Dairy Queen

This Dairy Queen is okay. I always went there in high school, they were nice enough about big groups sitting there a little too long. Most of the things that keep me from LOVING it are kind of nitpicking, but little things add up.
I’ve had a couple friends work there, and they say the managers are really great, but strict on things that aren’t very important. Obviously they’re doing something right, this restaurant has been owned by them I think my whole life. But they are pretttttty stingy. Heaven forbid you forget to order a sauce when you first place your order — you have to pay for it. So, if you just have a card and paid with a card, you’re not going to put that .25 cent dipping sauce on your debit card. Kind of irritating. I always kind of feel bad for the kids who work there, because I know they just want to give it to me but don’t want to get in trouble.
One tiny thing also — on the menu it doesn’t mention mini blizzards. That is what I would have wanted, but it only listed small with the price $ 2.99 beside it. So, I ordered that, then got up to the window and was charged $ 3.49.
Also, it just annoys me that they won’t serve the blizzards upside down because they say it «takes too much time». Meanwhile, if you order fried chicken, you should plan on waiting several minutes. Which is fine, for fresh chicken. But don’t use a BS excuse why you’re not serving your blizzards upside down — you just don’t want to maybe have to give away something for free.

Super clean restaurant and restrooms. Nice little picnic table area for outdoor seating. Beautiful flowers for landscaping. Has a good bit of grass area to give your pet a potty break if you’re on the road, but remember to pick up after your pooch!

This place is great! Food is always hot and fresh. Owner is there often. Someone is always cleaning or checking the dining area.

Well managed, owners are on location often. Keep in mind it is a fast food chain. It is no wonder that billionaire guy owns the corporation. Lots of good products, burgers & ice cream. Good location for travelers on US 32 and US 35.

Went the otherday and there was one girl working the front and 4 teenage girls working the window. Food seemed to take a while (6 minutes) then went back for a desert, took 10 minutes that time. Not impressed. Needed a manager that night to straighten it out.

Always good food and icecream that is made to order.

And this dairy queen has a neat set up, with plenty of (somewhat sticky) tables. The service is fast and unlike some DQs, they have ice cream and all the food items. The chicken strips served with Texas toast and gravy are surprisingly good, as are the hamburgers.
The real star of the show is the ice cream though, and the fact that this Dairy Queen has a drive through is another star in its favor!
