron, but also had summer sausage, omelets, potatoes, oatmeal, fresh fruit. Couldn’t leave hungry from here! Cons: poorly lit parking lot and they ran out of newspapers by 9:30. Great hotel in this price range!

I like this place. However, that entry way is a lawsuit waiting to happen. Melted ice, when it’s –9 degrees outdoors, refreezes. Almost broke my neck 2X… so please be careful! However, the rooms are clean and nice! I always stay here when I’m in Jackson! Solid 4STARS

I will start by saying that I chose a Hampton because they now have branded comfortable bed and bedding. My daughter was at her first sleepaway camp, and we wanted to be somewhat close in case her first night went bad. When I arrived to check in, there was a little bit of wait while the front desk lady finished telling someone in the office some story. It wasn’t a long wait, but kind of an irritation(I had to drop my keys on the counter a couple times… no bell) We were checked in relatively quickly. The clerk was wearing a polo and jeans, which belied the neat and tidy appearance of the lobby. Kind of casual, but okay. She was very friendly and when we left for dinner, asked how things were as we passed. She gave us our keycard, and wrote a room number on the sleeve(which was a 200 number) and proceeded to tell me that my room was on the third floor. I figured the bottom floor was maybe meeting rooms and the pool, so I assumed it was correct. Since we paid for the room through Travelocity, the clerk was clear that the credit card I gave her would not be charged unless we had incidental expenses. We’d also not need to check out. We were on the third floor, but our room number was 3xx, not 2xx, as was written on the sleeve. Luckily, if there was someone in the 2xx room, that person wasn’t there or didn’t hear us try to get into the room. Once we got it all worked out, the room was nice. Temperature was perfect and the bed was fluffy and cozy(I may buy one of their pillows… seriously) They had complimentary wifi that was quick and also was an AT and T hotspot, so I had a great connection for both my tablet and phone. Slept good! The room was soundproofed well and nice and dark. I was awoken the next morning to the delicious smell of home made waffles…(They have a make your own waffle station as part of their complimentary breakfast.) YAY! The breakfast was delicious, and offered a number of options from cereal to yogurt to fresh fruit and a warm buffet.(and waffles) The staff person that was attending to the breakfast made an effort to have a chat with each party as they entered and offered us a tiny box of mints. She seemed like she was a little shy but made such an effort to engage everyone, I was really impressed. She also seemed to be a bit more put together. After all this, I would have been with 3 – 4 star experience. True there is only a Red Lobster local, but a small drive to the other side of the freeway and there’s tons of stuff(eat early on the weekend, lots of waits at the nicer chain restaurants) I am not dinging the hotel for this fact, but it bears mentioning. What got me, was the $ 90 charge on my credit card. Somehow, in her rush to get back to telling her story, the clerk failed to appropriately code my room as prepaid. When I called them, they did refund it right away. Normally, I would allow such a mistake if the lobby had a line, or if the phone was ringing and she had to do two things at once, but since I was the only person there, and she couldn’t even give me the right room number, I was a little perturbed. This is not the typical Hampton experience I’ve had, which is usually why I choose this chain above all others when making reservations. The value(minus the overcharge) was good for the room and experience. Hopefully, they can make a few adjustments, because you have many choices in Jackson, and service like this can make those other ones a bit more desirable.

Stayed here last weekend, arriving in early evening on Friday and departing mid-morning on Sunday. Building is set back a bit from the roadway, directly behind a closed restaurant/lounge. Check-in and check-out were efficient. 1st room was a double queen, but unfortunately, had been smoked in recently. The front desk was able to switch rooms and ended up with a single queen. Amenities include conveniently located ice and vending machines, indoor pool, workout center, laundry facility, reception-lounge area where the complimentary American style continental breakfast is served daily. The business center is also located there. The reception area proved to be a little cramped in the morning as guests had to wait for tables to become available for seating. All in all, a nice facility to visit.

Had some problems at check-in, getting into room and gaining internet access. Note that the«business center» is actually two computer terminals in the lobby. Hotel did have quite a few amenities(indoor pool, good continental breakfast, ice machine) and was easy to get to. Nice size bathroom and very clean guestroom with comfortable beds.

We had a very enjoyable stay here. The bed was extremely comfortable. The towels were nice and fluffy. They have an indoor pool(we did not use). Cable and internet worked fine. We found plenty of restaurants(drive-thru) not far away. Area is very safe. They serve a hot breakfast. The reception and breakfast lady were extremely nice. Also, the front desk had several menu’s for take-out or delivery.

Was in Jackson for a week. Knew nothing of the area and no Starwood properties nearby. Pros: Nice clean quite room, flat screen TV, everything works and is in good shape quite heater/ac unit Ice machine close Workout room Friendly staff easy parking close to the front and side door free breakfast Close to I94 Comfy bed Cons: And this isn’t a knock — no restaurant or bar in hotel. Mile or two drive to any real food places(again not a knock on the hotel) nothing really walkable except for a Red Lobster Don’t know about internet. I have my own wi-fi card so can’t comment. Very nice place, very good rate. If you are checking Unilocal and thinking about booking here — no hesitations on my part about repeating.

I had to stay in Jackson, MI for a couple weeks for business and enjoyed myself, but next time I think I would stay someplace else. The check in was first rate and if that was the basis of my stay then i would have given 5 stars, but unfortunately things went downhill. The décor of the room is circa 1995 with electronics to boot. Also the bed was lumpy as a bag of rocks and pretty much felt the same as well. The breakfast was okay, but staff was courteous and attentive, but not a whole lot you can do here. There was renovation going on in the hotel and was greeted by a letter one day in my room stating that I had to move. With accepting my reservation many weeks in advance and also with knowledge of renovation of the hotel it would be safe to say they would not place me in a room that was slated to be redone while I was there. Moving from room to room in a hurried way is very bothersome. I understand that changing rooms happens when malfunctions happen, but not when you have planned renovation, no excuse here for that. As compensation I was given a tiny bottle of water and a small bag of chips, I asked about why I had to move and they pretty much stated, «oh sorry about that.» No anything, just pretty much, «shut up and take it». Well I decided to shut up and take my business elsewhere, the Baymont Inn is a much better value and the cool thing is they have guest passes with the gym next door versus the lame exercise room at Hampton.
