Since coming here 5 times since I moved to Jackson, I feel safe to give a well rounded review. Why two stars you ask? Well let me tell you. They are a bakery and they do a good job with their bread and pastries from what I’ve had. Although the pie crust on the quiche is a bit too much. It was the thickest piece crust on a quiche I had ever eaten which would have been fine if it wasn’t so hard. You know I order quiche for the eggs and veggies with a little bit of crust… not the other way around. Mostly this review is to say that twice they have messed up my breakfast order when I have gone with my dad who visits from out of town. TWICE. So much for taking my dad to a well regarding Jackson establishment. The order mess ups could be easily avoidable if they could just ASK when they bring the food to the table if everything looks okay. The servers bring the food and disappears so fast that by the time I actually notice that the order was wrong it’s too late. First time they messed up his eggs. Gave him over easy instead of scrambled. They were kind enough to notice the wrong order and went above and beyond by giving us a free loaf of the raisin bread and a gift card. I appreciate them taking notice and trying to make up for it. Second time I ordered the chicken biscuit which I hear is THE breakfast item to get at Broad street. But because they messed up and just gave me a plan biscuit, I will never know. And I don’t plan on trying to come back here for breakfast anytime soon. The scrambled eggs I got were cold and dry and definitely tasted like they came out of a box. Broad street has been better when I have come for lunch other times. However, with that being said I was not pleased with the fruit side. The honey dew and cantaloupe were past due, not fresh, and tasted sour. The mint was also not good. Overall this place is just okay. I’d rather spend my money elsewhere though where I don’t have to worry about my order getting messed up and the chance of not tasty food.

My wife was out and about and wanted to use a Christmas Gift card for Broad Street so I went online and looked up a menu. First reaction? Great, another overpriced, under-portioned, full of themselves sandwich joint(see Panera). To my holiday wonder and surprise that was not the case. Not by a long shot! This sandwich is HUGE! The Chicken BLT is layered with fresh veggies, thick cut chicken, crispy thick sliced bacon, and the bread is divine! I could not be more pleased! The cookies look fresh out of the oven and the lemon square is fantastic. Years ago, when Musiquarium(spelling?) was my local watering hole I ate at here a few times but just lost track of it when I moved to the Burbs. Big thanks to the family friend that gifted it back to me for Christmas!

I come here for their cheesecake, it’s one of the best around Jackson. I’ve tried their sandwiches and didn’t care for it because it’s very much like the sliced sandwich meats you can get at Kroger. I’m a bit of a coffee snob, had a few of their coffees and it was just not my cup of coffee.

Great little place right off of I-55! The food is pretty good, but the service is slightly slow. You are able to sit throughout the building, on the different floors, which is nice when it gets packed.

I love this place, it reminds me of Panera(which doesn’t exist in MS) because their pastries are awesome and every time I try something new it’s really good. Sometimes when u go towards the end of the day before they close, they might give u an extra free pastry. It’s a nice hangout with free WiFi and other little shops around there too

This is well-executed concept. The physical space is engaging, the staff are professional, and the food meet expectations based on the price. The tomato gravy breakfast bowl is a unique take on a classic flavor pairing. Thanks Broad Street – this was a nice start to the drive home from Jackson.

Definitely one of the best finds in Jackson. Great place for breakfast — their hashbrown casserole is a must try if you want a good kick to your morning. Their lunch/dinner options are great, as well. Any sandwich made with the focaccia bread is a god send. If you have an Eat JXN card, you can buy one dessert and get another free. Their cheesecake is unlike any other I’ve ever tried.

Definitely the best gumbo I’ve had in Jackson! The turkey and Brie panini on multigrain bread is also very tasty! I got the food to go and it was still warm by the time I got home. I’m coming back here for sure! Highly recommend this place.

I absolutely love this place! It’s a super fun atmosphere with Lemuria being so close. The food, especially the pasta, is off the charts! Also, great place for breakfast. My parents always request to go here whenever they’re in town. Fresh homemade bread everyday? I’ll take it.

Broad Street is a great choice if you are looking for a relaxed casual atmosphere. They have a nice selection of sandwiches, homemade breads, and homemade deserts.

Banner Hall is filled with all kinds of shops and the bookstore, I love going to Broadstreet on a lazy sunday or on any day of the week for lunch. Every day they offer a different soup and quiche(it’s always nice to have options!). Their bake case is filled with delicious and beautifully crafted treats. I noticed last time I came they have biscones(biscuit + scone) OMG say no more. I wasn’t able to get one but I definitely will next time. I had a turkey wrap. So. Good. The cream cheese sauce on the inside just makes it. I had a side of chicken + sausage gumbo — good choice. I would definitely have that again. The service was great and helpful and our food came to us quickly. Would recommend to anyone looking for a quick bite in the Jackson area

Located in Banner Hall, which is up in North Fondren off the Interstate, Broad Street Baking Company is a great place to grab lunch with colleagues or hang out for a bit to get some work done while drinking some coffee and eating some great food! The food here is really pretty good. It’s standard café fare– think sandwiches, salads, baked goods. I’m a big fan of the salads in particular. They switch up the menu and always have a good blue plate special going on. The coffee isn’t anything amaaaazing but it’s pretty good! Around Mardi Gras, they always have a King Cake coffee which I must admit I’m a big fan of. The atmosphere is really nice. Within the café, there are lots of booths and tables you can sit at with a small or medium sized group easily. Tons of windows and light make the whole place feel really open and pleasant. Just outside, there is some patio seating and inside Banner Hall there are lots of tables you can sit at as well. Just upstairs, is Lemuria– Jackson’s greatest bookstore, for sure.

Great place for breakfast/brunch. Went there today and got chicken and waffles with a vanilla latte. The meal was quite delicious. Their coffee drinks aren’t top notch or anything, but they’re usually pretty good. The staff is always friendly and the restaurant is always clean.

My husband graduated last week and he’s moving back to California. This bakery is going to be missed! Everything is fresh and tasty from the sandwiches, pastas and baked goods. The staff is friendly. It is a bit pricey but it takes a lot of love to bake all that goodness. They just don’t make biscuits like this in California. I’m also going to miss the sandwiches. Particularly the oyster Po’Boy. The bread was a great vessel for the remoulade, lettuce, tomatoes and lightly fried oysters. I had the catfish too before but it was dry. It definitely needed some remoulade or mayo in there. Tiger sauce would’ve been perfect for it. They have it at the condiment bar which I only noticed on my last visit. It is always so crowded I just usually head for the nearest available seating. My husband raves about the focaccia. Please open one in California!

Slip sliding away! Once«a clean, well lighted place» with good eats at fair prices and an attentive staff has fallen and can’t get up. My last two visits found the restaurant dirty and chaotic and the food blah Sysco lackluster and over priced! There probably won’t be a next time! Sniffle, sniffle. Broad Street, you had a good run, time to repave or close.

Thank you Unilocal family for guiding me here during a recent Deep South road trip! The raves and accolades about this place are definitely on point! I came during busy lunch hour expecting a long wait but the lines moved quickly allowing me to get a better view of the awesome desert selection. I ordered way too many cookies and finished half of them off by the time my sandwich was ready. That sandwich was PERFECTION! I had the smoked chicken BLT which was huge! Unfortunately that and the cookies had me ready for a post-lunch snooze, which was fine with me since it was time for a driver switch anyway. Definitely worth the detour off of I-20!

My wife and I got salads and they were good enough but it’s nothing remarkable. What really turned me off was the service. I felt side lined because we had kids.

I wasn’t impressed with these po’boys. They weren’t anything like a traditional sandwich and they were very skimpy on the amount of catfish they put in the sandwich. The bread was pretty thick and dry making it hard to eat. I would choose a different restaurant for a po’boy. However, they are decent for breakfast and they have a good bakery selection.

Great little bakery/café just off the interstate in Jackson, MS. Stopped in on my way to Memphis. Quick service, clean space, friendly staff, a good sized menu(sandwiches, soups, salads, a few entrees, and lots of yummy desserts to choose from), and decent prices. It was busy so I imagine its a pretty popular place. Several of my coworkers got the open-faced grilled cheese which they all said was delicious.
